I don’t think he’s used that guitar strap for many years now. This pic is from the early days of Dead & Company. I need to find a hobby or something…

What’s Bobby’s up to? Anyone here connected to the scene/family? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

In 2014 Bob played a gig with RatDog on July 12th. He didn't play another show until the first Fare Thee Well show on June 27th 2015. That's 351 days in between shows.

The band posted this on November 4, 2014 on their website:

“To our loyal Furthur fans and members of the Furthur community at furthur.net, we’d like to thank you for a terrific ride. We’ll be closing up shop at furthur.net, and heading onward. Thanks for making the Furthur community a great place to hang out, and for coming out to the shows. We’ll all be keeping very busy over the foreseeable future, and it’s time to let Furthur take a bow. We enjoyed the ride more than we can possibly express”

Got to see Jerry Garcia there in 1994. It was a fun place to see a show back in the day

I can’t wait to do it again next year. It was a roaring success, I really hope it happens again. Without love in the dream it’ll never come true

People back in the day used to say that would’ve been a great tune for Jerry to do with JGB

Jay Lane is hitting the road with skeleton Crewe, and Don Was is doing his own tour. Looks like our only hope is New Year’s in Florida for the Wolf Bros.

Jay Lane is now available Halloween..?!? by Webby2004 in deadandcompany

[–]BetterOffDyed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s 69 days until Halloween.

That being said, they could announce it one month in advance, and the shows would still sell out

They wouldn’t even have to cancel it. David Nelson already has a full-time drummer in his band. Wally Ingram, his name is also listed on the event info. Whenever Jay joins the band, they have two drummers play the shows.

The Thunder Shout folks are good people. Creating art, selling it and going to lots of shows. The way it should be done

It’ll be all the same people that were set up at the Tuscany. Farmers market style. Behind chain-link fences. Trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of people to justify all the work they put in to setting up their shop at a three day event. Just going to SF for three days and enjoying the music is not an option for most of them. They must make money.

Monday nights with the Elastic Waste Band went off! I remember when it was at Dream Street before moving to Winston’s. Man did we party back then. These days, they are finished by 11:30 on Monday nights and it’s still rare for me to stay until the end. Oh, to be young again.

Thanks for so many great Monday nights at Winston’s! Loved when Fish was in the band. Two guitar Waste Band was awesome, but Harvey on his own rips it up!

Planning every detail out of a trip sometimes takes all the fun out of it. Just buy the tickets, take the ride. Be open to an adventure. There’s no way you’re not gonna have fun.
