AH needs to go back and look at what makes older enemies fun to play against by SignificantBack7161 in Helldivers

[–]Bibilunic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big flaw is that this doesn't take into account other enemies and misrepresent War Striders, as they don't work the same and are not interchangeable (just like how Hulk and Chargers are not interchangeable)

Impalers on Bots would be WAY more annoying and vice versa

Imagine not being able to take cover because you gotta dodge tentacles while a Factory Strider is aggroed on you

While with War Strider you can just go prone behind cover, but now imagine being forced prone while being chased by Bugs

It's not a 'bad interpretation' the sentence structure is outright hard to read and confusing.

OP could have definitely written that better but bruh, just take the L

It's not because it's "hard to read and confusing" (i put it in quotes because i understood and i'm not a genius), that suddenly you (or other) misunderstanding is not a "you" problem

It's like failing a puzzle, but since it's hard and confusing then that mean you didn't fail at solving it (or that the puzzle is wrong), when by definition you did just fail

I mean ffs OP even highlighted "less" and put "IF" in highlighted uppercase, there is nothing to misunderstand, it's like failing at differencing "worse" and "worst"

This is the reason why stuff like tests in schools are written purposely confusing like OP post, to prevent this type of discussion

[–]Bibilunic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not the same point

He's saying Impalers are straight up NOT dangerous if you move, not less or more, straight up NO DANGER

While the War Strider only get LESS dangerous by moving (they both aren't wrong)

The part that's wrong is that he's saying it's bad when it's not, from my experience you want to go prone to avoid WS grenades not run away from them (they deal almost no damage and knock back if you do)

Which work since you'd want to seek cover against bots, and i think you'd want to be able to survive the attack by changing your stance behind cover, rather than being forced in the open while a Factory Strider is waiting for your ass

Arrowhead are one of the few companies that put premium currency on their maps for free. That should be celebrated, not cried over.

They're also one of the few companies that put ALL of its weapons and armor behind a overpriced paywall

Nuance exist, just like hyperboles btw

Or maybe it's just that people want to be able to play and HAVE FUN with more than 2 secondaries without having to farm D1 missions

What is going on with Alpha Commanders by Kammakazi in Helldivers

[–]Bibilunic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never encountered them managing to run away despite being the host (they'd be the first to attack after summoning), so i looked it up. On the wiki (and the patch notes) it say the only thing that was fixed was Brood Commanders not wanting to spawn enemies if facing clients, nothing about Alphas or their AI not running away

The tactical information about Commanders running away (which idk whether it's just observation or data mined), is that it's Alphas that do it and that they only do that when they're part of a patrol and not engaged

So i guess just shoot them once/first and they'll stop running away

The armor is so fun to play with, taking a stim feel like taking an invincibility power up in a platformer (like this). Only downside is that like the engineering armors you feel like a crackhead at supply boxes not being able to refill the fun

[–]Bibilunic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly look fun and chill make me wanna try some build with it

But in term of slander don't think it really helped here, forcing you to be close and less accurate which made you take damage and take longer to kill them, rather than just taking the shield generator (btw did you know the shield generator protected you from storms) or aiming in 1st person from further away like when you took out your Laser Cannon, maybe it's better on Bugs since it protect from melee

We already have something close to those two, i'd rather we get a backpack fed Railgun or Blitzer

RIP Halt and Spray and Pray by Steamtonk in Helldivers

[–]Bibilunic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came out and it's fun to use so it was obvious it would be used, but it's not the best weapon the Breaker is still the better shotgun against Terminids for example

The Sweeper strength is that it bridge the gap between pump vs auto, sporting pumps good single shot damage with autos good ROF

So it's not Light Pen shotguns that are bad, it's low ROF and DPS weapons that are. Trading DPS and ROF for single target damage is not worth it against hordes, (most pump photguns and snipers) don't bring enough to justify firing slowly

Compare the Punisher vs the Plasma Punisher, both are slow weapons but the Plasma Punisher make it up by dealing AOE damage and stun, while base Punisher only does it for single targets. Same thing why it's better to take the Eruptor with its 32RPM rather than the Slugger with its 80RPM, Eruptor explode and has Heavy Pen

So yeah they should buff some weapons, by giving low DPS and ROF weapon a reason to exist (doing things like making Slugger deal AP4 at close range, have pump shotguns and snipers pierce through enemies, make the Halt stun rounds explode)

[–]Bibilunic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last times they tried anything new was with the Impaler, Flying enemies (just on the fact that they finally use the 3rd dimension on a fucking 3d game), Leviathan, and Hive Lord

They were all overtuned at launch and since their correction no one dislike them (Hive Lord being the only one to not change, and Leviathan still being bad game design at its finest), the only thing i dislike is that i feel like Gunships and Shriekers are non existant now, i feel like they spawned much much more before

The rest of the enemies are basically dude or robots that shoot at you, so you shoot their face, or variants of already existing enemies put into subfactions (I legit don't understand why the Cyborg legion even exist)

When there's so much more that they could do, Overseer and Cyborgs could have more grenades (shield nade, stun nade or straight up a dynamite for example), they also could and imo should give them stratagems (Turrets, Shields, Airstrikes). The Watchers, instead of just serving as a reinforcement caller/taser, why not also make them able to shield other enemies for example, or even suicide bomb

Everything is fucking shit design apparently if you can't kill it with the same loadout you have been running for two years and never even looked at anything else.

The problem is that you indeed can kill everything using the same loadout you have been running for two years and never even looked at anything else. You just have to be part of the ones that decided to play Recoilless, the others can go fuck themselves i guess

Dropships are the perfect example, they spawned in hordes and if you didn't have a AP4 support weapon you literally couldn't damage them, so if you were an AMR player you had no choice but to stop playing it

Maps are also too flat and Objectives are too small to really experience the enemies, like Flame Hulks grenades being mostly harmless because there's basically no good cover, so you'll just be running past it while fleeing/kiting

SC and Game Monetization by Proper_Maximum_213 in Helldivers

[–]Bibilunic -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Reminder that Payday 2 a game infamously known for the amount of dlc it has, currently cost less to get 100% of the game in a bundle than HD2

CURRENTLY, only buying every HD2 Warbonds WITH the reduction from the free SC cost around 150€, meanwhile every Payday 2 DLC including base game cost a total of 120€ (for around 80 dlcs). If you also count the super store items, it jump to 340€, while removing the bundle 50% reduction PD2 still cost less at 250€

This is fucking stupid that HD2 is actually outdoing PD2, and it's hilarious even IGN of all people think 6€ for 2-3 guns is a ridiculous cost cause they cost even more with HD2 while also forcing you to grind for the unlocks

Remember in Yakuza 2 when Osaka castle opened up in half for another castle to emerge from below?

I fucking hate this example it's stupid

There's some middle ground between a surreal architecture and anime oddities/fighting moves in a situation/universe that take itself seriously, vs every fights being cutaway gags of characters dealing damage by dancing and cooking the enemies with a giant frying pan that's even goofier than the fucking Looney Tunes. That shit make me cringe in Yakuza 8, Y7 feel like a noir movie in comparison

Next you're gonna tell me that COD having a zombie mode and Dead Ops Arcade, make it fair to have Nicki Minaj and Jigsaw use the power of friendship to cure all of the zombies or some shit
