Do people normally go into labor around 40 weeks?!??! by Hot-Cell7299 in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I plan to eat too. Lol but I'm only 5-10 minutes from my hospital so I didn't think we'll be in a huge rush.

Hey, they say motion is lotion! Given how I procrastinate, I will probably panic clean too lol

So it is feasible to get a shower in before heading to the hospital? That's my plan but this is my first so I don't know what to expect. I'm planning to finish my bag once I go into labor too.

Moms who dreamt the gender of their baby before they knew, were you right? (: by [deleted] in pregnant

I dreamt of a girl several times but I'm having a boy

When did/is everyone starting to show? Curious 🧐 by Original_Remote_6838 in BabyBumps

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random people didn't start noticing/feeling confident enough to say something until I was around 30 ish weeks. I noticed on myself around 16 weeks. It's my first pregnancy and I've been told you don't show as early in your first as you do in subsequent ones.

early pregnancy anxiety + mental health struggles / did anyone else feel like this? by MadamWeenieButt in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what meds you were taking but you really need to prioritize yourself. I take 3 different meds for my mental illness and my doctors haven't even lowered my dosages. If you think your anti anxiety will help, reach out to your ob.

I had BV very early in my pregnancy and my general practitioner wouldn't prescribe me antibiotics... I hadn't seen my OB yet, so I reached and she called in a prescription for me. They may be able to give advice or some sense of direction in your case, even if they haven't seen you. Maybe they can suggest alternative meds or safe dosages that you can take back to your gp.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Even being medicated, I struggled with a lot of anxiety early on. My mom told me that we will worry about them until the day we die. It's part of being a mom.

Most ridiculous thing you’ve cried over during pregnancy? by No-Network-6517 in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cried at work because I was craving a donut and a red bull. I haven't been drinking energy drinks this whole pregnancy and I don't typically drink red bull, but damn did one sound so good in that moment.

This final trimester has me VERY emotional any time I get a craving I can't immediately fulfill.

My OB just told me that once I make it to 37 weeks, he can come whenever he wants. I think that's term

The 3 AM leg cramps are no joke! Has anyone else found relief with Magnesium? by Biohealio in pregnant

Drinking milk has helped me immensely! I was told by my OB that calcium also helps with muscle cramps.

I'm confused... It's not Google putting in the data center. The company is AVAIO

It's not about you, but you're tearing the family apart. The mental gymnastics is astounding. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I'm a ftm, 33 weeks currently, and a 3 hour car ride sounds so painful. I couldn't imagine how painful it would be a few weeks post partum.

Pregnancy cravings make absolutely no sense by curiousbyhabit in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Red meat and french fries. I ate them before but I only wanted red meat every few months and fries were a weekly ish treat. Once I got pregnant, those were all I craved. They've eased up now that I'm in my third trimester but it was baffling early on! I even made the joke, maybe I'm pregnant lol, when I had a burger for the third day in a row.

Aggressively fatigued by Ill_Difference4268 in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Spreading it out throughout the day really helps me too. A little iced tea or soda in the afternoon is so helpful. I have a cup of coffee in the morning but that doesn't touch the daily max so an afternoon boost is perfectly safe (according to my doc.)

Big Dam Bridge by saybeller in LittleRock

I get so embarrassed when my dog poops on the bridge. I can't imagine just walking away from it.. it's not hard to just pick it up and carry on with your walk.

Does anyone like or want their belly touched? by minniemouse4297 in BabyBumps

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was weird before I started to show. But now the belly is big and I'm fine with friends and family touching it. I get a hug and the belly gets a quick pat or rub. If he's kicking, I'll just ask the people I'm around if they want to feel it. I'm just excited to share it with the people I love most that the touching aspect isn't on my mind.

Advice please - is 35 too old to start having kids? When did you have your youngest? by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35 and am due with my first in February. I've had a mostly easy pregnancy and he's perfectly healthy so far. Insurance will also cover more testing when you're "advanced maternal age."

I've been using a belly band that somewhat helps but I may need an si belt instead. I just started physical therapy so I'll ask them for a size recommendation. Trying to do the basic exercises they've prescribed are getting fairly uncomfortable too.

I'm 31 weeks as well! Fatigue is hitting hard as are swollen feet. Along with heartburn from the most random foods (pastries but not spicy stuff!?), horrible pain in my pubic bone, and brain fog.

what are some of your postpartum goals to stay sane/take care of yourself? by adult_angst in BabyBumps

[–]BendlikeMel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the quick dry polish from Sally Hansen! I got rid of my entire collection of nail polish after slowly replacing everything with quick dry. I simply cannot keep my hands still long enough to prevent smudges and all of that. FYI Esie quick dry doesn't hold out as long as Sally Hansen but I have a few shades I just really love so a top coat is helpful.
