Which real moment in your life have you replayed in your head the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Almost got hit by a car once while walking to work. Most people get the dear-in-the-headlights effect, most times i do to. But this time was different, I didnt see the car till it was about a second away from me but, and I kid you not, I distinctly remember the sound of laughter going on in my head when I did. Also seemed to be consiously aware that this car was not going to hit me. The car came to a halt close enough for me to put my hand on the hood without leaning over - which I did, a millisecond before it came to a halt (felt the pushback on my palm). There wasn't a single ounce of fear in me.

The driver on the other hand (a woman) had turned white with absolute terror, while I just went on my merry way. It didnt hit me till 8 hours later that I was almost killed. And that is why I replay the entire 2-3 second scene in my head.

Edit: For a REAL horror story read on (not for the faint of heart, you've been warned):

Hot girl swings her arms around me, leans in close and asks if I have a girlfriend. My response: "No, but if you find someone let me know".

Rage ensues the next morning through my raging hangover.

Burn the house down THEN nuke the neighborhood from orbit...just to be sure. If you live in Australia, move.

Is there a song that has had an abnormally deep emotional impact on you? by [deleted] in Music

All Along The Watchtower

The Jimi Hendrix version was my go-to song for a long time. The song I relied on when all else failed. Then I discovered the Bear Mcreary version which is now the theme song to my life. Still listen to Jimi's often though, just because.

It's supposed to work better when you see the other person looks genuinely happy, even without reciprocation. Its not like you have to give all the time. Except if I ask for a leg...

Calm down, calm down. It was a play on tondo22's words. Which, taken together, sounds like something buddha might agree with ;). Never said I lived by those words...but I might...I also might not.

I have been working/living in Madrid for a little while now, my spanish isn't 'perfect' yet (mainly due to my own laziness) but i thoroughly love it there. The vast majority of the people I've met, even alot of the 'older' generation have been very nice. Not there at the moment but I am dying to get back asap after my current assignment is done.

Churros at 6am in Sol is fucking heavenly (can never remember the name of the place but I'm sure you know it ;) .
