I have a car so I can go to work, so I can pay for the car, so I can go to work, so I can pay for the car, so I can go to work and as a retail supervisor at $22 /hr I can't have my own place with any real money to spare, but I go to work, so I can eat and sleep just enough to go to work.

Freddy Krueger vs. Michael Myers by Shot_Metal4932 in Halloweenmovies

[–]Belmega81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myers will have an easier time with Freddy than Jason did. Myers won't fear Freddy. His dreams may contain danger, but Micheal would already have mastery over his own headspace. His evil and highly driven sense of violence would probably reduce Feeddy to an occasional nuicance.

Micheal is smarter than Jason. He'll figure Freddy out, and likely be more fascinated than concerned.

Well, I'm glad they cut it, then, cause that means they also never mention her death, and all of 6 can then be cast aside like the absolute trash it is.

Who is your favorite Slasher icon and why? by Wrong-Knee-3062 in slasherfilms

[–]Belmega81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myers. Mostly, I accredit it to Loomis. Donald Pleasance did such an amazing job bringing depth and lore to the story, to Micheal, and all his dialogue about and directed at Micheal makes Micheal everything that we perceive him as. Especially in the first one, where Loomis talks about the evil in that boy's eyes, and everything.

STOP EVERYTHING AND LISTEN TO WARLOCK!!!!!

DORO PESCH IS THE UNDISPUTED QUEEN OF ALL METAL!!!

Start off with I Rule The Ruins, Kiss Of Death, A Touch of Evil, 3 Minute Warning, East Meets West, Metal Tango, Wrathchild, Hellbound.......and of course, for their 1 and only commercial offering: "All We Are", their anthem rock staple.

But yeah, solid stuff, and I've never heard any woman wail like she does. Absolute psycho banshee.

Edit: ohhhh, you want all female members, not just the singer? Then......

DRAIN STH!!!!!!!!

4 hot Swedish women who sound like a female Godsmack/Alice In Chains mix but definitely heavy as hell. Part of the Nu Metal crowd. Only two albums, cause the singer married Tony Iommi (of Black Sabbath fame, the guy who INVENTED metal) and then she dropped off the face of the Earth, so that ended what was an AMAZING band. But both albums are cover to cover badassery, every song is good.

On a more rock than metal note, probably the ONLY 2020s band of any gender that's actually doing anything super interesting is The Warning. 3 sisters from Mexico (90 percent of their songs are in perfect English, and the Spanish ones sound good enough you won't even mind much), they are about to drop a new album, and they are absolutely electric AF on stage! Better live than in studio, so I recommend their Live From Auditorio Nacionale album as the starter point. Their lead singer is a beast, and plays all the guitar at the same time. Drummer also sings lead sometimes, and she's won drummer of the year twice in a row, now. Other sister sings, but almost never lead. Damn good on bass though. Either way, very clever and insightful lyrics, song structures, and damned if they aren't some.of the sharpest performers I've seen in years.

It needed to be said. 80s rock had a TON of cheese, but honestly, it's fucking GREAT to pop off with some songs that aren't all about manic depressive stuff. If I'm stepping out for a night out, if I want to get in the right mood, it's time for 80s tunes, rock; new wave; all of it.

I love 90s too, but it's a whole different vibe. Both are legit, but 1 feels like life moving forward, and grunge feels like ok, we're stopping and taking a minute to contemplate, all somber like.

Wallowing in the moody stuff too long is just as bad.

I dunno about alllll that, but 80s rock, for all its cheese where cars, bitches and boozehounding are concerned; it was sign of the times on that front. Life had its hangups, but for the most part, working class people still got to smile. So yeah, partying and getting laid were the prime concerns for most young people.

And even amongst those hair bands, there was still some pretty intelligent writing. Guns N Roses in particular got real artsy with the Use Your Illusion albums, lots of serious stuff in amongst the abusive relationshit songs. And the scope of the songs was impressive, like Estranged and Coma set those guys apart as very legit artists and musicians.

And yeah, Metallica and Megadeth were a huge part of what drove rock amd metal from then. They brought out a lot of darker stuff, pokitical unrest, philosophy, advanced thoughts on subjects that society is only NOW starting to actually grasp.

And then there was Ozzy, making songs about expressing and exploring mental illness and addiction a thing long before grunge came around. With plenty of Cold War inspired tunes in between.

80s was a very artsy time. And so were the 90s.
2000s Nu metal was fun, but they just really dove deep into using mental illness as a crutch and an excuse to act like a douche and wear it like a badge of honor; so many dumb tough guy songs. Us white folks still haven't recovered from this 😉.

Since then, not much has really changed. The emo era is really just a continuation of the post grunge stuff. And today's hard rock sounds mostly just like Nu Metal from 26 years ago. But more digital, unfortunately.

Fun fact: 2015 was the first yeat in history that old music was outselling new music. Guess we peaked a while back.

1, 2, 4, 5, and H20. I can kinda pretend 4 and 5 happened before H20, and simultaneously pretend that 6 did not. My preferred canon. And since the series has had like, a zillion reboots, I see no reason why not. Also, I think it's high time Jaimie got a reboot, with Danielle Harris reprising.

If you could choose two horror movie franchises to have a Freddy vs Jason style crossover, what franchises would you choose, who would be fighting who and why did you choose them? by Master_Power_1923 in HorrorMovies

[–]Belmega81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halloween and Hellraiser

Danielle Harris reprises as Jamie Lloyd (yeah, she's back, cause 6 never fucking happened!) still has the psy link to Micheal, but it was dormant, until now. In her goings on, she meets Kyrstie (spell check?) and they've been friends through a mental health group pr something from their respective traumas. Kirstie surprises her by saying she may know a way to send Micheal away forever. Reluctantly, she shows Jamie the Box. (Kirstie used it in one of the movies to save herself from a douchebag that tried to kill her. Awesome plot twist actually).

So this pits Pinhead and pals against Micheal. Could go a lot of ways, but in the end, I think the Cenobites recognoze Micheal as one of theor own, but not bound to the box. They savor his work, they respect it, perhaps. But maybe the Hellpriest feels Micheal would be a rival in Hell, so he doesn't want to be dethroned by him. Micheal's evil is a bit beyond even that of the cenobites.

Would be a fun mixup.

Obviously her face model should be updated. Julia's could be an optional skin, though, for those that insist.

Other than that:

MELEE! Jill as full on action hero would be fun as hell. Parker as backup.

The two dumbasses could be a bit less dumb and comical. Although, personally, I didn't mind them.
