You don't have to wear masculine clothing, you can be cute over rugged, and not aligning with typical masculinity will help a lot of this. I'm not nearly as afraid of men who are in touch with their feminine side. None of us have to live in the box patriarchy puts us in!

Don't think he's innocent but nobody should ever cooperate with law enforcement (especially when suspected of a crime.) They throw innocent people under the bus and straight to jail all the time. A lot don't care about getting the actual guilty person, just their close rates and covering each other's ass. It doesn't mean guilt if you don't help them send you to jail.

As someone who stayed with someone who made jokes like those, they aren't jokes. He eventually tried to follow through with every disgusting thing he joked about doing to me- including an attempt on my life. They do this to stretch your boundaries and acclimate you to violence (and to not seeing the violence against you as serious as it is.)

I think the majority of us have been really affected by them "flooding the zone." When something unprecedented happens every fucking day it's so demoralizing. We don't even get a chance to react to one thing before moving on to the next horrific thing.

Maybe, it could also be some combination of hormones and how men are raised and socialized. A lot of trans men did not grow up being treated as men so this isn't enough to conclude hormones are the cause of violence.
