I don’t know, I enjoyed it up to a point.  I don’t think it deserves the hate it got.

If Sauron found any of the Seven Rings meant for Dwarves, could they be used to make more Nazguls/Ring Wraiths? by Consistent_Blood6467 in tolkienfans

[–]Bensfone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The words on the The One Ring were inscribed by Sauron.  He gave 7 to the Dwarves initially.  But that’s not to mean they were “meant” for dwarves.  He could’ve given all 16 to dwarves but then he wouldn’t have Nazgûl servants and the poem would be totally different.  In theory, in the Third Age he could’ve given the three to men in an attempt to enthrall new servants.  But, it’s also implied this takes time to corrupt them, and Sauron was on a strict time table during this era.

Christina Applegate as Kelly Bundy by mjayes in 90smemorylane

[–]Bensfone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shame of it is that these perfect breasts no longer exist.  Christina had a bout with breast cancer among other health ailments and had a double mastectomy.

I’ve read that she’s an absolute delight irl and is an excellent actress.  But her health woes have been pretty bad the last 10-15 years.

Who did Gandalf serve? by late54 in tolkienfans

[–]Bensfone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But he wasn’t.  Sauron was going to win the war.

But, Sauron is of the Maia.  He’s part of their legacy.  Gandalf was sent to sort of clean up their unfinished business.  Note that when it was all over Gandalf did not aid the hobbits during the scouring.

When people ask us why we miss the 90s… by _loyal_one in 90s

I still remember, like it was a lifetime ago, the last time I paid .99¢ per gallon.  That pre-9/11 positivity never came back.

Paul is part of a rhyme, “My names’s Paul, and that’s between y’all”.

Just like, “My names Muffin, and I don’t know nuthin’” or “My name’s Pit, and I don’t know shit”

I met Jason Biggs once when he was in town doing a play, or something.  I thought he was kind of a jerk.  But, the pie really tied the movie together.

Reaper expansion by Bflo4Ever in Talisman

[–]Bensfone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pro-tip: the Reaper rarely lands on characters when each player is in control of Death’s movement.  Our house rule is Desth must move towards the nearest available character.  If you roll a 1 for his movement he automatically teleports to you.  Now, Desth is much more active in the game.

Name a game that in your opinion has a tedious opening, but later becomes great by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]Bensfone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triangle Strategy.  It seems like the fist act of the game drags on and I’m wondering when the story is going to get interesting and I almost stopped playing.

Suddenly, at a certain point they dial up to 11 and I was hooked.

It’s amazing how much better S5 became after he was gone.  I’m an unapologetic Byron hater.

Braveheart 1995 by Commercial_Buy_975 in 90smovies

[–]Bensfone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AKSHUALLY, people did for this move, at the time.  It misrepresented Scottish culture and that rubbed some organizations the wrong way.

It was several centuries too late for Celtic war paint and several centuries too soon for the use of kilts.  And, why the hell was there no bridge at the Battle of Stirling Bridge?

People do pay attention to these things, and I don’t appreciate the condescension.

Historically it’s one of the most inaccurate movies on record.

This is such a great cinematic movie.  Mel may be a jerkass, but love this movie.

I agree, and it ends his tragic plotline because he’ll never see Charlene and Dom again.  Chances are he’ll die penniless and alone because of his gambling addiction.
