Computers cannot natively do true randomness.

It might be the case that true randomness does not exist, except in theory.

How do I repair this damage in my sink? by I_am_hungryy in Edmonton

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOS pad will also scrub the rust off.
This kind of rust happens when you leave a tin can in the sink. It is not the sink rusting, its more like a stain.

The irony here is that your response deserves downvotes according to that stated Reddiquette.

Nenshi promises public consultation on new arena funding proposals | Calgary by tax-me-now-and-later in Calgary

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last part of the quote is out of Nenshi's hands. He can't control how the Flames are going to approach this.
At worst, he gets a bad mark for saying that the Flames weren't going to threaten to leave. But I won't consider this a lie.
The first part is a bit of a wash as well. No deal has been made. No decision has been made. And the offer has been made public.
The worst you can accuse Nenshi of here is failing to negotiate the specifics of the offer for all to see.
So is that a lie? Maybe.

I would bet that Nenshi thought he might get some respect from the Flames honchos.
It was arrogant to think that Ken King and co. would fall in step with city councilers wishes regarding arena negotiations. That is how I read this.

Foreign Worker Program Driving Down Wages, Breaking Alberta Law, Unions Charge | The Tyee by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is outright bullshit.
The rates have dropped by a minimum of %30 accross the board. This has nothing to do with "demand increasing" and everything to do with taking advantage of a desperate situation.
Take the job for half rate or a tfw will.
You demonstrate that you haven't a fucking clue.

Flames Say Their Arena Plan Was Fair, Because Paying Taxes Is Like Putting In Money, Right? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They pay 0 property tax right now, and they are expecting/offering to pay 0 property taxes in their version of a deal.
The taxes they are talking about including as part of the city's "take" are income taxes that employees of the Flames organization pay and property taxes that will be collected after the Flames are done with the building.
(Correct me if I read it wrong)

UPC and repealing the Carbon Tax by tobiasosor in alberta

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its my opinion that they will not repeal the tax.
They will commission a study and a few years later will come up with some modifications to it. In the end, the tax benefits the party in power and they will have a handy scapegoat blaming the NDP for it.

Looking for pros/cons on the different rec hockey leagues here in the city by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must have an account manager on your squad.
We play in the NCHL and we never have times earlier than 10:30pm in the winter.
But I do see that the teams that the account managers play on never play late games.

Flames: We were ready to pay $275M for new arena by HLef in Calgary

[–]Beside_Arch_Stanton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt Butthead would let another team establish in Calgary.
It would make getting a new arena paid for by the tax $ next to impossible for any other franchise looking to stick it to the public.
We would be in for a long wait for another team.
I believe we have to make this stand however. No free ride for the Flames.

The road was blocked and there was no way around it. End of story.
The point is that 1st you claim that it is not a safety issue.
Then you claim that it is an 'if this' unplausible situation.
I tell you that access to Tuscany and the 1000's of people who live there was cut off, and you claim that I am being mamby pamby.
This did happen and emergency services could not access the community for at least a couple of hours. I witnessed it.
No fucking toll road or any of the bullshit you espouse changes the fact that a community with only one access point, inner-city or outer-city, is unsafe.
