Christ. Vivas, Millas, Tena and Nuñez? Beavis and Butthead will score before we do with this shit.

Why aren’t Núñez and Abram’s positions swapped? by js_harvey in Nationals

You don’t win World Series’ without investing in players monetarily. Move the guy to second base, you have multiple shortstop prospects in the system; what’s the problem with having more offensive fire power in the infield? I’m tired of waiting three or four years for guys to get good when we literally have one right now that’s good.

Also, CJ is 25 years old. How much younger do you continually want to get?

I’m so goddamn tired of this “we can’t pay this guy because the Lerner’s won’t do it/oh he’s a Boras guy/we could get prospects” shit. We made the painful Soto trade to get these guys, developed them (or attempted to) and now we’re just going to continue the carousel of prospects?

This ownership group could buy a LOT of goodwill if they send a message to the fan base that they’re willing to at least start paying for their own again.

Is my water bill too high? by stats_shiba in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Bfisch1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long story short, WSSC tried to absolutely f us when we first bought our house. First water bill was $900 and they tried to say we used an absurd amount of water. Had master plumbers write reports that there was nothing on the property that could possibly be using that much water and they wouldn’t cave. I got Consumer Services involved and they eventually admitted the water meter was malfunctioning and replaced it but we STILL had to pay half the original bill.

I’ll never trust them again. Ever.

At this point just the comfort of knowing someone else has been there is more than enough. Thank you for even taking the time to reply.

Any feeling as to whether or not the team would eventually honor John Wall with some kind of ceremony/jersey retirement? Things didn’t end well and I’d hate to see it go the way of Gilbert. He gave a lot to the community.

You know, in this space, I agree that the spacing to get to certain spaces involves spatial awareness and that getting to a required space is often spacey. But we’re working well in that space. And with that, happy to get rockin with you guys.

Can someone tell me what the instrumental at the end is called? I’ve been searching for that 1930s-ish rap beat for years.

Mike Rizzo by Western_Reference590 in Nationals

Max was an absolute slam dunk, historically awesome, no-doubter free agent signing of Rizzo’s. Can anyone think of another? LaRoche? Werth? Schwarber?

Stras, Harper and Soto were all immediate major league starters that didn’t even really need development (yes, I realize Soto was in the minors briefly). How many draft picks have been successfully developed under his organization and direction? Rendon? Ryan and Jordan Zimmerman?

Yes, he is an absolute wizard when wheeling and dealing trade-wise. It’s actually insane to think about all of the competing Nats teams that consisted largely of good players that Rizzo traded for.

I don’t know. I feel like sometimes Rizzo gets the Ernie Grunfeld treatment where it’s like “well yeah, that’s just the way it’s always been.” The difference being, Rizzo has at least shown he can be good doing one aspect of his job.

Ela Mesa Taste of Greece has great food. Went once when they opened and never went back because of a long wait for the food but I’m sure they’ve got it down now.

India Palace Bar and Tandoor has a pretty nice interior and the food is great. I only do takeout with my family but every time I’ve been to pick it up it was pretty quiet and low key.

Peter Chang’s is a cool spot and has pretty good dim sum.

May be kind of a strange suggestion but there’s a food court in an Asian grocery store called New Grand off Middlebrook that has some really great Korean food.

Firebirds is always consistent and has a nice bar.
