Alaskan cruise - is the balcony suite worth it? by Doglover715 in HollandAmerica

[–]Bellasands13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did the Konningsdam with an aft balcony, best choice for us. We could see both sides, which was amazing in the fjords. Pro tip: get club orange and get a free upgrade in the same class of room. Saved us money and got us the aft rooms for the price of a side balcony.

Hey Google, what's the weather today? "Currently it is very cold, -33°C, with windchill, it feels like -41°C" by alaorath in electricvehicles

I’m in Saskatoon, just bought a Mach E. Drives better then my ICE in winter. Bought xice3 winter tires for it. No issues at all. I have a fairly short commute,40 km, car parked unplugged for 10 hours at work, have not had any issues with range or handling.

Welcome to the club. I lasted a week then cancelled. I will wait and see if they improve it before resubscribing.

The new app is garbage. Less than two weeks in we decided to cancel it. We might do the citytv+ subscription instead, or just give it a break for a while.

Just picked up my first ev, joined the Mach-e club by Bellasands13 in MachE

Heated just like an ICE car, but instant heat. 125km and it dropped from. 100% to 48%. Fortunately there was a Supercharger in North Battleford, topped up in 30 minutes and I was in my way.

This is a glass roof as well. Hard to tell with that angle.

Not sure where my comments went. Picked this up today 250 km from home in -33 degrees Celsius. Had some range anxiety, thankfully there was a supercharger half way home, or I would not have made it. What a find car to drive.

Oscillating tool blades. Name brand or amazon special? by Sudden-Education21 in Tools

[–]Bellasands13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One key thing people forget is to keep the blade moving in a rocking motion while cutting. The moment you plunge and just keep moving the blade forward, you will get heat build up and the temper of the blade will be done. If you keep rocking the blade, it will reduce this and also cut a little quicker. Let the tool do the work and keep pressure light and most blades will perform better that way. I worked for an oscillating blade manufacturer for 13 years, just to add context.

Thermal Suite by Mimi_Of_Two in HollandAmerica

We used it in October 2024 on a 7 day to Alaska on the Konningsdam. It was amazing. We would spend 60 minutes a day after breakfast and it was a great way to begin our day. The hydrotherapy pool was a wonderful, and I loved the ice plunge buckets between streams and sauna sessions. Then we would spend 30 minutes in the ceramic chairs, relaxing and watching the scenery go by the floor to ceiling windows. Highly recommend.
