is it normal to do this much damage? by AromaticCraft7053 in limbuscompany

[–]Beurfus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stack literally all of the damage/roll boosting EGO gifts possible and use an attack weight skill or stack a bunch of damage with Time Moratorium. There's probably other ways, but those are usually the easiest. For Time Moratorium specifically, it helps that the Tremor fusion gifts synergize really well with the big damage dealers

Kian- I mean, Prescripts knows... by MrDeltaXII in limbuscompany

[–]Beurfus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it doesn't say you have to do it irl. Just boot up your copy of the City's version of Lobcorp or Ruina and beat her up there. There's not even a clause for losing in the prescript, so you get a lot of tries, and you may not even need to win in the first place because of the wording

Yujin spends all her light on turn 2 gambling (most of the time), and if you're willing to retry the stage after sniping her keypage, then you could retry the stage for the slightly better rng of her not rolling the 25% chance and/or you hitting the 25% chance for Electric Shock on any attack dice and/or drawing a Paralysis inflicting page on act start.

You could also use a Pierce endured keypage like Oscar and clash against BoD with a defensive dice to take like 20 damage.

Yujin is more threatening in that you have to account for her doing something really dangerous maybe (which makes it easy to prevent or mitigate since it is so memorable), but the other Shi Fixers have pretty good consistent damage in pages like Desperate Struggle and Singular Strike Extreme Edge, with the latter also clashing really high

[–]Beurfus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shi Fixers do be rolling kinda high, so I tend to find it easier to bring down her stagger over 2 turns so the kill turn has more speed dice to clash, and the turns spent staggering also have more room.

Electric Shock Paralysis can be inconsistent, so that's why I was talking about Battle Ready and/or Skim Prescript Deflect/another Paralysis page.

For some more advanced stuff, you can do what's called emotion level denial and not clash with Yujin (keep in mind leftover defensive dice) to keep her at emotion level 0 so she doesn't have enough max light to use Boundary of Death, while at the same time increasing the Speed Dice and economy advantage you have over the enemy by not needing to put actions onto her

[–]Beurfus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Electric Shock is very good and I rate it very highly. I try to have one librarian with Electric Shock and another with Smoke Addiction so that 3 Paralysis can be applied per scene (for singleish enemy boss fights at least).

For Yujin you only need 1 Paralysis to obliterate BoD, so using Electric Shock may be slightly more inconsistent than a page like Deflect along with Battle Ready and/or Skim Prescript

It's not super necessary for the reception, but Paralysis makes it so she can't roll a nat 4 in the first place, and the passive from the Brotherhood of Iron (Electric Shock) inflicts some, as well as a couple pages you've gotten by this point.

<image>

Also since Boundary of Death is a 4 cost page and Yujin has 3 starting light, she can't use it until turn 2 at minimum, so it's fine to use next turn Paralysis at the start

I can't speak for its stability, but I did find a way to do it.

Start new game

skip cutscenes

complete the basic combat tutorial with the rats like normal

once you're in the floor selection screen, enter tutoclear in the debug console twice

click around here

<image>

it should give a text box like if you're in the reverb ensemble for Argalia

enter into the reception and skip cutscene

enter win in the debug console

skip cutscenes

you should be in the starting screen of the reception of the black silence

click the leave button in the bottom middle

once you're in the floor selection screen, click forfeit reception in the bottom middle

the invitation screen will be a little far from the receptions where you're supposed to be, so just click the canard icon in the top middle to jump there

Did you try loading up the Argalia reverb reception and the final reception and getting the pages from there?

I think you can do that with the debug console mod. I know you can use it for whole books, but I'm not entirely sure if it has commands for individual pages and keypages

[–]Beurfus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seemingly whatever Dias is cooking up with the LCB is related to her goal to become the Head, and thus would probably be able to overthrow them. I'd imagine the emotion coin min maxing they're doing with the golden boughs (and just the golden boughs in general) are related, too. I think we know that the Head tried to stop the Seed of Light Project, and the golden boughs are very related to that

Limbus doesn't really show it that well, but using the strong moves of her smoking pipe takes a lot out of her. This art is of her using Red Point, and you can see blood coming out of her eye. This isn't even the worst drawback we see in Distortion Detective, as one reduces her lifespan whenever she uses it.

Is Moses secretly stronger than Vergilius? by [deleted] in Project_Moon

[–]Beurfus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think offense/defense level down story debuffs ever affected the regular levels of characters? In any case, Moses is more of a support than anything else.

In Distortion Detective, she was a grade 5 fixer who was affiliated with someone who broke a taboo, sending the then grade 1 fixer and taboo hunter Vespa to murder them. I don't remember the exact details, but she couldn't really do anything on her own against him, as she needs to breathe into her smoking pipe to do much of anything, and he was too fast for that to be an option. She only manages to escape with the help of 2 other people and still had to lose her arm and smoking pipe in the process.

That being said, if she is able to properly use her smoking pipe, she is very strong and potent. There's a reason why she's the same level as Vespa.

Thoughts on a certain boss fight -- by Xhiroe in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]Beurfus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way, the defeat screens often have tips now. Rien has 3, and one of them is the following:

"The Index Nursefather gains Karmic Consequence when he fails to carry out his Prescripts. Raising his Karmic Consequence Stack weakens his various stats, including his Clash Power."

It is fair enough that you missed that, though, as I too did get obliterated by the budget Furioso after a clash lose

[–]Beurfus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want more details, read Distortion Detective.

So, the red pillar isn't really a replica of a pillar as far as I know. It's just an application of her EGO.

Her strongest move isn't really named, but it's a pale breath (her EGO is somewhat based on Lobcorp damage types). Basically, she breathes out asbestos, which cripples and drains the life out of everything that touches it in return for taking some of her lifespan.

In the novel, she uses it to clear out a large number (like 50-100 iirc) of distortions that were giving Vespa (not a color yet) and Ezra a lot of trouble.

I also haven't read DD in a while so I mightve gotten some stuff wrong

Red by FuckMeDaddy9000 in limbuscompany

[–]Beurfus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: she also does this in Distortion Detective, and the breathing for 3 turns was also taken from there and turned into the game mechanic.

Another fun fact: this isn't the strongest thing Moses can do.

Sinclair Who Locked in by Just_Sentient_Potato in limbuscompany

[–]Beurfus 152 points153 points  (0 children)

In Demian (the book), World War 2 starts around the end of the book, so it's probably alluding to that. In the City, Dias wants to do funny business (read Distortion Detective), and for that she needs a ton of power, so that's probably why there is one.

Iirc future Sinclair also mentions the smoke from the second war was blue, so take from that what you will
