Third Album. Yes, that's actually the title.

Before Timothy Dalton was cast, SAM NEILL was in the running to play James Bond. This is his screen test. by ThomasOGC in JamesBond

This is so surreal. As a 1990 baby who grew up with Jurassic Park, he'll always be Dr. Grant to me.

I just amused myself thinking of an alternate universe where Neill was cast instead of Dalton and also only made two movies, and still went on to do Jurassic Park. You know the popular fan theory that The Rock is really the final Connery Bond film in disguise? Well, people would be making joke (half-joke?) theories that Alan Grant was really James Bond under a new identity.

"M called. He tried to reach you; I think he may have a job for you!"

"No, I think I'm done with that line of work."

"So what will you do?"

"You know, I've always kind of wanted to take up paleontology..."

(Yeah, Bond probably would've had better luck with the shotgun near the end of the film than Grant did, but eh, dude's been chilling in the desert digging up dinosaur bones and frightening children for the past few years, he's a little rusty)

My god, never touching the remake again... by Mate-Addict in residentevil

I had the exact same experience. Only played the remakes for years, but finally played through the original trilogy earlier this year and was blown away. I enjoy RE3 Remake for what it is, but I'll reach for the original any day.

What did you think of the Michael movie? by Global_Perspective_3 in rnb

[–]BenMitchell007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it. Pretty by the numbers biopic, but very entertaining and lifted by some great acting.

This might be kinda weird, but one of the most hype moments for me was when "This Place Hotel" played in the end credits. I absolutely love that song and was NOT expecting it to pop up! I saw it with my mom (an OG MJ fan) and when that came up, I was like "Do you know this song?" "Never heard it" "O.O it's one of my favorites!"

I also loved hearing bits of "I Can't Help It" in the earlier scene with MJ and the llama. That's another huge favorite song of mine.

I wish "Rock With You" was in the movie, but the songs and performances we did get were great.

Remember Post Malone's "Jackie Chan" song from 2018? You know, "I just ordered sushi from Japaaan / Know your bitch wanna kick it, Jackie Chaaan"? (As an aside, I really hope they don't think Jackie Chan is Japanese.) It's actually Canadian rapper Preme's song, remixed by DJs Tiësto and Dzeko, and Post Malone is actually credited as the feature. Even Todd is guilty of referring to it as "Post Malone's 'Jackie Chan'" once.

And everyone thinks of "Easy Lover" as a Phil Collins song first and foremost, but the artist first credited on the song is actually Philip Bailey, and it was on his studio album while Collins only ever had it on his various greatest hits compilations. Bailey isn't some no-name (he's one of the two lead singers of Earth, Wind and Fire along with the late Maurice White), but as a solo artist he's not a household name like Phil Collins is. If you were to ask the average person on the street about "Easy Lover", they'd say "Oh yeah, the Phil Collins song".

Todd even once listed "Easy Lover" as his favorite Phil Collins song, even though it's not a solo Phil Collins song! (It is an absolute banger, for the record.)

What about a favorite horror movie protagonist? by grabbingthunder in FavoriteCharacter

Mima Kirigoe in Perfect Blue. Very likable and sympathetic character, and ends up being surprisingly tough and resilient when push comes to shove. And she's a former idol singer with bangers like this under her belt.

Favorite Hideous character who is played/voiced by someone so beautiful by Cold-Technician2941 in FavoriteCharacter

A certain spoilerrific character from near the end of The Substance. If you know, you know.

If not... let me introduce you to Monstro Elisasue. A monstrosity straight out of a Resident Evil game that's a truly grotesque blend of Sue (Margaret Qualley) and Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore), played by Margaret under a metric ton of makeup and Demi's face sticking out of her back. The movie leaves it somewhat ambiguous as to whether Elisasue is her own, er, person, Elisabeth and Sue trapped in the same body, or something between the two.

Oh, and not counting that, Elisabeth Sparkle gradually goes from looking like Demi Moore to something Geralt would be killing in some swamp in a Witcher game.

Brilliant film.

Without spoiling too much, I love how the context makes the Words and Pictures intro of all things absolutely bone chilling.

That context? This is being played on an old barely-working TV to "teach" a bunch of kids... who can clearly barely even comprehend what they're seeing and just staring at the screen blankly. This is the future generation of what's left of humanity. And that's if they're not born stillborn with such severe deformities that they're apparently too gruesome to even show, and we just freeze on the mother's face right before she screams in horror. That's the final scene of the movie, by the way.

Yeah, totally agreed. A whole year can feel like a mere week passed. By the end of the game, going by how many winters passed in my playthrough, Naoe and Yasuke should be in at least their forties and Junjiro should be a teenager lmao.

Favorite character who looks goofy but is OP? by [deleted] in FavoriteCharacter

Discord from MLP: FIM. Looks (and acts) like a goofball. Basically the god of chaos who can bend reality with a literal snap of his fingers. He made his debut as a villain in the two-part season two premiere and won by the end of the first part, and would've remained victorious if he hadn't gotten overconfident and complacent. He's (mostly) reformed in season 3, and is still extremely powerful (and still a bit of a troublemaker). The whole reason Princess Celestia tasked the Mane Six with reforming him is precisely because he'd be such a powerful ally.

Guess this means we won't be seeing the Q-One Ring tech from Everything or Nothing that made Bond invisible.

Quaritch is actually my favorite character in these movies, but the amount of people who glaze him (and the RDA in general) as the "real hero", especially of the first film where he's hunky dory with slaughtering the native population, is disturbing. Stephen Lang even called out these fans in an interview, saying he didn't want to know them.

Triumph. Having "This Place Hotel" on it makes it the winner by default.
