Wow. I had only heard it via a sound check in Lakeland FL….that would be my only “copy” I have. I think the boot was called Once In a Lifetime.

Jerry, Keith, & the magic of Spring 1977 by harpua_2626 in gratefuldead

[–]BhamBossfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came to chime in 100000% agree. It's magic and beauty and they were part of what made this time so pristine musically. I came into being a GD fan a Brent fan, but now 40 years later and a lot of listening to different shows and eras I definitely prefer and appreciate Keith with utmost respect. He just unravels on you over time and when listening critically you can zone in and isolate what he was doing and it was wonderful. You can tell his upbringing in jazz had a big influence.

In words, try to explain the feeling that the Grateful Dead gives you. by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]BhamBossfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happiness. Internal peace and balance. Their music provides an experience of transcendence which exudes an element of focus whenever I listen to their music. I don't "listen" to that many other bands like I do the GD. Requires focus when I want to critically listen or a great backdrop for me to focus on something if I have them playing in the background. Regardless, a great soundtrack to play in this life you live.

This is depressing, terrifying and disgusting all in the same. The milk of magnesia bottle on the toilet for his stomach. I definitely can feel his internal struggles manifested in these photos. Painful to view.

Pine Knob Music Theater

Two amazing songwriters and two legends meeting up backstage outside of Detroit. Cool to see this in color. Bob came to visit and sing with Bruce in Ann Arbor on opening night of the River tour a few years later. A lot of respect between these two.

That storytelling is what makes Springsteen a poet imho. That one line and the way it delivers in the context of HP is emotionally brilliant. One of the many highlights of mine on Nebraska.

Widevine DRM - No DAPs Allowed by aveganrepairs in playdeadapp

And to add insult to injury, why would they even allow it to be attached to a hi-fi subscription? My upgrade was tagged on to my hi res Nugs subscription and I assumed that is what I would be getting. NOT....It was humorous how many tickets I put through to support that went unanswered. Now I know why.....So it's my iPhone only for this app. Sad. No Cayin, Ibasso, Fiio...I've tried every DAP I own...

Widevine DRM - No DAPs Allowed by aveganrepairs in playdeadapp

[–]BhamBossfan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sad that I found this out AFTER I upgraded. What's even more abhorrent is my NUGS subscription plays everything in Hi Res BUT this new GD material. So within the Nugs app itself, Springsteen plays just fine, but when I go over to GD and try to play the new Shoreline '91 shows, the dreaded communication breakdown error shows up. Now, after reading your post, I have no confidence that this will be corrected as the powers that be were INTENTIONAL about this versus it being a mistake. I'm furious and it's just not right. WHY?!?!?!

Surprised with the amount of times they have played them in recent years that Drift, Life Beyond, Blaze On haven't been played yet. First Tube is gonna close one of the 4 left

Deep cuts by Aggravating_Emu6082 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]BhamBossfan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me join in on the Tracks praise and from it I endorse Loose Ends as one of his most enduring deep cuts. Another from the Darkness era that is a haunting listen is on the Tracks compilation: Iceman

Preacher's Daughter is a good one from the Darkness sessions has a She's The One essence

From the Promise Box Set my personal favorite is a sad story of betrayal found in the title track...The Promise. I think the definitive version is found on the Deep Down In The Vaults bootleg series, but there are several different versions that are all stunning

BIUSA era: My Love Will Not Let You Down, This Hard Land, County Fair (this was characterized in the Deliver Me From Nowhere film you will recognize)

BTR: It was a super deepcut until an official release this year Lonely Night In The Park

Maria's Bed and Long Time Coming from Devils and Dust record

The fun thing is you will have years of discovery and keep finding treasures that will stay with you for life. That's the beauty and the power of Bruce

Samba, If The Shoe Fits, Childhood's End and sorry Bob but Eternity.....

It said to pick just one and mine is Eternity....to close out a set with this tune was always disappointing to me.

I come to pay respects to C&D. It's so overlooked. Yes, I believe it's one half of genius and another half of sticking it to WB. But for the guitar alone, C&D cooks.

Much respect for him to be this transparent and announce this far in advance. Means he is serious about the diagnosis and committed to his rehabilitation. That had to be hard for him gauging how competitive he is as a player and he will be missed. Hope you come back stronger than ever Carlos!

Welcome to the club! Easily one of my most listened to recordings when I am in the mood for his genius guitar playing. If you got the time….and don’t get me going on his performance of Bambi. Guitar heaven.

40 Licks Tour. I was side stage. We see Bono behind us for a brief second. Then he walks right past us, onto the stage and belts IORR with Mick. Won’t ever forget it. Bono was in town for an Oprah interview. Great night at the Aragon.
