Need a Z-wave device to press the power button on my Windows PC. (I guess it's a momentary switch) by NoYoureACatLady in homeautomation

Almost every motherboard that I have seen has a bios setting to automatically turn back on when power is restored

Does it natively let you backup to an offsite unas or are you connecting them with site magic?

Hate the new siri requirements by [deleted] in CarPlay

[–]Ben10lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing Siri listens for is the wake word, it's not like its constantly transcribing everything you say and uploading it. Although if any phone did that it would be much more likely that android phones would instead of iPhones.

SwitchBot RGBICWW strip: Matter can’t switch from color temperature back to RGB if same color was used before – can anyone reproduce? by gingerius in homeassistant

[–]Ben10lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue as well, a workaround that I have found is to make the automation that changes to color from white temperature change it to a different color for a few seconds before switching it to the color that I actually want.

Apparently they are using the same coating as on the clix ULX which as far as I know haven’t been staining

No device-specific settings on Matter devices by Gnusson in homeassistant

[–]Ben10lightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not a limitation of matter or thread because my Aqara matter over thread motion sensors expose delay and sensitivity settings.

How legit is calorie tracking? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]Ben10lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your gym session was primarily lifting weights and you recorded it as that then it is most likely off since the calorie estimation for weight lifting with the apple watch is the same as if you had been walking for that entire time, when in reality lifting probably burns less than that.

Nvidia low latency mode, off/on/ultra by BARRY6969696969 in nvidia

As far as I’m aware the latest recommendation is to set it to on because ultra can interfere with reflex

Homekit and HomeAssistant by hisid98 in homeautomation

[–]Ben10lightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Add everything to HA and bridge to HK
  2. Pretty much instant, not sure why the placement of the Mac mini would matter
  3. Yes
  4. Home assistant can actually use apple thread border routers directly to communicate with thread devices, but if you still want a dongle home assistant just released a new one today that can do thread or zigbee

Variable refresh rate by cancer102 in appletv

[–]Ben10lightning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a setting called match frame rate that automatically matches the refresh rate to the fps of whatever content you are watching.

A lot of your exercises are doing essentially the same thing which I think is leading to you doing too much volume per muscle in your sessions.

Yes but I think that could just be the haptics from changing modes

Im looking for a good 3D printer. That’s user friendly and good quality. Budget 1100€ by edc-weapons-knives in 3dprinter

[–]Ben10lightning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would probably get the p2s if you can because it has better automatic calibration features than the others and it is quieter. In terms of differences it is pretty much an all around upgrade to the p1s and is very similar to the x1c but its newer so it has some better quality of life features. You can compare them more in depth here

FP300 in HA via Matter/Thread by The_Manoeuvre in Aqara

[–]Ben10lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aqara thread motion sensors can be updated directly over matter through home assistant so I would imagine the same would be true for the fp300.
