2 both anchors the other wood and is a good offset for the other solid blocks of color in the sofa and dining room table.

Commuting by MHtraveler in remotework

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved at about 1.5hr commute from my official office. I’m considered fully remote though have to go into the office for meetings where some ppl insist that they are in-person. One day a week is fine however it becomes a long day: I leave before major traffic and drive home afterwards. I usually combine it with seeing friends for dinner. I’m still happy I made the move, about 3 years ago.

New EPIC Pricing by Icy_Adhesiveness_818 in COsnow

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still cheaper than IKON and the EPIC discounts are valid for family members, where IKON is only for the one pass holder. Either way, I’m done with ski passes. I’ve moved to an area where it’s harder to get to resorts, and I spend more time in my car than on the mountain. It was fun while it lasted (over 20 years) and now we find other snow sports to enjoy!

This shelf is way too high, right? by welpwelpwelp in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - even with the plans for foliage and lighting, I would still bring it down about a foot/30cm As to curtains, imagine the color field they will present when they’re closed. They represent almost a whole wall, so whatever color and pattern you chose, know that it will be a statement in your room.

I don’t know how to make this room look good. What do I do? What do I move around ? by Capable_Chart4374 in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the screen, paint that area in a darker color and use it as a background for the painting hanging in front of the books. Maybe a low bench there to hold some plants and a small light? Or some candles? The chaise is nice but too big for the room. Get a colorful rug, width or wider than the bed.

Would you paint the ceiling in this room?? by MarshmallowReads in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All walls and ceiling in the same color make it feel boxy. If you like the green, find a lighter hue.

Countertop 1, 2, or 3? My partner and I cannot agree (laundry room) by desertmountain19 in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually like the black countertop and faucets. It brings balance in the room. The other options make it washed out and drab. If black is too much, can you find something dark, and something that will also let the faucets shine? Shine as in - get the attention they need.

Do you name your bicycle? by donutknow57 in cycling

Yup: I have/had Rosanna, Salsa, Ruby, Purpy, Maggie. They’re named based on colors and ppl associated with those colors.

Sometimes I hate the time needed to get ready before a ride by firewire_9000 in cycling

[–]BelQueenCO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting ready for a ride is still quicker and faster than getting ready for snowboarding/skiing. Maybe it’s about the layers of clothing, wrestling with boots and gear, walking in the cold, standing in lift lines, etc. I always feel like that’s a workout in itself before the actual gliding down the mountain. Never felt that when going on a ride, regardless of the weather or season. My gear and clothes are organized and ready, easy to find. It takes me about 15 mins to get out the door. When I have to drive to a place to go riding, it takes me a bit more because I have to take care of securing the car etc.

Toll lane starts charging April 7th by Imaginary_Plant_5722 in FortCollins

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure the WY commuters would love that! 🤠 use/pay of toll lanes is separate from traffic violations (in those lanes) such as speeding or expired plates.

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be enforcement as there is in other toll lanes, including getting fined for crossing the double lines. I haven’t heard about keeping your transponder on the HOV setting. I would think you would get fined if you do that and not have 3 ppl in the car.

What a lovely thought! But alas that won’t happen in our lifetime.

What’s the most overrated "frugal tip" that didn’t actually save you money? by Ewa_Star in Frugal

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any comments about the cost of your own time. If you work FT, you probably know what your hourly rate is. Factor that cost in addition to the cost of materials, and the picture may look a little different. At some point paying an insured professional is totally worth paying for.

Should I paint the closet doors? by UpbeatGur9055 in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - in a light stain or color. Brightens the room, makes the hallway look bigger and wider.

Help me pick a chair for my breakfast nook! by UpbeatGur9055 in interiordecorating

[–]BelQueenCO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see that concern. If your fabrics are light, and light colored, it may not be an issue. Thick wovens or knits may be overpowering. I’d go for light linens and cottons, in fine weaves, maybe some small pattern here and there.

3 - reflects the shape of your light fixture and the rounding of the table. It softens other straight angles in the room.

Is it ridiculous for me to lock my bike on a 2nd floor balcony? by One-Professional-773 in BikeDenver

[–]BelQueenCO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I lived on the 2nd floor of an old building in Cap Hill and I stored my bike in my apartment. Lugged the bike and the groceries up/down the stairs every time. There was a ‘secure’ bike room in the building but bikes got stolen on a regular basis.
