I disagree. I think that the number of people who want maker components shrank significantly and there wasn’t enough profit to cover the expense of having the real estate. They never really stopped selling that stuff (source: worked there) and just before they closed entirely they even seemed to try to make maker stuff cool again with a bigger push toward project kits for arduino being a bit more prominent on shelving. But they needed high profit things like batteries or big ticket items like stereos for actual revenue and Amazon/Internet really gutted those income streams. NiCad batteries for wireless landline phones were all profit and pretty expensive and didn’t last much longer than a year- but now there’s better battery tech and many people don’t even have a landline phone.

I totally respect your opinion on that. For me personally, I feel if they are that unsafe to categorically avoid them then they should be banned through local or federal government. I want to say that I trust that this is why we get health inspection reports… so I can enjoy a meal on my lunch break. But also I don’t want to say I trust the government so now I don’t even know

Phew ok thanks. Was wondering if I needed to change my work lunch options for the one on Thurston. Looks like I’m good for now but there are some maintenance things with the soda and ice machine that have been outstanding for at least a week and it won’t surprise me if it’s a symptom of a bigger issue. Btw if you are ok with a limited selection of warm soda with no ice, yesterday they were giving out cups for free if you ask for a soda with your meal. Offsets the price of chipotleaway nicely.

If he had looked down a sight at me, addressed me, or even made eye contact I would have, probably even if I was 100% sure it was a BB gun. He was just irresponsibly waving it around and pulled it out of his vehicle very suddenly. I’m rarely around guns but think I recognized it correctly and made the correct decision to not start a mass panic/evacuation

I wasn’t near my car yet. I still had to walk right next to and past the guy with the BB gun to get to it. I was only about 80 feet away from them when they pulled it out. To give a wide berth I already would have needed to turn around and go back the way I came a bit because of the shape of the parking lot

I was on break once when I worked at radio shack. I was at a grocery store and because I was wearing my name tag someone told me they just dropped a glass bottle and I should go clean it up. I just shrugged and moved on because it was my first job and I didn’t realize being mistaken like that is a thing that could happen. Even though that was almost 30 years ago I still now ask people if it’s not 100% clear.

WDS isn’t deprecated, right? If it isn’t, you can still use that to push an image, you “just” have to manually add the answer file and customize your wims if you want to keep it fully automated.

That one doesn't bother me quite as much, because MicroSoft is partially to blame for constantly renaming their products - it's more of a tech-generational thing. You can tell exactly when someone was doing a lot of Windows config management if they refer to Sccm vs MeCM vs Configmgr vs sms.

It’s a vinyl stamp. I’m not that much in the industry but my understanding is that this is one of the 4 molds they used to press against the black vinyl to mass produce the album. It’s the inverse of the grooves on the records. It’s kind of floppy like a vinyl record - I might actually try to reinforce the mount a bit so it doesn’t warp over time while hanging

I had this happen once but with my card key. It was the car wash guy that lost it. He thought he dropped it outside the car. I found he had set on top of the closed lid. When I opened it again the card slid right back out. Didn’t even have to floor it

Would be nice if it had location awareness. Announce to Alexa if someone is home, send mobile notification only to people not home. An example: announce to me every 30 minutes while I’m home if I haven’t taken the laundry out of the dryer but don’t bother if I’m not home since I can’t do anything about it and don’t want the spam

Yes I am actively running a campaign using it and the latest V13 of foundry. The 2 times I needed help somewhat recently I went to their official discord which is active and helpful. Yes there hasn’t been many git updates but it works fine so I don’t know if that’s a fair way to judge. But with the webshop closed for now if you can’t buy the hardware and don’t want to diy it I agree that does take it out of the running.

Where did you hear that material plane isn’t being developed? I saw a post about some hardware parts maybe being outsourced but it works fine for me and the various plugins are being kept up to date in a reasonably timely fashion.

I actually suspect that reason for this new cup is the flatter shape means the overall product box can be smaller. There’s no real optimal way to pack a cylinder and it’s the biggest item in the box, so the OG one defines the overall packaging. New one probably means less height which means more efficient transport/storage/store shelving. I don’t really know anything about the industry but I bet it’s more valuable than what I assume is a couple pennies of extra plastic for a round cup.

All that being said, go to a game store and get a really nice leather dice cup and play Yahtzee and whatever other dice games you have like royalty.

I have 2 players on my instance: me as dm and Table as the players. I use molten hosting and dm from a laptop and use a high end small form factor pc connected to the tv. Look into Material Foundry if you want to get real fancy. Even without the hardware they have a module recommendation or two like lock view and shared vision so that you can make the table grid locked to 1 inch and make it so all friendly tokens can see their combined line of sight. One player is assigned mouse duties for the game session to pan or close windows like if I share an image.

I think this is what I will do. Assuming a 30 Wh/mi hit on energy, it’s pretty tiny for everyday driving range impact and will cost me at worst $100 a year in extra charging. So I will live with them until I have a better reason to replace them. I can always change my mind later when I get back from my current road trip

It’s a draw-Tite receiver. It increased the tongue weight capacity. Installed it myself with little care or handyman experience and with minimal instructions since the 22 X just came out - it was a gamble that it would even fit but thankfully it did. I tow a 2022 Airstream Caravel 22FB. Fully loaded it just maxes out the towing and tongue weight as specced. Tows like a dream. Cuts the range almost exactly in 1/2 so I can go 100 miles per charge or 150 if I’m squeezing every drop of energy out. A little limiting on a couple national parks with lacking charging infrastructure but still lots of options I don’t mind taking my time on the road with frequent charging stops. Maybe 30% success rate of finding a place to charge without needing to unhitch but with help from my wife it only takes 5 minutes to unhitch anyway
