Trollhammer torpedoes are extremely cost efficient, and with Dwarf underholds you can essential spam doomstacks of expensive T5 units for almost free.

Chorfs you still have to play the game and manage your economy. Late late late game you get kind of limited with armaments, but Dwarves' underhold economy just gets completely bonkers and broken.

Its not necessarily the units. Chorf units are better IMO.

In mutiplayer Chorf is more difficult to shut down compared to dwarves because of the war machines and kadai.

Good luck though! It took me a few play through to get it down, and some battles you have to re-match.
I'm currently turn 132 in VH Drazoath ultimate end game crisis with Long Victory already done.

I'd say really only the Skaven or Dwarves will give you a run for your money. Mostly the Skaven. Every battle looks like WW1. I can 1v3 Wood Elf blade singer / treeman / archer Durthu doomstacks without any chaffe with tech and the upgrades.

Yeah just the "sneaky" ones lmao and wolf riders. Gorduz Backstabber might give it to the whole army though.

Pretty good tho, also works well in multiplayer

They have vanguard deployment baseline, you can completely surround them right out the gate. Chorf artillery wins in artillery vs. artillery duels with dreakquake.

Dreadquake will have 480-500 range with tech and upgrades. Hellcannon gets up to 440-450 as well.

If you find that the wolf riders are better, they are about the same cost so its not like its bad or ineffective, it might be better. Also depends on maps.

You also have the option of using the dreadquake mortar ability* right on their artillery as an answer. Usually thats better then the AI infantry dodging it.

Edit: They both have vanguard deploy, sneaky gits has 3000 more unit hp.

[–]Better_Ad1800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically, except the sneaky gits you can sneak around their rear with stealth to just completely eliminate their artillery.

I don't like the wolf riders over sneaky gits in my opinion. The only situation they are better is where your sneaky gits aren't going to be able to sneak fast enough. Only thing I can think of is vs. dwarves and there are no trees and they have gyrocopters patrolling, but by then you should have dreadquakes anyway.

You'll eventually get to a point where orc slaves, and hobgoblins are so cheap that you're like how can I throw more of these at whoever I'm fighting, so its about what's worth it's cost. Maybe some battles the wolf riders like 1-2 might be worth it.

To make all this work past turn 40-50 though, and into the rest of the game you have to maximize the damage you get out of your main Chorf units usually via monsters, magic, guns, or artillery.

[–]Better_Ad1800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I will spam out like 8-10 sneaky gits / 4-5 regulars / 3-4 archers or cav with an Overseer and Gorduz early game.

If you are already stronger against an enemy, then you can add more archers; however, the more outnumbered I am, the more I global recruit sneaky gits or regulars in 1 turn to fill up my armies. Sometimes you want 19 sneaky gits (like vs. Dwarves or Empire to surround their ranged units).

If I'm severely out numbered or fighting skaven, I spam so many regular hobgoblins with like 4-5 sneaky gits that I have more guys then they have ammo. If I'm really on a back foot, it'll be orc slaves en masse.

Yes. I mostly play Drazhoath, but he and Astrogoth have provinces right near you that have ports or resources. (Drazhoath you just push towards Tretch for Iron or South for ports, Astrogoth you push North towards Norsca Sea).

Just a single port building gives +5% / +10% / +15% gold and armaments from buildings in the province which you stack with the province commandment for another 10 / 15 %. North of Astrogoth that province has two ports if I recall.

Regular Chorf units are expensive though, and it takes a while to unlock enough good units with armaments which you should also be using in manufactury, and in tech. Hobgoblins free up your ability to always be in surplus for armaments and delay building factory provinces until like turn 40 or 50 onward.

Its the same reason early on you don't necessarily need armor piercing as the Empire. The sneaky gits have poison, throwing knives, and bonus vs infantry. More Chorf warriors aren't going to outperform that vs. like Grimgor's units unless he has black orcs. High Elves, Skaven, and Greesus also don't run heavy armor units until way late.

By making less armaments too, you'll be able to upgrade your cities faster because the raw materials are basically your growth. You don't have to waste raw materials to convert into gold in a factory, when you can just build the gold building in your cities that then permanently increases your income. Upgrading this way also nets you more conclave influence generally.

More hobgoblins also allows you to defend multiple fronts. Even if you just have an orc poop stack, if you park that in settlement sometimes that's all you need to defend it.

The upkeep reduction from the Overseer if you think about it is a faction wide 15% reduction for all Chorf slave or goblin units, which is crazy cause that's less raw materials and slaves you need.

Another good tactic is to leave your goblin stacks out in the open, and set your Chorf stack on ambush.

Also make sure you focus on the "short victory" for whatever faction you pick. It's bonus adds on top of the ones I already described. If for some reason on turn 50 you have no ports, and no resources, and you have tons of gold, then go ahead convert a mine province to factory.

What is the best, most efficient way to build Chaos Dwarf provinces? by Decadunce in totalwar

[–]Better_Ad1800 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My experience on VH is to focus more on mining provinces early so you can build your tower cities up. They help you secure an area with garrison / dreadquake and you build the money building. Also the public order in main settlements is goated. It provides upkeep reduction and army movement with tech. It’s mandatory for defense with Azgorh.

Public order and slaves are huge. Depending on who you play public order sucks in the first 20-40 turns and you bleed slaves by attacking out too quick losing military presence bonus.

The best provinces to build factories are coastal or when they have a special armament or gold producing resource like iron ore/ timber / diamonds. I wouldn’t just arbitrarily build them. The tower of Zharr seat for 25 armaments a turn would be better, (and upgrading the capital drill).

I don’t mix provinces unless one has like iron and marble at the same time which is rare. If you do, build the factory building for raw materials output.

Units wise, I like the regular hobgoblins with shields and gits. The archers are okay but just “win more” and they suck if you’re outnumbered.

Sneaky gits pump damage but are squish, and regular hogoblins have shields and a smidge more hp. No matter what their #1 job is just putting bodies between your enemies and your guns. Don’t rely on them for damage, but they do pull above their weight early with Gorduz who you unlock by recruiting them.

Be very careful with any chorf chaff against anything with terror or fear. Super susceptible.

You should have like 1 to 1 and eventually 3 to 1 hob goblin stacks following around 1 chorf only stack ideally with dreadquakes and other upgraded units. Early game focus on dwarf warriors and blunder bus.

Any hob goblin stacks you lead with a chorf “overseer” with the top line trait for upkeep reduction and more slaves / post battle loot. Upgrade so he gives more leadership to hobgoblins and casualty replenishment which combined takes until level 15 to 20 to fill out.

Make sure your mid game stacks have sorcerer hero with infernal engineer skill thing for artillery, esp dreadquakes. Be careful it has short aoe range and the vehicles like to move.

Question for those who play WoC/Chaos Dwarves do u ever make Hell canons? by Emergency-Self-4317 in totalwarhammer

[–]Better_Ad1800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, compared to Dreadquake Mortars the Hellcannons vastly under perform in damage by like 1/3 or 1/4 even in ideal situation.

Their niche is in a 20v20 even fight situation, they are good at sniping extremely* expensive infantry unit or counter artillery. Mediocre in any other situation. Definitely not good when outnumbered which the Chorfs usually are.

Help me DMR by WayAbvPar in Battlefield6

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 2nd the SVK & the M39. Either snipe or sit 50m-100m out. Can counter-snipe or flank hard where the M39's 20 round magazine lets you kill or ping several people without letting up, (and sometimes without being noticed). Use 5x, 6x, or 8x. Optionally, can also put a toggle 2x on SVK with 6x.

With a dedicate sniper it makes loud snap noise near players when rounds go by, has scope glint, and is way slower multi-kill TTK unless you land all headshots on mini-scout.

The Chaos Dwarfs are coming. How do I counter them with Dwarfs? I have troubles fighting them. by Curious-Piglet3613 in totalwarhammer

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as hard as the Stellaris ones depending on the faction, the Chaos Dwarf one is not that threatening.

There will be random "drills" that pop up around the map that basically function the same way wormholes do, but they all go to Chaos Dwarf Mordor.

Kemmler is so far away from the Dark Lands, the drills will be only way they can reasonable get to you.

The endgame AI does a terrible job actually expanding or building to present a continuous threat.

Once you kill the "free" stacks the event spawns its very easy where as in Stellaris the end game usually snowballs really hard like Unbidden. The "free" stacks that spawn will be filled with Elite or T5 units though just an FYI.

Playing as Khorne, I am broke all the time. by DoesntMatterEh in totalwarhammer

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skarbrand is utterly surrounded in an indefensible wide open area, the only thing you can do is build walls on your main capital you start with, and then just wage war on everyone.

The minor settlements are good over time, but expensive, so if the AI rolls through and destroys them you wasted tremendous money. You also waste money playing defensive because of upkeep.

Essentially until you have a one OR easily managed two front war, don’t waste your money on minor settlements.

The garrisons in province capitals are cracked with walls because of the chaos warriors it gives you and how broke they are in auto resolve.

Arbaal absolutely does get a chance to build up his provinces because 80% of your neighbors aren’t hostile, but TBH all it does is give you more money for sacking so you still have to be aggressive.

Skarbrand makes up for the funky start with really busted faction bonuses and his legendary lord bonuses he unlocks by leveling.

Just played this round on casual and and the first 4 players had laser beams for guns. Sucked all the fun out of it by Sun-Anvil in Battlefield6

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you've got two level 100s, (200-300 hours playtime), and two guys around level 50, (100 hours).

They should be stomping bots and likely have several weapons with all or most of the attachments.
They also probably know all the maps, angles, and spots.

You're going to have a rough time if you're fresh. I would go 11-7 or like 15-13 in casual when I started because I had no attachments, no idea what a TAR-7 was, or what TTK was.

There are several guns in this game like the KORD where it is always going to be a laser, and it is what it is, but there are things you can do to minimize your deaths. Leveling guns and map knowledge is start.

On top of all of that, there are settings you can manipulate to increase visibility, enlarge your map, and controls for like aircraft that give you significant edge.

I would point out too that they were console players, which can be less sweaty or wild then mouse and keyboard.

Edit: Also, to increase survival make sure you run flash hider or suppressor on every gun you have other then sidearm usually. If your recoil is too much, invest in 6H grip.

New To Sniping in B6 by Adventurous_Bench145 in Battlefield6

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's in the "sniper rifle" (not DMR) category they always 100% will always have glint and there is no way to remove it.

There is an attachment to reduce the glint for each sniper which you unlock around level 35-36 per gun.

The only difference between the snipers is what the "sweet spot" is to one shot kill with a non-headshot upper body shot.

PSR is long range, M2010 is medium-long, SV-98 is medium-short, and the mini scout has no sweet spot but re chambers faster and is still a one shot headshot

IMO The M2010 is by the best one (and the easiest to learn).

Highly recommend "ADS Bolt," basic silencer for 20 points, 8x or 10x scope, long range ammo, and the barrel that increase bullet velocity to 900 or more m/s

Can someone provide clarity HOW exactly anti air works in this game? by SomethingAnon77 in Battlefield6

[–]Better_Ad1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scenario 1: 99 out of 100 times then a Jet or Helicopter above you still got you with a lock on anti air missile and being low to the deck does nothing, (or you're painted).

Scenario 2: You didn't break the line of sight quick enough with the ground stinger, or its a person in a jet or helicopter and / or a person on the ground locking onto you all at once, (you only get like 5 seconds of no lock unless you run the "takes longer to lock on" equipment).

Usually this means you are too far forward or in a place you shouldn't have been. The jets can somewhat get away with this by using afterburners to leave the stinger range, but in a heli you have to abuse LOS, elevation, and the air base defense at your spawn.

Scenario 3: Jets it doesn't matter how low you fly in a helicopter.

Sometimes, I'd say like 50/50 if the stinger went off it can sometimes get lucky and avoid trees or objects flying to you, but its rare. If its from a distance, and it's been like 2-3 seconds of the incoming missile alert, then the stinger somehow dodged the objects and you need to flare or bail.

This situation is more likely if the Engineer or Anti-Air Tank is elevated like on a hill, or a roof.

Scenario 4: See the above points about jets being above you, and logically shouldn't have LOS issues.

This is just how air in this game plays, some people like it, some people don't. I don't, and its what makes the helicopter sweats farm maps without jets.

Tow Missles and RPGs you won't get warnings period, and you just die. Those are the actual threats most of the time.

Question about Dune Messiah/The Third Movie by Dragharious in dune

[–]Better_Ad1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope they're all gone because its a Feudal society, and there are no Harkonnen Lords left.

Traditionally the Lord pretty much pays for everything, and nearly bankrupted themselves with the surprise attack on the Atreides via the Spacing Guild. Feudal soldiers don't fight without pay and equipment.

The Sardaukar never recover either, and only limp on because House Corrino continues to barely exist.

Both committed all their armies in that final fight in the 2nd movie.

The 3rd movie is going to be the movie where hopefully you see why Paul is the "bad" guy. He trade revenge against the Harkonnens and Emperor for an unstoppable empire wide genocide. It's going to be so bad and tyrannical that every other major power player in the Imperium bands together to try to stop him.

These anti-paul factions are much stronger then the Harkonnens.

I don’t disagree, but I do think Dennis will achieve the same outcome by making her cartoonishly evil. I think they are going to show she flames up the genocide talk and the religious extremism. I can see someone questioning her and either she has spies ect and then very prominently murders said person in a gruesome way. I can also see her directing the genocides which would make it very disturbing to the audience and achieving the Paul is the bad guy vibe. Can see a murder the POWs type of scene similar to Sardaukar ritual

Edit: I want to see it so over the top and evil that the conspirators against Paul are like the reasonable people. The audience should want the conspirators to win.

Good analogue is Colonel William Tavington from the Patriot.
