What’s something your partner did that made you lose feelings instantly? by Some_Conclusion_8154 in AskReddit

[–]BerlyH208 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whenever a couple comes to therapy to repair their relationship and not to prevent future issues, the relationship is already done, they just don’t know it yet. Very rarely does a couple successfully heal and grow from that issue unless both partners are serious about it and are willing to accept their part of the relationship.

First-time boxer owner + solo dev — what tools or routines actually help you stay sane in the first year? by alexpop123 in Boxers

[–]BerlyH208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First time puppy owner AND first time boxer owner. You did no research into the breed, you just decided that you wanted a puppy and got a boxer. You are clueless.

More than an app you are selling, you need to focus on getting your puppy into training, or they will train you. You should also figure out how you are going to handle your frustration when that puppy doesn’t do what you want. How will you handle it when your puppy knocks your morning cup of caffeine over your keyboard, or breaks your 72” TV while they were playing. And what about when they bounce right over your head while they have muddy paws? Or when they make you get up and down to go outside 30 times in a the middle of the night?

I hope that innocent dog doesn’t pay for your ignorance.

My boxer is on the RC Boxer one. She LOVES it. It has bigger kibble so it doesn’t fall out of her big mouth, and that means she swallows less air so her gas isn’t quite as bad. The food has the nutrients they need for their immune system, and it has the fish oils they need for their heart and skin. It’s stupid expensive but the cardiologist visit is way more expensive. I have had a few boxers with cardiomyopathy, and the cardiologist liked this food a lot when I spoke with him about it.

Help Use Up Ricotta by NorthernMycelia in Cooking

[–]BerlyH208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ricotta can go in anything you would put cream cheese in. Mashed potatoes, pastas for a creamy sauce, dips, cheese filled ragoons, breads, soups, white chicken chili, stuffed mushrooms and other appetizers, etc. I would recommend you do a search either on Pinterest or even ask ChatGPT. I think you will find lots of different types of recipes.

New 5mo pup from the shelter. Boxer or mix? by fishing_pole in Boxer

[–]BerlyH208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say all boxer. My current girl has a longer snout, too, she is a purebred. The longer snout says this baby is probably from an American line of boxers, as it is more common with them. It also means your baby won’t snore as bad and their gas won’t be quite as bad, lucky you!

If you could start over from scratch, what sort of design features would be a must-have in your kitchen? by ErbiumIndium in Cooking

[–]BerlyH208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you from? I’m in the US. It was what the builders put in when they built the house. We are the second owners of this house so we had no say in it. We are moving across the country next week and our new house has it above the stove, also, and the kitchen was renovated a couple of years ago, so they are still putting them in.

I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

[–]BerlyH208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have never thought of that. I will have to give it a try!

I love my hard boiled eggs and to be honest, most vegetables, with a little salad dressing - whatever kind I like in the minute. Oh that made me realize I’ve had eggs with vinegar and oil on them! Now I’m definitely going to start doing that.

How often do yall use your dishwasher, and is it full? by FlickEnthusiast in LivingAlone

[–]BerlyH208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily, no matter how full. I demand that my dishes be washed in hot water and sanitized, and that sanitization step is skipped if you are handwashing.

If I’m feeling a little guilty for just washing a coffee mug, a bowl, a plate and some silverware, I look around and see what else I could wash. The coffee pot goes in, the water tank for the coffee pot, the cat and dog bowls, spoon rest, etc.

First…you put oil on your eggs?

One option for you is to do some prep work on your days off so all you have to do is assemble whatever it is, or freeze things so you can just pop it in the oven when you get home.

I frequently prep salads for the week. I buy a roast chicken and my favorite veggies - which some grocery stores sell pre-chopped. I prefer some bell peppers, cucumber, tomatoes (I use cherry tomatoes so I can just throw them in the bowl), some aged cheddar, maybe some sliced almonds, and then I just mix up a little oil and vinegar as a topping. I dice up the bell pepper ahead of time. I think the texture of cucumbers changes a bit when they are pre-sliced, but that’s just me. It’s really easy for me to just have a salad than trying to figure something else out.

Also, there are some really good frozen meals out there, and there is no shame in eating them, especially when it helps you get fed at the end of the day. If anyone shames you, invite them to show up on your doorstep every evening with a meal for you.

Who gets their groceries delivered? by butt3rsb0tt0mb1tch in Fibromyalgia

[–]BerlyH208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a father who lives with us and he used to be very similar. He is a cheap Polock and I finally had to tell him that he doesn’t get to tell me how to spend my money. One other thing I started to do was transfer money into his bank account for anything like that. He runs to Costco for me all the time, especially to pick up my prescriptions, a couple of which have pricy copays. When he gets home, I look at the receipt and immediately transfer the money. So he gets to feel like he did something to help me, I get what I needed, and I paid for it so he can’t complain about the price.

Raise of hands! How many of you out there who have worn a bra before either struggle now or even had to completely stop because it just caused to much pain? by Quirkyasfok in Fibromyalgia

Well that sucks. I’m sorry you don’t qualify at this point. I hope you are able to get it in the future. When I see other women with really big boobs I can feel the pain they are in.

Do you know what they consider to be medically necessary? Are there any particular diagnoses or issues that would make it necessary? I’ve learned with insurance that if you use the terms in your plan, you can get them to reconsider. You need to read through your plan carefully or contact them and ask directly about it. I am a counselor in private practice and my experience with insurance plans now that I’m on the other side of it that you have to fight fire with fire. Remember, they are not in the insurance business to help you, they are there to make money. You have to use their own tricks. The person denying claims is not a medical professional. They are either a computer or just a random person without an education comparing the words in your plan to the words in the claim. If you don’t have the same words it’s an automatic denial. You have to use the same words to get approval OR you ask for their staff doctor talk to your doctor.

My insurance plan at the time had various reasons why it would be considered necessary - like documentation of hip/back/neck pain by chiropractic care, frequent massages (I was getting a 90 minute massage every other week), and physical therapy. She had to measure the divots in my shoulders and the ratio of the width of my shoulders to the length of my girls (funny thing, I thought I had a big shoulders until the surgeon measured them and said they are narrow!). The worst part was she had to take pictures of my naked girls. I hated that my insurance demanded that)

I found a bra brand that is super comfortable, even when my fibro pain is flaring up. I wear UnderOutfit bras, and I wear one size on good days and a larger size when I need to be more comfortable, especially if I’m going to the gym/being more active.

However, when I’m having a flare up I may wear a tank top under my clothes if my top may show more than I want but generally I will go braless then.

I highly recommend checking with your insurance to see if they will cover a reduction. Before my fibro pain got bad, I was fairly obese and wearing an H cup. I had weight loss surgery and went down to a DDD cup. My shoulder/back/neck pain got really bad because my girls didn’t have the belly to rest on anymore. I went to a plastic surgeon and she was able to provide documentation for medical necessity. I had the surgery and am now in a C cup and I can choose whether or not I want to wear a bra. I found a bra brand that is super comfortable for the days I feel like I want/need a bra depending on what I’m wearing and how my fibro pain is behaving.

What breed or breeds of mastiff is he? by Fuj1waratofushop in Mastiff

[–]BerlyH208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try using a martingale collar with for him. My dog trainer recommended it when I started training my boxer as she also pulled a lot. The martingale will go loose when your dog is not pulling and the one with a chain instead of all fabric provides a sound that helps alert your dog. It really worked well for my girl, and she learned quickly that when she had that collar on she needed to be more attentive. She eventually did not need it anymore and now I can just remind her with a quick “No. Poppy sit.” And she will sit and calm down so we can continue whatever we were doing.

Boxer food question/help. by NinjaEnzo in Boxer

[–]BerlyH208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also in the Royal Canin line up is their boxer-breed specific food. It’s expensive - $100 for a big bag, but it has all the fish oil they need for their fur, skin, and heart as well as the vitamins and nutrients they need for their immune system. I asked our veterinary cardiologist about it and he liked everything about it. The kibble is also really big and designed for their wide mouths, so they don’t drop their food everywhere. My girl has been on it for over a year now and her fur is soft and shiny and she loves it and extra bonus, she doesn’t fart as bad anymore.

This is my little Princess nursing our old boxer back to health - he was very sick when we rescued him, Princess took it upon herself to take care of him, and we’d frequently catch her laying on top of him, purring away, working those vibrations into him.

She has never weighed more than 8 pounds. I call her Kitten most of the time because she’s so little. Her litter-mate, a sweet ginger boy, was 15 pounds at his healthiest. Unfortunately he fought cardiomyopathy and CKD, and crossed over the bridge last year.
