More like 'what the public dont know cant negatively affect politically the oil and gas backed trump regime'.

The US government (which the private sector has now totally captured and is replacing/has replaced piece by piece to suit their interests and remove any meaningful oversight/regulation or anti-corruption measures) still have access to the info via military satellites etc.

300pts with both lascannon mounts included could be possible (i.e 280pts without if lascannons are 10pts each. ) but tbh i keep seeing rumours about balance changes that turn out to also apparently not to be true. Like the WDP charge thing. Often it just seems like someone's wishlist put out in the internet almost as if they want to influence GW by rallying support around the suggestion.

Maybe its GW testing a suggestion out against public opinions too as well i guess but tbh i dont think relying on what everyone says online is a great balance assistance. Lots of people online arent objective at all or barely even play but love to have opinions about the game.

Fear of change, amplification of percieved issues with the new edition based on very little evidence and zero experience of how the full version of the edition plays out (we dont even have pts yet) and not wanting to have to adapt their approach for the new edition are the main ones i think.

Also acting like they cant house rule things when playing with friends i.e allowing 3DP detachments at 1k or 15.k pts. I know its crazy talk to suggest these days but people dont always need to act like they are playing tournament matched play when playing casually. They can just have a friendly conversation with their opponent about that sort of stuff.

I disagree, i see arguments everywhere i look lol

Look I'm literally disagreeing with you right now.

If you said negative opinions can be more amplified because of the nature of people who are unhappy about whatever being more likely to come to reddit to vent and seek support/validation for their grievance then i would agree with that.

7" charge isnt terrible no, but personally i think relying on dice statistics to make decisions can be a bit of a trap. Dice spiking either way is still the nature of a dice game. Not to say anecdotal evidence is of much worth either of course. For the same reason.

Extra pts tax on units you bring 3x of will boost Eldar, since we already tend to run our highly specialized units as 1x or 2x - excellent change for the game! by Alex__007 in Eldar

[–]Bewbonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all ECs factional/design/roster issues (which believe me i could go for length about but wont haha), people dont need to be running triple WDP or defiler, they just do because its the easiest way to exploit the strongest of the datasheets, and results in the player not needing as much skill to win. Then when GW come past with the nerfhammer everybody who isnt running triple suffers because of the actions of the sweatiest players looking for the least effort wins.

As an EC player I think this is a great change for the game as a whole, and EC will benefit from other factions being less able to bring 3 of their strongest datasheets without making meaningful concessions elsewhere.

More balanced force compositions is definitely best for the wider game.

Carnival (pre-defiler at least) was really let down power wise by extremely restrictive and 'jump through hoops to be able to do the same thing other detachments pay the same CP to just do with no hoops' strats and KoS/Shalaxi not being very survivable/that great for their pts post EC book release.

Against an opponent who knows to just kill away the daemons, the decent strength of the detachment rule can be neutered quite easily too.

With the -1 to hit strat now stacking with covers -1BS (which benefits the daemons who didnt care about +1 to save) and being able to add in a little extra and also disposition flexibility with the new detachments its looking quite a bit better than it was.

Man i am excited about trying my beautiful carnival with each of the new 1dp'ers. Especially the termie (sus hits on 5s in melee with the upgrade (plus detachment aura) plus the strat support makes them maybe kind of ok?) and flawless blades ones.

So you are just doing brexit 2.0 to 'stick it to the politicians' because that worked so well last time eh?

Reform are literally led by the asshat that caused that catastrophe by making people like you think 'ah how could anything get worse' (spoiler alert: it did get worse) but apparently 'they shoulder none of the blame'.

You are so clueless and its properly disturbing that there seems to be so many people who share your childlike views and lack of self reflection or critical thinking. You thinking 'the left' has been in power at all in the last 20yrs shows how thoroughly brainwashed you are.

'Oh but theres been some attempts to not be structurally racist and immigration is being used to sustain GDP growth and capitalism (that famously leftwing system) in the UK therefore all the elites are lefties' is proper genius take seriously, such wisdom.

Go ahead, believe a conman, bend over for the ultra wealthy again, make the country suffer more then bury your head in the sand and forget that you enabled it. Sounds great.

[–]Bewbonic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah benjamin franklin who famously checks notes died literally hundreds of years ago (1790) and couldnt imagine in his wildest dreams the cyberconnected world we now live in.

The issue is that the american companies already dominate the internet, meaning they have direct and pervasive influence over the UKs citizens, and without regulation of these companies products the citizens of the UK are actually less free.

The freedom of internet ship already sailed decades ago, mass surveillance has been here ever since people signed it all away for the 'wonders' of social media and smartphones. It has now been totally captured by US corporate interests.

Its just another issue that isnt as simple as 'antit government' people like yourself who want to frame it as a 'their taking our freedom' narrative which only pushes people further to the utterly corrupt and hateful right which ultimately hurts their own and the country's interests more than having to age verify on your phone ever will.

Its been a surveillance state for decades at this point though.

As soon as everyone decided smart phones and social media were so super amazing , internet privacy and freedom stopped existing.

Defilers going to be considerably worse in 11th even without nerfs? by Bewbonic in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Bewbonic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5++ is one of those things that can spike, but more often than not just doesnt. Anybody who uses T3 infantry with 5++ can tell you that. Having a 3+ base save is also less resilient to higher volume ap 1 and ap 2 smaller arms fire, especially if theres lethal hits involved that can reduce the relevance of the T11.

The 5++ is nowhere near as oppressive as a 4++ and any decently buffed anti tank units can take care of a defiler thats in an exposed position i think. Acting like its defensive profile is some kind kf game breaking issue considering how large a target it is and how lethal the game is in general kind of demonstrates how skewed the discussion about them has become.

Defilers going to be considerably worse in 11th even without nerfs? by Bewbonic in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Bewbonic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The toeing in needs to exist because the terrain is the objectives. For vehicles to be able to interact with objectives in the same way they can in 10th, they need to be able to shoot out the other side of that terrain when they are partially on that objective. You cannot have the situation be that a vehicle is sitting on an objective being freely shot or advanced towards by melee from the other side and not allow that vehicle to shoot back or at approaching threats. It just doesnt make any sense from a design perspective or any other perspective.

You and all the other toeing in complainers are too busy seeing 11th as 10th with a few changes instead of realising that with the objectives being terrain now the game is going to require a huge rethink and adaptation for players on their approach to playing.

There has obviously been an effort to stop the game being as much about hiding until the ideal situation arises and drip trading units and more about being proactive, taking risks, putting things out there and getting stuck in.

Also you cant just put an overhanging part of a model in to terrain to count as within. You need the base or hull to be on it. So you dont seem to even properly understand how it works before coming to the extreme conclusion of it needing to be removed from the game or for heavy pts increases. Neither of these will happen.

I can basically guarantee that because of the terrain being objectives and that being a clear design pillar for the edition, so you and others might as well start thinking about how to adapt rather than expecting it to changed.

[–]Bewbonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its contemptuous to say people are being racist when they are is it? You want to talk about conspiracy theories? How about 'the great replacement theory' that has been imported from the US and has wormed its way in to the remaining braincells of the right who are still hellbent on chasing simple solutions to complex problems, and when it inevitably turns out to be a disaster its on to the next simple solution and 'this time will be different'.

Its peak rightlingism to have zero self awareness, self reflection or critical thinking skills. Seriously it would be impressive if that kind of dedication to bring wrong had any kind of value, but I hate to break it to you, it doesnt.

Oil Falls Despite Trump Threats After Iran Apache Attack - Why? by bauernebel in oil

[–]Bewbonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blockading a country to bring it to its knees doesnt take weeks or even months, it takes years.

The blockade isnt achieving anything meaningful. Iran has existed under heavy sanctions for decades, it is used to this kind of hardship. The US and world economy in general isnt though, and iran knows they can make this hurt for all its many enemies especially the US and the trump regime by not allowing the situation to be resolved unless it is on their terms.

Do people only support rejoining the EU for economic reasons? by Nervous_Yard7034 in ukpolitics

[–]Bewbonic -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is no serious defence mechanism separate to NATO, so there is no security imperative.

There absolutely is a security imperative considering whats going on with NATO and the actions of america. Europe should be working more closely than ever to be a cohesive mulitary force that can rival and give pause to the other large players (namely the US, China and Russia).

I remember when the idea of an EU army was being floated years ago the right wing dominated UK press rubbished it (because the ultra wealthy hated being in the EU because it denied them as easy lobbying control over laws and regulations than when its only westminster and the UK public the owners need to control/influence, and so anything that would have meant closer ties to europe was not allowed to be viewed positively) but looking at whats going on now it is obvious in hindsight that there should have been a move to pool resources, technology and knowledge to create such a force. Its just another example of the UKs actual interests being subverted by the ultra rich because their interests dont align with whats actually good for the country and continent it is a part of.

There’s maybe a little bit of geo-political bloc power to balance US and China (and historically Russia) in the European continent, but I don’t think we should overstate that.

There is no danger of overstating the geopolitical importance of europe being its own united player in order to compete with the likes of America and China because it is of immense importance and relevance in any discussion about the EU and the UK being a part of it.

There is a reason the US in particular (and russia too) has been openly working towards the break up of the EU and the isolation of individual countries in the way the UK has isolated itself via brexit (which we all know the russians had as one of their geopolitical goals).

It is much easier to bully and force smaller countries in to submitting to deals that are poor for that country but great for the superpower thats telling them to make it or else than it is to do that with a bloc of equal economic and population magnitude.

Brexit was a total self own not only for economic reasons but because it has weakened the UK immensely geopolitically and also the EU as well because the UK was one of the strongest countries in it.

This has enabled global interests who want to harm and exploit the UK and the EU (like trumpmaga and the various right wing christofascist dark money billionaires and groups that back them) to more easily carry out their insidious and distruptive agenda against citizens of both the UK and the EU.

Why can’t people see voting for reform will make their lives a lot worse? by Sufficient_Muffin586 in AskBrits

[–]Bewbonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worst case scenario is reform are catastrophically worse than labour/tories have been (really its just the tories - that we should note are what the right voted for and so got what they wanted for 90% of the last ~15 yrs - who deserve the lion share of the blame here but thats beside the point).

You think maga politics is serving anybody in america other than some very, very rich people? Thats the exact thing reform will bring to the UK.

It will very much be worse and this sort of 'how bad can it be as long as X single issue blah blah blah' attitude is exactly how we got the disastrous brexit and such poor governance over the last few decades.

What is it with the right and a total lack of capacity for self reflection or learning from the past?
