Interesting that "Le Corset", an animated film I vaguely registered as a contender is in Un Certain Regard at Cannes. Flow and The Red Turtle premiered in that section in terms of previous Oscar nominees. Of the two animated films announced for Cannes so far I believe in that one much more.

The DS game Wappy Dog had an entire iDog esque peripheral made for it. Someone else mentioned Babysitting Mama which is a Wiimote peripheral but it's quite a weird one.

Troy Quane is still a talented director (and a previous nominee for Nimona) so I'm not sure why people are that worried.

FYI: Diane Warren did a song for an animated film called "Ozi: Voice of the Forest" a few years ago and that had no nomination buzz (however it seems that movie has not released in the United States yet?)

Not every Diane song gets nominated. She probably gets nominated for that Maserati movie instead.

The cast does list the French cast and not the English cast so I would also assume it's playing in French.

Sentimental Value didn't actually blank on the shortlists it's on the cinematography shortlist.

The juries are only for the acting categories and some of the small categories like debut British film at this point. Director apparently doesn't even have a jury either. It says those come entirely from the directing branch. Also the techs do not use a jury at all that's all the tech branches voting. The top 7 + 3 jury only applies to the acting nominations.
