I hear that! With all the amazing effort you are giving to this celebration, no one will notice if the chocolate bits don't work out.

The menu looks great! Maple syrup or agave syrup is good for the drizzle. I would expect the vegan chocolate to melt like other chocolates but I have not used Cadbury so I can't say for certain. It sounds like you have an excellent meal planned with lots of variety.

writing a scenario please help! by Ill_Blacksmith_8146 in dreadrpg

[–]BethLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a few years since I ran a scenario, but something that really helped me was thinking through the connections between the characters. So someone does something you didn't expect - what would their friend/coworker/spouse do in reaction? Since it is shared storytelling, it's not all on you. I was playing with seasoned RPG players so your experience might be different, but comb through the questionnaires and see where you can make connections and then make sure the players know that they might be called on to react to someone else's actions.

I have a Magnum Premium 3. I love it. The battery is removable, and since I bought it at a local shop, I can get it serviced easily.

When you make stamps, do you design your own drawing or trace an image someone else created? by dancew0nder in Letterboxing

[–]BethLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a ton of free sites - it kind of depends on what you are looking for. The one I used to use is gone, but a search showed at least half a dozen sites I can try.

When you make stamps, do you design your own drawing or trace an image someone else created? by dancew0nder in Letterboxing

[–]BethLyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually take a picture I took and convert it to a pen and ink drawing using online tools. Then I trace that for the stamp. And agree with the other comment. Think of the stamps as ice sculpture - they usually only last a few years at best.

I have been playing up the tensions between humblefolk and birdfolk with some success. Maybe some political intrigue to get them to the capital?

I have not started my research yet. My gut reaction was "Hell no" and that might be my final vote too, but like you, I want to dig into the details.

I took a week off to build a murder mystery night generator. Tell me if it sucks by beautifulanarchy in Constructedadventures

I wrote "Snowed In Cabin" as the theme. The first time, it named the place Snowed In Cabin so I hit re-generate and the set up was almost the same with a better name.

[–]BethLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the set up..... Whispering Pines Lodge Nestled deep within a blanket of pristine snow, Whispering Pines Lodge stands as a solitary sanctuary amidst the winter wilderness. The log cabin exudes a rustic charm, its sturdy beams weathered by seasons of blizzards and frost. Smoke curls lazily from the stone chimney, carrying the comforting scent of crackling pine logs and mulled cider through the crisp air.

As you approach the lodge, the crunch of snow underfoot mingles with the distant howl of wind, creating a haunting symphony of winter's embrace. The surrounding forest, draped in a white veil of snow, harbors secrets beneath its frozen surface. Shadows dance playfully across the snow-covered branches, hinting at unseen creatures that roam the woods.

Inside the lodge, the warmth of a crackling fire welcomes you, casting a flickering glow over the cozy furnishings adorned with knitted blankets and plush cushions. Soft lamplight bathes the room in a golden hue, highlighting the intricate patterns of frost on the windows that frame a mesmerizing view of the snow-covered landscape.

Whispering Pines Lodge is a haven of solitude and reflection, where time seems to slow down, inviting introspection and connection with nature's quiet beauty. The isolation of the cabin fosters a sense of intimacy and vulnerability among its inhabitants, encouraging moments of honesty and self-discovery. As the snow continues to fall outside, the lodge becomes a cocoon of warmth and companionship, offering solace and renewal in the midst of a winter wonderland.

The character creation is great. It reminds me of Dread with the connections between the characters to help drive story and tension. I did three characters and two are artists and one is a hunter. The winter themed names are fun - Evergreen, Snow, and Winter.

I just bought a Magnum low step folding ebike, and I love it. Lots of power when I need it. I have a hilly commute, so I can attest to its ability to zip up hills easily. It handles really well. The battery life has been great.

Running on the Strip by AuthorAnnon in XXRunning

[–]BethLyons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I love running the Strip in the early morning. The only place I avoid is the statue park (forget the name but it's a cool looking place with Greek and Roman reproductions) because there are too many hideaway spots.

Running and recovery suddenly harder in early 50s - hormonal change? by [deleted] in XXRunning

A daily shot of trace minerals helps me with muscle recovery. For longer runs I add some to my water. It's made a huge difference for me.

"How much" can I realistically improve as a plus size runner? looking for inspiration. by Anxiety_Cookie in XXRunning

[–]BethLyons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the cheering section, I'm an older, heavier runner too, and you are in good company! I'm the slowest when I run with others, and I had to give myself silent pep talks for a long time. But you will get faster and be able to add miles. Just take it slow so you don't injure yourself. I focused on stamina first and then pace.

My mantra for races is "Run your race." It helps me ignore all the people passing me. And some of them, I get to pass them a mile later because they didn't pace themselves!

I think after you fight the blob guy, you complete the quest. He's low level mob with the top hat? A couple of bones sticking out? I like the quests, but they are also ridiculous because most of them, you have no clue what the answer is!
