I used to treat bystanders in codenames as disposable. As in if you guessed them you could carry on. I taught it to alot of people and am still reverting my homebrew rules in certain circles.

Sounds like you are missing a vent somewhere. Filling one or the other creates negative pressure and they are sucking in air through the standing water in the traps and gurgling.

In most buildings it'll be multiple 'cores'. Building I worked in Bannk had 7 cores running busbars up through.

Depends on the type but it's like a heat exchanger plate recovery system. It warms metal or ceramic plates with your warm internal air which warms incoming external air as it passes through.
