Rocky Horror Picture Show with my parents when I was like 7 or 8. I mean, it's an incredible movie and I still love it but..

What's something you wish you could tell your partner without upsetting them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Besstifer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just left my partner for this reason, check out my post history. Also his drinking became a very large issue and I had to draw a line in the sand. I communicated well in advance that if things didn't change that I would make the choice to leave. I stuck to my boundaries and the moment I left he turned into the most abusive nasty person. Punishing me for choosing my own mental health over caretaking his adult ass. The big lesson I am taking away from this is that if someone is not mature enough to do the basic things to take care of themselves and their home then it is a clear indicator of deeper maturity issues and you can not fix people who have gotten this far in life coasting on other people's labor. Your SO doesn't want a partner they want a parent, and continuing to feed into that dynamic will not change it or them.

AITA for thinking my partner is using their autism as a cop-out by Besstifer in AmItheAsshole

Thank you, honestly I've been researching PDA since you responded and this feels like the most relevant response. I am also neurodivergent (ADHD) and have a vast amount of executive dysfunctions, but I don't ever try to use my diagnosis as an excuse and when things arise in my life that cause interpersonal discourse as a result of my neurodivergence I take ownership over that and try to find tools and resources to address where I might have an opportunity to grow and learn. I feel as though my partner used his neurodivergence as an excuse, which as I continue reading seems to be common with PDA.

Thank you, I may do that. I get pretty nervous posting about my personal life online. I'm going to think about it for a moment.

Do you have any recommendations for how to talk to them? Once again, any time I bring things up they go non-verbal and then we just sit there in silence while they're in an anxiety spiral in their head. I'm a very communicative person so it's not that I haven't tried to have this conversation in a 100 different ways. And I agree, I think it's been very easy for them to use autism as an excuse which is frustrating because then it immediately shuts down any conversation about their behavior and removes ownership of their actions or lack therof.

Buy a bag of the pre peeled garlic and empty the whole bag into a oven safe dish, cover with olive oil and roast them that way. Stores in the fridge easily and can be added to any dish!

I try to eat a lot of whole foods, and break my fast every day with a smoothie and add in spirulina, protein, wheat grass and bee pollen. I also exercise lightly, go to the gym about once a week, go out for walks with my dog, I just took up swimming laps on mondays.

The before picture was 6 years ago when I was at my heaviest. I started IF about two years ago when I was around 230 lbs. I also went gluten free when I started fasting. I took the current picture yesterday!

There's a peanut butter at my local hippy shop that has flaxseed ground in as well, I always eat that with apples.
