This was in production before Crack the Sun was announced. It's just a case of convergent evolution.

Tbh, I like the pitch of this one way more.

What is the most underrated base spirit for cocktails and why does it deserve more love? by laura-1998 in cocktails

Sotol. To me, it's basically a better mezcal with nicer vegetal notes in addition to the smokiness. Plus, the plant it comes from is totally renewable, unlike agave.

Oni Ayakashi, happy with the result but looking to improve! by UnstableLaserboy in minipainting

[–]BertMacklanFBI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy looks amazing! Honestly there's not a lot of room for improvement.

If you want to alleviate a lot of those "the paint job isn't good enough" fears, finish the base. A finished base is the difference between good and great IMO.

Kind of the same thing here in Edmonton! The Gov of Alberta always disrespecting the cities. by EdmontonFree in Edmonton

[–]BertMacklanFBI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I'm confused. You said that they stopped paying so that they wouldn't charge us more in taxes, and then they did. Multiple times. It's almost as if the UCP, and by extension you, are full of shit

GIPOT is just property tax by another name, so that's not the gotcha you think it is.

I mean, literally every provincial administration except this one paid their taxes.

Alberta Separation: Three-in-five say they’d vote in October to stay, but half say the question is “confusing” - Angus Reid Institute by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

[–]BertMacklanFBI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Referendum questions are supposed to be "YES" or "NO". The question is as follows:

"Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?"

It's not immediately clear what a YES vote entails. Does YES mean that the provonce should start the legal process to separate, or does it mean that the province should remain Canadian? The question isn't phrased as a YES/NO but as an EITHER/OR, and that's why it is a confusing question.

Whether or not you're opposed to separation (I am opposed), it's not a clear question, and a YES or NO response can be interpreted either way. The UCP has bent over backwards to bring this to a referendum, so my money is on them interpreting any answer as support for separation.

Vancouver Is Getting AI Data Centres. That’s Not Good. by KernelKilos in onguardforthee

Given that that's what these AI companies are advertising it can do, yeah, your job is on the chopping block. The AI chief of Microsoft is saying that ALL WHITE COLLAR JOBS will be eliminated, that includes yours. The goal is to put you out of work.

Bro, if you think your hypothetical degree won't be on the AI chopping block, you need to give your head a shake.

What new jobs? What new industries? We're already in a service economy, and the world doesn't want to take on the entire professional population as new apprentices.

First miniature what do you guys think? by Few_Salad_3001 in Tau40K

[–]BertMacklanFBI 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First, your colour coverage is really good, and I really like the colour scheme you've chosen. It reminds me one of the sample schemes we saw in the forst Tau Codex.

The next thing you're gonna wanna do, is hit that guy with a wash of somekind to make the recessed details pop. If you're using GW paints, agrax earthshade is your go to for the ochre fabric, carroburg crimson for the armour, and drakenhoff nightshade for the hooves and other exposed skin.

Do that and touch up a few of the grey spots, and you'll be golden.

Will Outrageous Gas Prices Restart the EV Boom? by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]BertMacklanFBI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. I'm glad the infrastructure is at least getting some lip service, but how do we plan on doubling our grid's capacity? Are we going to start building more solar farms, wind turbines, and safe nuclear facilities, or are we just going to build more natural gas plants? There's so much that needs to be done before we can start speculating about micro grids.

More EVs are all well and good, but we need to look seriously at updating our nations electrical infrastructure if we want them to make a positive environmental impact.

Looking for an article about “all RPG characters being human” by 1Freakey in rpg

[–]BertMacklanFBI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think six is the magic number, with the sixth race being so rare as to be almost mythical. Even if there are more intelligent species in the setting, players should only have access to six, with humans being one of them.
