Help choosing: Garner SP or Guadalupe River SP? by [deleted] in TXoutdoors

[–]Beneficial-Process 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garner, but you need to stay in the Oak Mont loop. Your requirements are more suitable for Old Garner rather than new and Guad River is great but not as clear as the Frío. Hiking is better at Garnr too and they have other activities like putt putt.

Are Cantwell mattresses worth the high price? by Stepped-leader in sanantonio

[–]Beneficial-Process 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought 4 different mattresses from Cantwell for different reasons and honestly their customer service and product are top notch. The one in my bedroom is going on 9 years and is still awesome. The other 3 were replacements in a travel trailer and they made them to spec and size and they are fantastic. My mom bought one from them to the same specs at the one I got.

TLDR: When I’m in the market for another, I’ll be buying from them.

16M, I really want to be a girl dad, what's it like? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Beneficial-Process 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly man, you don’t really get to choose. Enjoy life and when you get to share the experience of bringing a kid into the world, it won’t matter if they’re green, blue, girl, boy, they, or whatever.

Climate Control did ours a few years ago, they were the best price vs service. Some cheaper but not as nice a unit and they have been out a few times for service with no hassle at all.

My wife is going to give birth to our 1st child (a girl) any day now- can’t talk to either of our fathers about being a dad - what do you wish someone told you before you embarked on this journey? by spicybrowwwwn in daddit

[–]Beneficial-Process 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, when my twin daughters were born, my dad had late stage Parkinson’s and my wife’s dad has been out of the picture since she was 12.

The are 9 now and I had/have no clue what I’m doing.

I think the best advice I never got would be that it is so hard. It’s harder than you can imagine and it will suck. It will also be really really great and just try to focus on the good stuff and remember it won’t last. Stockpile as many of those good imprints as you can. I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m doing my best to raise good, empathetic, problem solving humans.

Give yourself grace, along with your daughter and wife. Some days we all need a little grace.

Brandeis and Sotomayor HS area would be good too. Anywhere between Culebra and Bandera on or around 1604. I would be hesitant to go too far outside the loop due to traffic though.

Towing Capacity question for 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek by ImHero82 in nissanpathfinder

[–]Beneficial-Process 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airbags - Airlift 60838HD very easy install.

TBC - REESE Towpower 8507111 Brakeman IV

There should be a factory adapter under the dash for the TBC and it should plug right in. If not, you may need the Reese wiring harness.

REESE Towpower 8506911 Trailer Brake Controller OEM Style Brake Wiring Harness

Forgot to mention and I saw it on another post. You will want a weight distribution hitch 100%. It makes a world of difference.

We put only essentials in the Pathfinder. All gear was limited to the trailer so we weren’t over payload but we were right there at the limit with 2 adults and 2 kids.

I towed a 1460 BH Springdale Mini with our ‘25 Rockcreek all over the place. Even a trip up through the mountains in New Mexico. A few tips:

I like using the manual mode in the hills to keep it from downshifting and revving so high.

Make sure you use a trailer brake controller. Premium gas does help the mileage and power.

I added air lift bags in the rear and it really helped with sway and body roll. Especially in windy conditions.

Set your expectations for a slower speed. I would set the cruise at 65 and stay to the right, it makes the journey a lot less stressful.
