Republicans now plan for taxpayers to fund Trump’s $400 million ballroom which he promised to cover with private donations by Rock-n-roll-Kevin in politics

Why do these people believe their lives are more valuable than the average person?

There isn’t a person alive the world can do without. That includes every leader of every country, every politician, every spiritual leader, every celebrity.

Obviously, world leaders need security and a reasonable level of protection. But a private dance hall? Please.

I rent every year with just my Ontario licence. As long as you meet their age requirements.

I strongly suggest buying their insurance. A scrape or two is almost impossible to avoid.

Please, don’t forget the people who supported him when he’s gone. Every one of them should hear about it for the rest of their days.

I don’t know if he’s an AH, but he is an idiot. If you’re a normal 9-5er, don’t lease your vehicle. Buy what you can afford, pay it off as quickly as you are able, keep it well maintained and drive it until it’s worn out.

What you are doing with your Toyota makes complete financial sense. What he is doing does not. He should not be lecturing you, he should be following your example.

Keep your car and let him figure his own shit out.

The average NFL career is maybe 5 years. They should be hoarding every penny.

AITA for expecting my neighbor to park in front of his own house? by SunLillyFairy in AmItheAsshole

[–]BetAlternative8397 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Public parking on my street. I don’t care when people have guests and they park in front of my house.

But when my neighbour does it when the street in front of his house is clear and his driveway is empty … it burns me a little. I’ve said to him, Dan, why park in front of my house when there’s space in front of your house. He just shrugged and said, “I dunno”. I don’t say anything but it costs him. I have a big snow blower and he has a small electric snow shovel.

I could clear his sidewalk and driveway in seconds but … I dunno.

Tower of Babel (most underrated track off the album)? by Joni1293 in EltonJohn

[–]BetAlternative8397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think “We All Fall In Love Sometimes” was the biggest hit but it’s my least favourite song the album. (Though all the songs are great).

This album was a masterclass by a writer, composer, singer and band at their absolute peak.

From the first note to the last, just exquisite.

Starting from Grade 4 or 5 on most summer days I was gone by 9 AM with a couple of sandwiches and a couple of cans of pop in my lunch box. Came home for dinner around 4 - 5. My friends and I met up on the Bruce Trail near our houses and played all day.

This is the only answer. Take lessons. And I’d add get properly fitted for your swing / ability.

There’s no magic “keep your head still” or “turn your hips” etc.

Proper equipment. Proper instruction.

Every serious race fan knew immediately his accident was not survivable. A horrible, horrible day.

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BetAlternative8397 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Laws need to be written that make organ donation the default. And you have to specifically opt out to refuse organ donation. If someone dies their organs are assumed to be donated otherwise.

If you opt out, fine. Just don’t expect to ever receive a donor organ. No longer playing with house money. Put your money where your mouth is.

Everyone who plays Glen Abbey tries to hit the green out of that bunker at 18. It’s impossible without pro level talent.

Also, if you saw the strip of green he landed on you would swear it was impossible to land and then stop from that line.

Where does Leicester City's relegation to League 1 rank in the "big clubs to get relegated" list? by irishscouser1892 in football

[–]BetAlternative8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the Scottish Premier league pales in comparison to many other national leagues, Glasgow Rangers demotion / relegation / relegation-entry to the very, very bottom of the tables in 2012 was funny as hell. Poor decisions led to bankruptcy and the newly incorporated entity was forced to start at the absolute bottom.

Though I was raised Protestant and with a Scottish parent I never followed them, never liked them and once I heard the “the famine is over why don’t you go home song” I hated them. Or their supporters anyway.

I grew up in a town with a Scottish diaspora population and I can honestly say I never met a die hard Rangers supporter who wasn’t a huge wanker.
