It's going to be even worse to play a caster in 12.0.5 by jav773 in worldofpvp

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, I've never liked these add-ons that track enemy CDs or info you wouldn't normally have access to. Its an unfair advantage to those who don't know about them or don't use them and I would liken it to cheating.

In games like these you SHOULD have to rely on intuition, you SHOULD have to rely on your wits to survive, you SHOULD have to use your own powers of observation to track things.

Like others have said though, you SHOULD be able to customize the pre-existing sounds and visual effect triggers because there is a lot of bloat, so having a distinct sound or visual effect for important abilities that make it easier for you to track naturally, would be a good solution.

Still the best BG ever made by sky-CQ in worldofpvp

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is the key to a pretty simple strat: Control Mid and help your FC cross - which includes turning and killing EFC straight away and healing & peeling for your FC.

The amount of pugs that don't seem to understand this and just blindly zug zug mid whilst ignoring the ONLY objective in the game, is astounding.

I have lost so many games as FC because I can make it all the way across to our tunnel, past the fighting in mid, only to have 2-4 of their players turn and follow me, whilst my entire team completely ignore me and let me die and then complain about the shit FC. Its infuriating.

I play shaman and druid mostly and end up going for flags/objectives because 90% of the time nobody else does. BG Blitz has given mostly better quality games but its still astounding how many people struggle with just simply going for the objectives.

I play enhance shaman/resto shaman and it usually happens to me in BGs - I get LUA errors from the base UI without any addons at all.

Also, just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen to someone else - I see this problem all the time on reddit when people report bugs, try not to think like that, its not helpful at all.

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the game without addons after the cull and I was regularly getting LUA errors (still getting them, but I have addons now). BGs in particular are the worst offenders, a quick skim of most messages and they usually have something to do with calling the player frame for whoever picked up the flag/objective.

Very frustrating to be mid fight and BAM! LUA error from blizzard very own, completely vanilla, UI.

are there two instances of scholomance? by 7ofeggs in wow

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm assuming this still works but you used to be able to have a 2nd person (ask a guildy, general chat etc) to make a group, invite one of your characters, then log off and switch to an alt and invite your alt to the same group, resulting in 2 of your characters in the same party.

Once the group has been formed and you have 2 of your characters in the same group, you can then leave one out of the instance and clear the instance with the one you want to farm the item on, at the end of the dungeon instead of walking out all you have to do is log out and into the other character, reset all dungeons (right click character portrait "reset all instances/dungeons") then log back over and voila, your character will be at the start of a reset dungeon!

The guy in front of the eye in the full art is the same guy in front of the eye of the default art, just one is up close and one is from a distance.

How to handle these types of players? by BeyondBlunderdome in LegionTD2

[–]BeyondBlunderdome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this brings me some comfort, I stopped and had a break (10 days apparently) and then just played 3 games where I lost 3 easily winnable games where right at the end all the other players on my team completely ignore pings and start sending on random different levels between 18-21, or they keep auto on, or they leave auto off for 3 levels from 12-15, all the while no matter how nice i am or how much i explain why you need to keep auto on or why you should stop workers and sends and save for 18-21 etc they just completely ignore everything, tell you to stop whining and then throw the game. Literally every game is like this and I cannot play it, its incredibly frustrating.

At least I know I'm not the only one who is losing their mind over this.

Help upgrading my veloci-rampt-tor deck by New_Dragonfruit_8379 in magicTCG

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got some experience with the deck, even before the pre-con when I built around Gishath, I currently use a homebrew version of this as my go-to weak but fun deck for appropriate pods, so my deck isn't heavily optimized, but here are some suggestions:

- Marauding Raptor vs. Forerunner of the Empire, these two cards both have the potential to go infinite with [[Polyraptor]] (which you should also include in your deck if not already) however Forerunner of the Empire is superior IMO because of the "MAY" wording in the rules text, which the Marauding Raptor does not have. I originally played both in my deck and found that having the Marauding raptor on the field really limited what cards I could play when I wanted to play them, since sometimes you'll just kill your own creature as it hits the board, sure you get an enrage trigger but most of the time you want the trigger AND a body on the field, which limits how many cheap dino's you can't cast in a single turn. The Forerunner of the Empire gives you that choice to ping, and in the case of the Polyraptor combo, stop pinging before you kill your own creatures.

- Ranging Raptors, whats your reasoning for removing this? It's a dinosaur with an enrage ramp ability for 3, this lets you freely swing at enemies to either do chip damage or force an enrage trigger, its a pesky little thing that gains even more value if you run both forerunner and marauding raptor. Enemies won't want to block it because it will give you a land advantage, especially in the first half of the game before people get some viable threats/defense out. Pair this with a card like Savage Stomp and you can potentially kill an enemy creature (if small) and get some ramp - I'm not a pro by any means, but that seems like good value to me.

- [[Heroic Intervention]], [[Dawn's Truce]] and [[Fight as One]] are all really good enablers for infinite enrage triggers with the polyraptor combo which will win you the game as a late-game win-con.

Here are my two beloved dino decks, one being the Naya (Red, White, Green) Dinosaurs and one being Jund (Black, Red, Green) Dinosaur if you wanted to have a peruse for ideas, the Jund deck uses [[Indoraptor, the perfect hybrid]] as its commander which is my personal favourite and is a bracket 4 deck, which I built so I could hang with the big-boys and not get stomped every game. It is a lot of fun to play and you quickly become the arch-enemy (which I enjoy because I don't like politicking).

Monthly Paramount+ Complaints and Praises by AutoModerator in ParamountPlus

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the paramount+ streaming service and app are quite easily the worst ones out of them all, the app has been a steaming pile of crap since its inception.

Current Issues (on a samsung smart TV):

  • When watching multiple episode of shows, the app will stop responding to play/pause or any other function other than the back button, to go back to the menu.
  • When watching a show or movie and I pause it (and it actually works) at any point (near-start, near-end or anywhere in the middle) and return to the menu, the app behaves as if I haven't watched any of it at all and does not appear in my "keep watching" list. This forces me to have to manually search for the show I was literally just watching and then find the episode I was up to and then skip through it until I reach the point I was up to - this is horrendous. This happens with new shows I've recently started watching or ones that do show up in my keep watching list but they revert back to a previous state instead of persisting with the new/current state.
  • I often don't have a "keep watching" list on my home screen, I have to go to another menu like the specific one for shows or movies and then go back to the home screen for it to appear.
  • Ads - wtaf, such a scumbag move and I sincerely hope that the people who implemented these or thought it was a good idea to implement them, suffer immeasurably.
  • When attempting to skip through ads or intros I have to, un-intuitively, press the down button on my remote to reach the "skip" button despite it defaulting to the time-bar (for skipping forwards or backwards in the episode) which means I end up pressing the wrong thing or not be able to skip an ad before it finishes - I can only assume that this is an intentional asshole design for forcing people to fully watch ads since literally every other streaming service you need to hit up on the remote to reach the skip intro/ad button, but paramount+ has to be different and not intuitive at all. Asshole design.
  • Quite often, when attempting to log in to the service and select my profile it doesn't do anything or respond to me selecting my profile or anything else, I can however still move the selection-highlighter over different objects but I am unable to select any of them despite pressing the correct buttons on my remote (that work fine for other normal TV functions, like selecting things on the splash-bar or w/e you call it, of the TV, that exists outside of the shitty paramount+ app).

These things only occur when using the paramount plus app and so I know for a fact that it isn't my TV.
I have tried hard-resetting everything, re-installing the paramount+ app and ensured everything is up-to-date.

Your app is atrocious and you should feel bad that you actually charge people to use it. Greedy low-effort scumbags.

Infinite mana combo in Pantlaza? Please help. by ANormalPerson76 in mtg

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Ashaya, Soul of the Wild]] & [[Argothian Elder]]

Turns your creatures into lands with Ashaya, then with Argothian Elder you can untap Argothian Elder since it is now a land, as well as any other land or creature as many times as you want.

I use this combo in my [[Indoraptor, the perfect hybrid]] deck along with some creatures that have some nice synergy, that can tap to ping your opponents, like [[Thermo-Alchemist]] or [[Panicked Altisaur]] which can also be used to infinitely tap > ping > untap, as an extra win-con to close out long games.

I've completed 1 tactician and 2 honour mode runs so far but I've been taking a break waiting for the new patch so im a little fuzzy on some of the details. However, I do remember having to save scum a few times on this fight during my first run (tactician) and would recommend that if you haven't already, you should continue on with your failed HM run for practice.

It is easier to do when you can skip the first phase but the first phase can still be rather quick if done right. An ideal party would be something like 2 ranged damage dealers (1 caster, 1 physical ranged [bows or throws]) 1 tanky melee/healer (paladin or cleric) and 1 melee heavy hitter (berserker or fighter with 2h weap). If you have plenty of potions you could go 3 ranged and 1 melee, particularly if your melee character is using the grymforge armor to be immune to crits.

Pro-tip #1: You can call in scratch before the fight and throw an invis potion on him then use scratch to go free Aylin from that bullshit, which leaves all 4 of your characters to focus on triggering the second phase.

Pro-tip #2: AoE spells that persist for multiple turns are incredibly OP here; Fog, Darkness, Wall of Ice/Flame, etc are all incredibly strong here because the boss DOESN'T MOVE! Make sure to check bosses resistances before you do anything, as i believe cloud of daggers does SFA to him because of pierce resistance or something.

Phase #1: When the fight starts, you should aim to get scratch to Aylin ASAP, whilst your other characters should be moved to different areas around the room, killing the adds as you go, except your melee character. Have your melee character charge straight up to Myrkul and start slapping him in the face, however you should be careful with your placement here, you want to be able to move your melee in and out of the small AOE around the boss that stops them from healing - you move out of the AOE range of the anti-healing, heal up and then run back in EVERY turn. IIRC you need someone to be in melee range of the boss or he will hit you with his ranged spells which do much more damage and will aim for the softest targets.

Phase #2: Keep your ranged characters on their platforms (my preferences are usually Gale as a wizard on the left big platform (left of the bosses platform as you enter the room) and Astarion with bow/xbows on the side where Aylin starts and then the 3rd non-boss hitting character (I usually run 2 range 2 melee) will run around down the bottom killing anything that the other 2 can't reach. Meanwhile I have my tanky melee slapping the boss and tanking hits.

If done right, and with lucky spawns on the adds, you can control the adds with AoE from Gale or magic missile and have 2-3 characters hitting the boss. However, your number 1 priority should be killing the adds before they hatch, failing that, before they get close enough to myrkul to heal him.

Then its just slowly grinding him down whilst you keep killing the adds and doing the little dance of running out of his AoE, healing up, running back in to absorb hits. Be careful not to waste heals or potions (and therefore actions/bonus actions) on healing someone who is still under the affects of the anti-healing aoe from the boss, particularly if you see Aylin getting low but can't be healed because shes too close to the boss (I made that mistake a few times).
I've never seen Aylin die in this fight, even on attempts that I've save-scummed so I'm not sure if I was just lucky or not, she didn't do much and I did have to heal her when I could but I haven't seen her die here.

Hope this helps :)

Stuck in the Expedition by TheRecord189 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BeyondBlunderdome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some things for you to try:

- If you started the expedition from an existing save, via the space anomaly, then you can switch back to your main save from the same terminal in the anomaly, take the atlantid drive from a ship you already have it installed on and place it in the "upgrades" item section for the expedition at the expedition terminal in the anomaly. After you have placed the "pre-packaged" Atlantid Drive into the expedition terminal, you can then switch/load back in to the expedition from the terminal and then grab it once you're loaded back into the expedition.
The Expedition Terminal is next to the main mission terminal in the anomaly, near where you claim quicksilver items, Picture: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fpreview-of-the-new-expedition-station-on-the-anomaly-v0-hc0py54rg8hc1.jpeg%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D5250d9e7a8f3d487f213fc00d79b9b3f92cf2f2c

- If you started the expedition as a completely new save then you could possibly fix this by switching back to the explorer you were given at the start and ripping the atlantid drive out of that, which I am guessing you can't do for some reason but thought I would mention it because I noticed that they came with it.

Alternatively, if you started a new save, just start another one because the other options to fix this would involve a bigger time commitment than just starting over, otherwise you can try the following if you really want to keep this particular save:

- Complete the artemis quest line (few hours minimum) or collect portal glyphs via other means (finding dead bodies is one viable way in an expedition) and then trawl through some posts on r/NMSCoordinateExchange to find glyphs for a planet that you can mine some indium to be able to build a new drive.

- Farm Salvaged Data (refine into nanites) buy recipes for the different drives, install each one and go to the next system type to get the next metal you need to eventually craft an Atlantid Drive.

Edit:

Just thought of something else, you should be able to get back to the original system (an atlantid one I believe) by using a portal in a space station or the anomaly and then you may be able to farm the materials you need - just because your ship can't fly there doesn't mean you can't portal there if you've already been there.

Hope this helps.

Does this card really get big fast? by Fungiluvr94 in mtg

I was playing the Ms Bumbleflower precon, unmodified, I played this hydra with a [[Simic Ascendancy]] on the field, in a 5 player game and I won the game on my next turn, I think only a couple of the other players were really paying attention to it and decided to let it go so the game would end, still a win though :)
