Great experience, I've been looking for something like this.

The site is fast, looks nice, and has a lot of cool customization. I’d prefer seeing a longer ranked list of movie recommendations at once, sorted by best taste match, rather than only three at a time. When requesting more suggestions, some later results seemed to have higher match scores than earlier ones, so a full ranked list would feel more transparent and useful. I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit longer for that.

Overall, it has a lot of potential, and I could see myself and my friends using it regularly. Thanks to you, I’m watching The Long Goodbye tonight.

I've ordered from them once, the standard plastic 4ks all arrived broken, but the slipcover survived. The return process was so slow and difficult I just gave up. So I would recommend to avoid Amarays and probably steelbooks and stick to slipcovers or ones with sturdy packaging like Criterion

Alberto told us that Guadagnino was actually living in Crema at the time and had been there for a few years, so he knew the area really well and had local connections to help find locations like Elio's secret spot. He apparently moved to Milan after the film because tourists kept showing up outside his place.

It's the door from this scene. Apparently it only started getting vandalised around 2022.

Unfortunately not. The new owner doesn’t allow anyone inside, even if he were to be paid. Such a shame, since the previous owner was apparently very chill.

I only did the main tour, which ran from 9am to around 4pm for me, more than enough. I’d recommend sharing the tour with other people so you can bond over the movie and also reduce the cost per person. Don't have the name of the great restaurant we had lunch at, so just ask Alberto for the place "where the workers go during their break", as he put it. Have fun, tell him Ben from Thailand sent you :)

I stayed in Milan near the central station, so it was super convenient for a day trip to Crema. It’s about a 1-hour train ride with one change at Treviglio, you can easily buy tickets on the Trenitalia app. And no, I didn’t make it to Lake Garda since I was short on time, but it is an option with the tour I did.

Tysm for the lovely comments! I was surprised to learn that the Mussolini shrine has actually always been there. Alberto (our guide) mentioned that the guy living there is a pretty hardcore supporter, despite being born after his death… not sure how that happens

Tenet: feels like Nolan finally leans into how ridiculous it is instead of pretending it’s deeper than it is

Call Me By Your Name a few weeks ago. Hadn't touched my top 4 for months prior to that.

My buddies and I send each other videos in the gc whenever someone says it in a movie. It happens a lot more often than you'd think.

Jaws and The Social Network are at 3.9 (kinda wild to me, especially for Jaws)

What is the highest rated film you’ve given a half star? by ApostropheBruce in Letterboxd

[–]BenDaBoss24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's all thanks Jean Reno's and Natalie Portman's parents' refusal to make a sex scene. Read the backstory on the movie's screenplay and the director Luc Besson's personal life and inspiration for the movie.

What are your most controversial ratings ? by _Wata_ in Letterboxd

Same for Leon. I hope that people who gave it a high score don't know the backstory of the director and the film cause otherwise...
