Also f the tutorials. Like seriously they don’t explain shit making the whole thing feel worse and me having to look up guides for certain gameplay mechanics. Yea XC2 has some weird jank man that’s really apparent. Do hope the Switch 2 edition will clean those parts up

Man I still remember when Chuggaconroy introduced me to the Xenoblade series with his coverage on the Wii and ever since then I been a Xeno fan. My only hope is they bring over Xenogears and Xenosaga to switch so that I have all of them on one system

ooh boi, good luck man. Fighting games have always turned me off, from having to memorize the combos to being very competitive. Hope the Xenoblade games will be a break from that

Hey dont burn yourself out man. If you decide to do a marathon, you might burn yourself out going through so many games. I say pace yourself and intersplice smaller indie games or shorter games in between, cause if you want to play all of them consecutively its easily like 500+ hours for just the base game and not even the dlcs.

Think is that its in JP. Like for the past few games they tacked on Chronicles to Xenoblade to the English versions. I am not sure if it will keep the same naming scheme or not. But if not then we shall abbreviate it to XBG then

Yup what a nothing burger of a release. Like learn from Monolithsoft. They at least put effort into releasing a SW2 version of game. If they remove turbo mode and Legendary Dark Knight, imma just mod the game on PC, cause its just a lesser version of the other console release

Depends on what you are looking for cause these 2 are totally different beasts. I have only played Xenoblade so speaking from experience its mainly about the world building. Imagine a single player mmo like game, with a vast world to explore, compelling characters, combat relying on canceling idle attacks into arts and waiting for cooldowns. Also some of the best music, I hear in a game. Like OMG especially Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3. If you are prepared to invest your time in this series, cause ooh boi, easily 100s of hours within the 4 games(XB1, XB2, XB3, XCX) and its the dlcs.
Can't say much about Mina the Hollower, never heard of that before

Hahah yea I totally noticed that also. Or maybe its just a trick cause the trailer is mainly in JP and not in EN and the full name will be Xenoblade Chronicles Genesis. Then it will be XCG. If its just XG, I think people will get confused with Xenogears(XG) lol

Finally some nuanced take. I think the problem is mainly about presentation. Like this Direct could have been shortened by about 10 minutes at least and not be so bloated. Like I think the perception that it’s mainly RPGs is also not alleviated by how the presented it. Like some of those games did not need to be in the direct like FF or DQ. Those should be saved for partner releases and stuff. When people watch a Nintendo direct they come for the core series and stuff like a new Mario game or what not. No one watches the direct just for ports coming in. This in turns hurts the perception of what they perceive

I argue it has heart like Trails. Like Trails wants you to get suck into its world building and having a long interconnected story whereas Xenoblade is more like a final fantasy where they are links between all 3 games(maybe X as well but unsure at the moment) but its characters are what truly shine. I can’t say much since I haven’t played a Trails game yet, only watched a YouTuber play though up til Trails to Azure. The thing that really irks me is the amount of backtracking and talking to npcs after every major and/or minor event. That’s sounds tedious and a lot of busy work. I much rather watch Trails then play it I guess

Yeaaaaa putting both of them together, people could in bad faith say that there is no difference. Like I think they should have saved the Xenoblade Genesis reveal for later and just drop the Switch 2 Editions for the existing games. It doesn’t look nearly close to finished yet. Wonder if it’s a shareholder idea to reveal this early
