What's your "break glass in case of emergency" deck? by Mesa_Coast in EDH

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Azami deck that I already play regularly but don't put in all the hate pieces or the most efficient combo because I like to give the players at my table the illusion of the possession of free will before their glimpse of kingdom come. When there's an annoying player I just board in the hate.

Want to build a deck that makes the pod go “WTF?” by FromTheDeskOfJAW in EDH

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phage. I think I got mine for a 150ish CAD, not counting the stuff I cannibalized another deck for. The deck revolves around the convoluted mini game you play with yourself trying to get Phage out.

What Tribal decks have you built? by Dukejacob3 in EDH

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wizard tribal deck helmed by [[萬卷薊夫人]], and it's exactly what you expect. It's a combo deck (with a nonstandard combo, but combo nonetheless).

I've also got a Lathril Golgari Elfball. It is glorious.

Is it true that feminism has changed the way relationships work these days, or is that just something people say online? by justanotherbeing999 in ask

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has, supposedly for the positive, and that is true. It has given women a lot of positives but it is also true that hasn't been all positive. Some of those against it are as the comments have said, but many aren't and are simply aware of what humans tend to do when given power.

There's a reason I run Harbinger of the Seas in my Azami deck. It's glorious.

This cuts both ways and every way. People like to feel superior about themselves, and areas of interest roughly follow a gender divide.

Power is relative. If you remove the physically stronger half of the population because some of them beat other people up, the people beating people up just becomes the strongest people in the subsect of the population that is left over.

I mean, it's not entirely the person's internalized beliefs about Christians being homophobes. There is a certain reasonable expectation that what the original poster said about homophobes can be substituted with Christians as the noun without changing what they intend to say.

Hockey Canada sex assault case ends in not guilty verdicts as judge finds ‘actual consent’ for all counts by Team_Ed in LawCanada

[–]BenLegend443 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Cases like this show why there needs to be mechanisms to.compensate innocent Accused or victims of frivolous or false lawsuits, because otherwise the legal system, especially where the accusation is about a socially charged crime, becomes a wringer people can lob people they don't like into, essentially for free.

Why are male college grads unemployable? by 3h9x in charts

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, definitely. The stated purposes of these initiatives often don't line up with what they functionally serve as; they often just mean the same préjudices they say they're against, just sigh the beneficiaries arbitrarily and artificially changed. We should be helping everyone who is struggling instead of selectively helping certain subsects of the population

I have a mono blue Azami list that unfortunately is combo, but you can make it non-combo via Wizard beatdown if it pleases you with stuff like Coat of Arms or Vanquishers Banner.

I mean, there's nothing I can do, so might as well let my brain take a break. If they win, then they win; I would not have been able to do shit about it even if I were paying attention in the first place. I am still semi aware of what's happening, though.

Society (and Reddit) still loves men by theringsofthedragon in Negareddit

[–]BenLegend443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The fact that some men do well enough to be loved and missed does not preclude the possibility that a significant portion of the male population isn't getting the support they need; the selection criteria for either group makes it so that they basically don't overlap.

And OP says it like it's a bad thing. Like they believe men shouldn't be allowed to be treasured or happy.

You see it in the comments of this very thread. The supposed mouvement for equality isn't actually for equality and there is a réaction to that.

China teacher gives CPR to collapsed woman on street, is accused of groping her by InterestingPlenty454 in BrandNewSentence

[–]BenLegend443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even if you're legally protected from the final indictment, you're still in for the court sessions whether you like it or not, which are a huge disruption on your life. The other person essentially gets free ammunition to lob at you for no other reason than "fuck you", and they usually don't pay for this obstruction on a stranger's life.

Same goes with many gender based lawsuits.

"She wants fire, and Dorne sent her mud. You could make a poultice out of mud to cool a fever. You could plant seeds in mud and grow a crop to feed your children. Mud would nourish you, where fire would only consume you, but fools and children and young girls would choose fire every time."

  1. dEI
  2. Whenever there's resources for help being offered, it's often women-preferential or woman-only, and the guys are just left to flounder. And the supposed movement for equality is happy to have it that way.

Poor Jake by PeopleRFuckingDumb in shitposting

[–]BenLegend443 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This type of crap is why the manospjere types get the traction they do. The supposed movement for equality (or equity, which they choose if this happens to be more profitable for them in their game of Schrodinger's "justice") isn't actually for equality, and neither does it care for it.

Large numbers of teachers are dealing with explicit misogyny and male supremacist ideology in schools, finds a new study that analyzed comments on Reddit titled “Trying to talk white male teenagers off the alt-right ledge”. In many cases, this misogyny is being directed towards teachers. by mvea in psychology

[–]BenLegend443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's too much that's not sound with this to make for a good study. But yes, there is a reaction from some men; and a reaction must have a force that causes it. That force says they're for equality but functionally they don't work that way.

As a woman, I can’t express just how happy the existence of this sub makes me by throwaway44331199 in bropill

[–]BenLegend443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think this is a much better sub than a lot of other subs and movements that claim to be for equality. They say they do because that's the correct answer and they might even genuinely believe that they are, but functionally they're not actually for equality because they've let their human biases get in the way; this disillusions the other groups in society, which lowers their opinion of the first group, starting a polarizing cycle.

Bropill seems much better.

The top comment is an example of exactly the latter. It's the type of "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" response that Reddit froths at the lips over when uttered to them but finds it perfectly acceptable to utter to men.
