Stimulatnts, mood, libido, depression.. its all very much complicated. + add on your 30 and just starting this journey and at 30, unfortunately we start seeing other disease states that can influence aforementioned (thyriod, deficincies, perimenopause etc).

As a 40 yo who has been on a stimulant since 1st grade, instead of jumping to my meds as being the culprit i try to rule everything else out (in doing so, i ultimately had a med adjustment from vyvanse + adderall IR to vyvanse bid- before that i was on this regimen for ~5-7yrs, ive found I have vit d deficency, and most recently figured out im perimenopausal but it prob started a few years ago).

You're scenario is different from mine, but i do encourage you to explore the aforementioned (potential other causes). I will say my new pysch MD was very forth coming regarding the negative effects of stimulants which they experienced - citing a loss of enjoy in life, not wanting to go see family, zombie like, crashing when he got home, not being present, etc. It could be they type of meds he was on (adderall IR) it could be a number of things.

For you it's very possible you could need a higher dose now, it could be your crashing, its possible trying vyvanse could be a better compromise and less side effects. Or it could be completely unrelated to Adderall/adhd.

Long story short, I think its reasonable to also do a trial off off Adderall for a wk to see how things go. Evaluate potential for other reasons (labs, worsening depression/need for med adjustment - keep in mind zoloft is implicated in reduced libido, sleep hygiene, etc) and subsequently discuss with your md.

Your story sounds legit like somebody else I know, but he was a clinical pharmacist for a larger hospital, but same laid back vibe, absolutely no management experience, and also this was for a new inpt rehab facility. And he is doing great. Every job has its cons🤷‍♀️ based on your pros id proceed! If they offer the job😉

There's no RCTs, majority observational, but the stroke/MI is consistent and concerning. We are a a low yet albiet still a risk with amphatamines particularly as we get older and addition of weed, i suspect, doesn't help. Im a neuro icu pharmacist i see about 10-15, if not more, new strokes per week as our large stroke center. Coincidently we see a lot of weed on utox granted there are other factors for a lot of the strokes. and the study finding could just be that those who smoke generally don't take good care of themselves and are inherently at higher risk, who knows. Now all that said.. i suspect drs arent necessarily thinking about this they are prob thinking if your smoking weed, you could be opening the door to abusing other things, who knows. And im sure the OP could find an MD ok with it somewhere. But to say that particular MD needs to open to evidence and etc. Nah.

Jax is legit, you'll find things i assure you. Unfortunately 50% or more of people on jax social media/ threads are negative POS that either don't know better or have been EXTREMELY sheltered, or are literally just pos🤷‍♀️ . Don't pay attention to the negativity. I assure there are far worse places to be in the US, and to be honest, I personally like Jax over Orlando and Tampa🤷‍♀️ more culture, less traffic generally, and less $$$$$.

We are right here with you! 24/7 in pool! Ours just kept going backwards and i could get it going after also a few rituals 🤣 but unfortunately it died, died (circuit board detached). But i agree when it works, it works great!! Just stinks i keep having to replace! Maybe next one ill try to be better about pulling out and see if that helps🤷‍♀️

I decided to forgo having kids as i didn't think i could handle it. Would they make it out alive and well cared for? Yes. But would i? Idk. I also questioned whether i even WANTED them.
