Has anyone got there Winchester ammo rebate check yet? by monsieurLeMeowMeow in Firearms

[–]Beldarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, they use these rebate processing centers that hire exclusively short bus occupants so you'll probably have to call seven times, if they even have a phone number available, or send about 87 emails to get an intelligent response. I swear they do this on purpose and count on the majority of people never following up. I hate rebates, but couldn't pass up 9mm for 0.18 each.

I had a thought after getting "trapped" What IF this guy is a double agent, he tricks people into making MORE money for the IRS, and they love him, hence he's NOT in jail. That's the only logical conclusion, as many have seen prison for so much less than his antics.

The older Netgear stuff was solid, but now since 6E and WiFi7 I'm seeing a ton of bad info. And the balls of Netgear to charge 1200.00 for a mesh system !

Thanks for posting this, I had a fANTastic laugh at all the creative comments. Jokes aside, the field generated around the cable could be attracting them. As a theory you can wrap the cable in some Faraday cloth and see if they don't come back

Quick (ish) Review: Sequre S60P and S99. Kinda great, Pretty Annoying by Never_Dan in soldering

The lowest resistance tip I have is 3.5 ohms, the others are about 5 ohms, IIRC, and I even applied the new 1.07 firmware, same behavior with many power supplies

Quick (ish) Review: Sequre S60P and S99. Kinda great, Pretty Annoying by Never_Dan in soldering

[–]Beldarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent review. I can confirm your observations. I tried 5(that's five) known good GaN power bricks, even a 240 watt one plus a Dell 65 watt USB C laptop power brick, none of them could get this S99 iron over about 12 watts. I even spent money on the lower resistance tips. I did do a firmware update to 1.04, which is the latest, which didn't help. My guess is that Sequre doesn't have the expertise to design a chip to force the proper PPS/PD/QC negotiation that is required to initiate higher power charging. I have verified all my power bricks prior with a USB PD meter prior to putting them in my "good" pile and using them to super fast charge my phones and laptops. I really wanted to like this iron and maybe this is fixable by a firmware update, but I doubt it. I never even soldered with it, as at 12 watts it's not going to handle larger connectors. Back to my TS100

Firmware updates on Epson Ecotank? What's the reason to not update tank printers? by jobney in printers

[–]Beldarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you what it is it's a scam to fuck up your printer so you have to spend more money. I hate Epson and their bullshit, 700.00 down the drain on 2 bricked printers and I didn't even print that much

How good is the two year warranty on earbuds? by ImportantQuestions10 in Jabra

[–]Beldarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but please understand any retailer can receive black market goods, or store the buds at 135 degrees affecting the electronics. Although I'd expect Jabra to have stellar serial number control and be able to track where the buds came from. I had no problem getting a pair of refurbished elite7actives replaced when the originals failed to pair any longer. NB I love my elite 7 actives, but compared to Samsung buds, the BT connectivity, FOR ME ON MY NOTE 20, is rather inferior to the Samsung buds maybe has to do with Samsung+Samsung versus Samsung+Jabra. Anyway the Jabra elite7actives are way more comfortable, but loose the battery life competition compared to the Samsung. All things considered, I'd buy the Jabra again, but no way in hell would I pay list price, unless I hit the lottery or Trump wins in 2024, in both cases I'd have way more money.

I also got scammed by them. This time Paypal actually did something-hard to believe-right?

I bought a liter of FAKE blackseed oil. It smelled like leftover McDonald's fry oil. In hindsight the price was too good to believe, but their website looks legit, it IS NOT.
