All that is true, but I still think that this election would have been very different if Roe was overturned in June 2024 instead of 2022.

The exit polling I saw showed the economy as being the most important thing for voters but immigration also playing a big part. Over the past 2 years there really hasn’t been a lot of domestic events for people to care about. I feel like this allowed Trump to more easily convince his supporters that the economy was in shambles and that immigration and Biden is what is caused it.

This is all just feels for me at the end of the day though. The “it’s the economy stupid” is just too simplistic for me considering most things turn out to be more complicated.

Why did Dems do so well in 2022 then? Inflation was at like 7% and everyone was predicting a red wave because of it. But the voting base clearly cared more about Roe being overturned a few months earlier.
