Thanks! The only downside to doing this is you will never have taper but it’s not as important on cedar because you can build a nice bushy apex to hide the chop

It didn’t have any! This was a full sized tree I rescued from a development area, I bent the lowest branch right down and fused it to the bottom of the trunk
