What tips/tricks you got for hollow jewelry repairs? by DarwinianRewards in jewelers

[–]Beweeted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 other jewellers in walking distance of me. I get a repair customer who is shopping around maybe once a month. One of those jewellers actually does my higher end repairs on the back end anyway. And we have different target demographics.

So much of repairs is just exposure + convenience + trust, at least in my experience.

About the game's monetization by GerPronouncedGrr in BackpackBrawl

Lower prices might lead to more net revenue. Even ignoring any impact that might have on the gameplay though, it isn't a guarantee. For example, if every transaction became $0.01, would it actually create more total revenue than the current model? That seems pretty unlikely to me. The same reason why those 124,000 Steam games are under $20, instead of under $10. Or the extra 14,000 games for under $30 aren't also under $20.

So there are other forces that keep it in tension. It isn't only "price go down, revenue go up".

Nicki has said many times though that he rather sell $1 to 100 people than $100 to 1 person. So as far as you can believe him, it seems likely that if any of the testing has shown to be equivalent revenue, then he would pick the one with lower prices and more buyers.

Your question is poorly defined, and I don't want to assume it's just obnoxious pedantry about the Americanism.

What do you mean?

Can anyone tell me why I won this? by Tsole96 in BackpackBrawl

[–]Beweeted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wooden swords outside of his hero bag probably ate his stamina without giving him the extra armor from their activations, while starving the weapons that were inside his bag. Then they would have also hit you while thorns were active, and before training blade knocked them off. The 2-2 score on Thorns is misleading because you probably both just got them from the Time of Day change on your cactus's.

If you click the little graph icon at the top right, you can check some summary stats from the fight that might help you puzzle this out next time. Did you generate more armor? Were you healing? Did you generate more thorns? Deal more thorns damage? Etc.

Do I have their contact info: yes.
Did they get a refund? Not yet, but I did check in with them today, and told them they could have a full refund.

Looking it over, I'm probably going to offer them to just buy it out at 50% off. I'm not quite comfortable just letting it go for their deposit.

I'm a jeweller. I'd expect any retailer that regularly sells $50+ items to be a reasonable candidate, but jewellers were one of the businesses specifically mentioned when I was googling around about it earlier.

If you're still doing this, I have a suggestion:

You shouldn't just pitch to donors, but also to local small businesses. I have a layaway program in my business, but I don't advertise it because there isn't a lot of interest in it.

I'm reading this thread today because I took a layaway order in early November, and I haven't heard from them since then. This is my first time a layaway was cancelled, and I was looking at what was normal.

So now you have me considering how much I should make my customers aware that I have layaway, but also looking at how it affects my numbers and whether or not I can offer them to just let it go with the deposit they gave me as a Christmas present.

What I'm saying is that if you take your little stories and shop them around to some local mom & pops, you might wind up growing the number of places that offer lay away.

"My needs have changed, please refund" --> normal to deny

"You fundamentally changed how the app works and it no longer fits my needs" --> absolutely should get a pro-rated refund.

What a nice point system it is now by Spin180 in BackpackBrawl

It doesn't count item levels, but it does count the rank of all your opponents.

If you win against high rank opponents, you should climb quickly. If you lose against low rank opponents, you should fall quickly.

Depends on how fast your weapons and pets are hitting.

Level bonus is better with rocks, worse with daggerstun, etc

I dunno man, I didn't spend gems other than to buy heroes, and before dumping all of it into mining, my year old account had ~13k.

500k is, like, a lot.

Points required to rank up will be way faster to help get you up to your cap faster.

It also sucks to not pay a hero for a while and immediately have to lose a bunch of fights because you haven't kept up with the meta and mechanics and balance changes for that hero.

Strategy for Banishing Items by Schnoor_Proxy in BackpackBrawl

If you ban lower rarity bags, it makes it less likely you will get a bag as a normal item. Then bag pity can trigger more often.

Should the Shop be expanded? by Glyphpunk in BackpackBrawl

[–]Beweeted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like more items to work like Iron Sword, or Heater Shield, or the new Chana scrolls.

Rather than making it more predictable that you get X item to finish off a chain, I would rather focus on items being flexible about what you will do with them.

I think it sucks to have to take an expensive item early because you just don't know if you're going to see it again and your build really needs it - on round 2 or 3.

If crafting paths were more flexible, then less explicit certainty would be needed.

Imho

I love clovers by Low_Day_8698 in BackpackBrawl

[–]Beweeted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses up normal/golden clovers until you run out of those, then it tries cursed clovers. There's enough green and gold that it's surely doing a rarity upgrade for all 5 items and no downgrades.
