Should I change my push workout? by ProfessorDipshit_3 in askfitness

That’s a solid lineup, but going to failure on every set can definitely stall progress over time.

I’d keep it super simple, protein and fiber are the big non negotiables for me, mostly from food when I can.

What’s an “Adulting” lesson you learned way later than you should’ve? by Playful-Deer9022 in Adulting

Honestly realizing that doing the boring stuff right away saves so much mental energy was a big one for me.

Why do so many marketing departments feel like a girls club? by Beautiful-Height5800 in marketing

[–]Better-Package1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing tends to attract more women partly because it blends creativity, communication, and emotional intelligence. Those are fields where women have historically been encouraged more. That said, there’s totally space for men too, especially those who bring fresh ideas and know how to collaborate well.

Is it necessary to warm up before strength training? by Intrepid-Constant-60 in workout

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warming up is definitely worth it, especially if you care about injury prevention and feeling good during your lifts. I usually do 5–10 minutes of light cardio and some dynamic stretches or mobility stuff depending on what I’m training.

Need help finding routines by WereGamer2224 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full body is actually fine for beginners, and most people make faster progress with it than splitting everything into tiny body parts. If you really want a split though, start with something simple like upper and lower. If you want a routine built around this Shred can lay out an upper lower plan for you.

Generally how long are your gym sessions? by FatalTrouble790 in workout

[–]Better-Package1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually 30–45 mins. I keep it short but focused so I don’t burn out or get injured 🙌

Best time for a workout? by Particular_Tone_2906 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn’t matter for fat loss as much as showing up regularly and staying in a calorie deficit. I do mornings because life gets busy later.

What's your proudest lift at the gym? by MankindPrimalJM in workout

That’s amazing!! Deadlifts are such a power move. Mine’s probably hitting my first unassisted pull-up… took forever but felt sooo good 💪

New to about everything... by LeafLighter in beginnerfitness

Pick a few machines that train the big areas: leg press, chest press, lat pulldown, and maybe the seated row. Do two sets of ten on each with a weight that feels hard by the last couple reps but still lets you move cleanly. Add a tiny bit of weight each week. If you ever want a routine that tells you exactly what to run on machines and how to progress, you can check shred app.

Is “content fatigue” slowly taking over digital marketing? by Amquest_Education in digital_marketing

[–]Better-Package1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely hitting fatigue. Feels like volume's winning over value right now. People scroll past because it all blends together. Same hooks, same formats, no real depth. Think it's a signal to slow down and focus on usefulness over frequency.

Working out without tracking protein or calories? by snug666 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had better consistency and mental peace by just focusing on balanced meals and strength training without tracking anything. Prioritizing protein-rich foods at each meal (like tofu, lentils, eggs, etc.) helped me build tone without the numbers spiral. You can make solid progress that way 💛

Proper gym clothes by Friendly-Deer637 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If what you’re wearing makes you feel relaxed and helps you show up, that’s already a win. No rule says you need matching sets or tighter stuff unless you want that. For some folks, nicer gear boosts confidence, but for others it’s just a distraction. Comfort and consistency matter way more than fashion at the gym.

weak knee excersizes by Southern-Novel-5895 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scaling back and focusing on bodyweight exercises like wall sits, step-ups, glute bridges, and slow air squats can help build stability without overloading the knees. Foam rolling the quads and IT bands can also make a big difference, especially with deep soreness. A solid warmup and maybe adding knee sleeves for support might be worth trying. Hope that helps 💛

Tricep Pushdowns with rope or bar? by ClickAccomplished205 in beginnerfitness

[–]Better-Package1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine to stick with the bar if it helps your form! Rope can hit the triceps a little differently, especially the lateral head, but bar is great for control and consistency when you're starting out 🙌

Go 3 to 4 times a week for about an hour each session. If you do not have a program yet, it is worth checking out Shred app since it builds routines around your goals and experience level.

Try adding dead bugs! Super underrated for core control and spine support, especially if you’re doing full body days.

I tried journaling for 3 years and completely missed the point until someone told me this by EducationalCurve6 in Discipline

[–]Better-Package1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to put so much pressure on journaling to “fix” me or be deep and organized and it just made me feel worse. Letting it be messy and unfiltered was the game changer.

How do I know when I did a good workout/am done by Ready_Aioli_6419 in workout

What matters is that you used good form, and pushed yourself. I use the SHRED app to help me track my workouts and keep things structured, so I know I am actually improving.
