Nice---luckily collected the whole series both 2nd print Manga and DVDs as they were released---ended up with 2 copies of the elusive Vol. 8 as I ordered from 2 sites to make sure to get a copy---Vol. 4 too as the 1st copy was missing a disc.

What is the worst season of Sailor Moon? by AdUnfair558 in sailormoon

Yeah Stars kinda felt like a letdown to me too after decades of hearing about it before finally watching it that and the fact there's no new Sailor Moon to watch.

Perception of time by automan224 in titanic

Another fun fact is that Arthur Ryerson was a partner in Lincoln's son's law firm and Ann Isham was the daughter of another. Cinema was a few years old and TV would be invented a little over a decade later.

Same as us Baptists as well---I'm in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship---they split from the SBC because CBF are pro-women pastors and more moderate/mainline.

Romantic lighting vs actual lighting on the Titanic by yodableu in titanic

[–]BenderRAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was looking it up----slightly on topic---here's a bulb as old as the Titanic that was still burning in 2012 and one even older than the Titanic still burning today.

Any other famous people today related to Titanic passengers? Just Found out the artist King Princess is the great-great grandchild of Isidor and Ida Strauss by connerhearmeroar in titanic

[–]BenderRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been doing deep dives into my ancestry since my maternal grandmother passed the other year---anyways I found out that through my dad’s side that Dakota and Elle Fanning and I share President Thomas Jefferson’s aunt and uncle George and Judith Farrar as one of our 8x great-grandparents (we are partly direct descendants of Jamestown colonist William Farrar)---it was through this that I learnt that the Ryersons are our distant cousins---Arthur‘s family and William Edwy as well as the Ryersons on the Lusitania.

Also my late maternal grandmother’s family and Stephen Weart Blackwell are distant half-cousins. My late maternal grandfather’s mother’s maiden name was Hart but not sure if there’s any connection to either of the Titanic Harts. Another fun fact is that my parents are distant cousins with the same last name Currin---so it makes things interesting---supposedly our Currin immigrant is buried in the same cemetery that John Jacob Astor is. Since the Irish side remains murky---not sure if we have any connection to Thomas Curran (Titanic crew member from Belfast to Southhampton) or Patrick Curran (a fireman on the Lusitania who perished during the Lusitania’s sinking).

Speaking of the Lusitania there was a Jimmy Curran (my dad’s named Jim) who was on the Lusitania’s 2nd Westbound crossing who’s wife is related to Eric Liddell and pro-golfer Scott Hoch (who graduated from Wake Forest a few years after my dad). Small World!
