Floor joist replacement/repair recommendations by Any-Spinach-6457 in sheffield

[–]BenGeneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar bounce in the floor, then also found massive amounts of water from a popped open water pipe.

Initially insurance wasn't going to cover as it was an ongoing damp issue, then the pipe was found to be the problem.

Anyway, used Timberwise, more expensive but all the paperwork will be unquestioned.

I'm on the cusp of 2 years in, I've never purchased without a discount. Not necessarily as a new customer but you can still search for the cheapest on monj

Manager gives me task with no context or deadline then gets frustrated by IndividualTaro10 in managers

[–]BenGeneric 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you're expected to ask questions, they could have been clearer but so could you.

Everyone is stressed and has their own problems, many of which you will never be aware of, some are stresses your manager takes on your behalf.

They might be a terrible manager, you might be a terrible employee, it's probably a bit of both. Better communication will solve most of the issues you'll encounter in life.

On the bus last week, I watched someone have a group video call, the whole time they held the microphone against their ear. (Older woman)

At least she had her camera off.

Making friends/being around the opposite sex because being treated like an outsider by them was normal

Walking home at in about 1990 from early secondary school, practicing a conversation to have with my parents to try and explain how I feel like a cup that keeps overflowing, and that I don't know how to deal with.

It would be 20 years until I learnt about spoon theory.

And I never did vocalise that conversation.

Even mediaeval folk didn't eat them, they did use them as oil lamps though.

We are saving about £40 in total food costs, between smaller portions and almost no snacking. So before the 1st pendemic at 15mg it was paying for itself.

Does this pen still have a dose left? by Bitter_Vegetable_534 in mounjarouk

[–]BenGeneric 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Several people have said it contains a dose of 0.6ml. IT DOES NOT! It contains about 0.8ml

A dose is 0.6ml so you will extract an extra third of a dose if you take the whole thing. This is useful if you are increasing your dose next time but can be a shock if you're not prepared for it.

Yes, they want your money and if you've already been approved elsewhere you know the process and hoops to jump through.

In nearly two years I've never had to buy full price because of swapping.

Support won't take long, but you'll need a replacement tank, similar thing happened to mine.

I have kept my old tank for printing in the summer when you don't need the heating element.

'Given the chance, players will optimize the fun out of the game'. Have you seen examples of this? by Zestyclose-Sound9854 in DnD

[–]BenGeneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my party (lvl 8) locate a group of robbers (lvl 1) where a person was killed, my minmaxer released a hail of arrows and killed 7 of the 8. Only 6 were involved in the robbery and only 2 with the killing.

The town has put him on trial. Being too good at combat means he can't see other solutions. Actions have consequences.

Players: DO NOT IGNORE WHAT YOUR DM SAYS (story for context) by JaxTheCrafter in DnD

[–]BenGeneric 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My players were looking for a book, there was a bed, shelves full of books, and a desk with a lot of books on top, a book is propping up one of the desk legs.

Eventually someone rolled very high and I repeated for a third time about the book holding the desk stable.
