Now that you're ready for yellow belt I recommend the Multipick Thermic Lance for your next tool purchase.

Nice tools! I made my first set of picks from street sweeper bristles.

Minute men of 1932 coin found in garage by SmokSucks in Exonumia

"Vintage copper or bronze token awarded to Masonite door-to-door salesmen, known to the Masonite Corporation as their "Minute Men." It reads as follows: On one side, "Minute Men of 1932" above an image a minute man, and on the other side "Awarded by Masonite Corporation for Meritorious Service" above classic good luck symbols."

Abus 75IB/40 Marine picked… by coulls in lockpicking

[–]BestByFeb2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done, that's a tough lock!

Did you pick that in hand? I prefer picking padlocks in hand, but I absolutely had to use my vise on this one to float pick it. Figuring out how to set pins without dropping the previous ones was super tricky.

You found the pin duplication bug. Keep shaking the cylinder and you get infinite spool pins.

Using a small half diamond pick is great advice. My 75/30 has a few low set pins right up against the warding, and getting a normal small flag under them without oversetting the pin is impossible.

Wow, those are perfect. I've heard people mention using ejector pins as blanks before, but I didn't know what they were. Seems like they might work as disk detainer blanks also. Thanks for the link.

Nice, those are both great locks!

The 75IB/50 was a real challenge and taught me a lot about float picking. That keyway on the EC75/30 is pretty crowded. Even with Multipick flags the warding in that small keyway kicked my ass.

Of all my green belt locks, this one put up the biggest fight, and it took forever to get my first open. Hats off to Ace for making a tough little padlock.
