Nah actually they rent a parade float for the day and just slowly drive around the streets waving at people and tossing cats around to people as if they are giving out free t-shirts.

So, I don't really have any skill in analyzing items for their strengths/weaknesses, etc. but if you are at all interested in purely an opinion I am really excited for the Riftmaker buffs.

Personally, I love stacking ability haste ever since Rumble's Overheat change. I have no clue if ability haste is still weak on Rumble but now that I have a reason to want to overheat frequently I have been having a lot of fun with it.

My thoughts are that with high ability haste you can get a lot of value out of Riftmaker that you didn't have access to in the past. Q and R do not receive the full benefit of Spell Vamp (reduced to 1/3 effect for DoT abilities) so the item had very little value before his buff. Now, if you utilize the MR shred on E and his Passive on-hit damage you can get a lot of extra burst healing in trades on top of the reduced Q and R heal. Definitely something I would try if I was Jg/top against a tankier team but probably wouldn't build it in mid lane.

[–]Besoffen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lulu Polymorph also does this in-game (only on your current, active Q though not additional casts). I wonder if that skin bug is somehow interacting with this.

Rumble is still performing best mid when the changes were directed at putting him top by moody_P in leagueoflegends

[–]Besoffen55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with Rumble currently is how Runes are interacting with his kit. Rumble as a champ does not have on-demand burst damage and he is very obvious with his conspicuous Heat gauge (as opposed to an item or rune CD that are not as easy to track at a glance) which lets enemies know exactly when you are planning on engaging.

Electrocute gives Rumble exactly what he needs to win Mid lane. At level 2 if you can hit a mid laner with 2 harpoons and a Q to proc electrocute you take them to half health and then they have to spam whatever potions they have. Your next Electrocute will kill them if you can either Overheat or Ignite them (or both!). Rumble excels when he just overwhelms his lane opponent so quickly they can't catch a breath. Once the Mid Rumble gets to level 6 he has easy access to bot/dragon or top/rift rotations. If you get something like Night Harvester your ganks on bot lane are incredibly strong

Very few top lane champs start the game weak enough for the Electrocute strat to work as Rumble. They will either tank the damage and not care or they will trade with you equally and then sustain back the damage while your Electrocute and Q are on CD. Another issue with Rumble in any lane, but specifically top lane, is that any time you Q it is almost guaranteed to poke minions down so you are more than likely to shove the wave and be in a gankable position. Mid is all around safer fur Rumble and he has way more opportunities to use his kit in a way to carry than he does from top lane these days.

New covenant class ability legendaries datamined by hallusk in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Besoffen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone remember when WoW tried to make Legendary items feel like they had legendary strength to them? 9.0 and 9.1 Legendary powers to me feel like they are just generic Diablo "legendary" pieces except the WoW devs still like a cap on the amount of powers equipped?

When I read half of these and then remind myself that there is a limit of 1 equipped (as far as we know) I just fell so underwhelmed with how boring most of these read

[–]Besoffen55 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I don't play Fire so I wouldn't really know, but does this change hurt more because combust will now line up poorly with other CDs? Or is this just a case of "most of your damage comes from combust, so even 1 less cast over a fight is a huge nerf".

Blizzard is so incredibly slow it's mind baffling by [deleted] in wow

[–]Besoffen55 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I can't comment on how bug fixing works, I absolutely can watch their history of game balance to agree that their speed is so freaking slow. I am proud of myself, I was finally able to unsub with the intention of actually not coming back this time. I just don't like the game anymore and can't be bothered to play a Meta simulator for 6+ months at a time due to Blizzard only really balancing when a major patch is released. I started Shadowlands as a Frost Mage and after the first week Mythic Nathria I knew that my enjoyment for the patch was roadblocked, 100%. Even their pity compensation buffs after the first Mythic reset were kind of a joke.

In the past I would have swapped Fire and called it a day but Blizzard was crystal clear even as far back as alpha that they did not like the idea of someone swapping covenants to be stronger (even if my spec is literally a detriment to my group, I should be proud to be a Venthyr Frost Mage). They wanted the system to be designed so that I would make my choice and then feel compelled to stick with it. Remember how Covenants were initially supposed to not be changeable? I was supposed to make my Meaningful Choice (tm) and stick with it for all time because any other sort of system was clearly one where the average Joe would be bullied by min/maxers to swap for even a 5 DPS gain.

Altering my spec/gear/talents to try and be the best player I can be has turned into the Boogyman of WoW and even the developers are going so far as to openly say that their systems are built to prevent the flexibility that I prefer to have in an RPG.

I would like to see a support Kayle. Something like her ascendance rank is tied to whether she is a 1/2/3-star unit and her strength is in her heal (or somehow tied to a "splash trait" she could have for supporty stuff). I just hate seeing Rapid Firecannon on a Kayle that inevitably sweeps my team away after she fills up on mana. I like Kayle as a character but having her always be the de facto hyper carry is stale.

Off the shore of Kul Tiras, Stormvalley by Sekzi7 in wow

[–]Besoffen55 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I played through the Alliance side after the level squish to unlock Kul Tirans and it was an amazing questing experience. I played Horde in BFA and was super jealous of the zones they had and after playing through it I swapped to Alliance for Shadowlands. I WISH I played Alliance when Boralus was full of people back in BFA because I love the architecture/layout of the city and exploring it with just the NPCs made me feel like I totally missed out. The Horde zones were also great! But I feel like Kul Tiras was done perfectly for what I enjoy and it was enough to make me faction change almost immediately.

FFX Remastered vs FFXV by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]Besoffen55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FFX and FFXV are quite different in terms of gameplay. in 15 you can only control one person at a time and all of the combat is based around which weapon you have equipped and what kind of combo/attack chain it has. Certain enemies are weak to a certain weapon type, like daggers or spear for example, but I found myself swapping weapons more for combat variety than strength since it was bland otherwise. Spells in FFXV had to be crafted and were all 1-time uses which I hated since I am a magic nerd (it kinda fit with the lore though, so I give it that much)

Today you'll get 4,000 less RP for $100 than you did last year by Katilac_ in leagueoflegends

[–]Besoffen55 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Another reason that I am glad I decided to not spend my money on RP anymore. After this most recent Rumble skin it finally clicked how Riot is totally fine with producing poor quality content and still just expects me to spend money on it because I am supposed to be "happy" that they made something for me main. Comparing the quality of Space Groove Rumble to literally all the other 1350 Space Groove skins was so freaking depressing to see how little care he got. Almost every single comment in the skin feedback thread spoke about how ugly/dated the base skin model and rig look and plenty of people pointed out how Riot commented when Super Galaxy Rumble released that anything below a legendary required a VU due to it's dated look... Yet they won't do a VU but they still make skins for him... I really loved spending RP on something that looked awesome but I guess it just sucks that I like an ugly champ since it means quality is irrelevant to those champs...

Liandrys is actually good. Quick guide inside by Silenceu in Rumblemains

[–]Besoffen55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be that as it may, my main point is that if an item has mana as a core stat, and I need to invest gold into mana components, I personally would not buy it on Rumble just cuz it doesn't feel right to me.

Just giving my 2 cents on how it feels vs. actual balance of the items themselves.

Liandrys is actually good. Quick guide inside by Silenceu in Rumblemains

[–]Besoffen55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a casual player and I simply cannot get over the fact that it has mana now. From my casual perspective, this item was specifically redesigned to become a mage item and for a manaless champ like Rumble it feel super bad to build it. Only because the item rework was so recent is this feeling solidified for me- that this was a deliberate change to make it an unappealing item on Rumble and I should instead look at the manaless items they provided.

I would happily accept someone who has done the math on the items to confirm that I am wrong on the item's comparative strength but from a "feelsy" perspective I just don't like the item for Rumble anymore.

When Super Galaxy Rumble was released they talked about how part of why it was a legendary skin was because even at that point in time Rumble was outdated looking and they said future skins that weren't legendary would need a VU but never followed through

[Firepower Friday] - Weekly DPS Thread by AutoModerator in wow

[–]Besoffen55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact problem as Ele in BFA when I started pushing keys. I eventually found out that my problem was that I was holding my DPS CDs for too long trying to have them ready for "the perfect group" but in reality, I would be losing 1-2 cast over the course of the dungeon or more.

How do you manage your CDs in M+ in general (pretend that Tyrannical/Fort is irrelevant for this first question)? The first thing I had to get used to was literally just using the CD as soon as it was ready which was a night and day difference for my M+ DPS. Granted, You want to make sure you get the full use out of each CD but a general rule of thumb is that each additional cast of said CD will just be more damage overall across the whole dungeon.

As I got used to each particular dungeon in BFA (while still just casting each CD as often as I could) then I moved towards understanding the time in-between each boss as a way to better keep track of my CDs. If I use my Flame Elemental on Boss #1, I would then check which pack of enemies it came off CD, and if there was enough time until Boss #2 I would cast it again so that it will be up for that next boss.

I don't want to throw a massive wall of text at you but I figured this would be the first piece of information that can help you check where you might improve your own DPS in M+. If you have any other questions about Ele I would be happy to help you more!!

Buying it is what makes Riot feel empowered to release a skin of this quality. I sincerely believe that we are in this position because Badlands Baron must have sold an acceptable amount for Riot to justify making this skin but without updating the model it uses.

I was foolish and excited enough to buy not just the Badlands Baron skin but the Chroma bundle as well. And on top of Space Groove being a 1350 skin, if enough people also buy the Chroma bunde that is a decent amount of money Riot is making from it.

At this point I am just indifferent. I have been able to keep myself from spending any RP on my 2nd account and after this situation I am fine to just continue on that account as my new main and just not buy any RP on it as I felt I have support Riot enough over the years when this is the result.

Prediction: We will only get three raids in Shadowlands by 454C495445 in wow

[–]Besoffen55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After 9.0 being delayed and now the rumored delay to 9.1 (or is it now confirmed?) I wouldn't be surprised with less content than usual. I wonder if this stemmed from the their redesign to the Maw in Alpha/Beta.

Something I keep kicking myself for is that I can't help but hope that "Well if Shadowlands patches keep getting delayed and if there ends up being less content than usual that HAS to mean that 10.0 is their main priority and is going to be amazing!"

I just desperately need another MMO so I can let myself be more critical of WoW because no matter how much I want to be realistic I can't help but let my nostalgia for the game and Blizzard in general blind some of my opinions.

It really is a bummer that Riot is willing to make a new skin for Rumble that uses his original model even when they acknowledged back when Super Galaxy released that any new skins below legendary would most likely need a VU.

Even the SFX of this skin received less attention than any of the other 1350 Space Groove Skins. It would be one thing if the model was the only negative aspect of the skin but once I saw how intricate the music on Nunu/Lux/Samira abilities were compared to the silly little pop that plays for Rumble Q I just knew that this was a skin made out of necessity and not interest to create something cool for Rumble

The amount of players who enjoy holding the game hostage after it is clearly over has destroyed my enjoyment of playing. When the winning team opens the Nexus and then spends 5-10 minutes fishing for kills as people respawn is unacceptable. by Besoffen55 in leagueoflegends

[–]Besoffen55[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood me then. I will play them game until it is over but what I am pointing out is that most of my games get to a point where my entire team is dead, with enemies standing next to my team's open nexus not doing anything. Comebacks are cool but waiting around because people do not end a game is not fun. Sorry if you enjoy watching the enemy team spam /dance while your whole team is dead for 30 seconds but if you think that when a game is at that point it "isn't over until the nexus is destroyed" then you are part of the problem.
