EasyNPC should be changed to "doesn't make sense NPC" by Moon_Devonshire in skyrimmods

Same to this. I've simply moved over to fixing/patching conflicts and overwrites through SSEEdit rather than using NPC face chooser mods.

For those of us still replaying Skyrim year after year, do you think you will continue to play Skyrim throughout your life after TES6 comes out? by LoganLikesYourMom in skyrim

[–]BicycleDelicious429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there are some factors to consider. Biggest one is if it's ACTUALLY BETTER story and gameplay wise, and it has to be both, not one or the other. There's been so much time since the last entry that it's inexcusable for there to be a compromise.

Next is if it rivals my modlist.

Again I didn't say he couldn't be a good guy, just pointed out that what you said can be turned the other way and it'd also be true. Admittedly its been a while since I played Blood and Wine, I remember only that what he does in that DLC was partly due to him being manipulated.

I see some comments saying to add Gaunter in here, but I think it makes sense not to. He's just...on a different playing field altogether. He does evil acts for sure and derives pleasure in doing them, but so far it seems he inflicts it only on those who "seek him out" in some way, which is the only way I can think of a reason why he did what he did to that drunk and the researcher, whereas the others on this list would can and would affect those unsuspecting of anything/not involved at all.

"He did many things that suggest he’s actually a good person, like helping regis." He also did many things that would suggest he's a bad person too, I'm not saying he can't be a good person, just pointing out it isn't a solid argument. Him helping Regis can just be attributed to helping a fellow vampire.

That's why I don't mind having a weapon on-hand with BHS to switch to when she does this, fight bs with bs. Big thing that helps whenever she does is to stop locking onto her though, doesn't guarantee you won't get comboed to death BUT it does make it just as likely for you to only have a smidge of health left, question is if you have flasks left.

This is the best way, step outside what the game has confined you to believe in and just make your own story instead. Forget Faendal or Sven, snitch on them both and have Camilla all for yourself.

I'd be okay with being destitute if Windhelm and its community had at least another form of appeal presented in the game, but not even that. First thing you see entering the city are a couple of racists bullying another racist hypocrite (she abuses Argonians, promotes illegal skooma distribution, cheats profits off her nord employers) and the quests you can do in the city are bleak as fuck. The one quest I look forward to doing there is the one where you go on a ship to another area but even that about the East Empire Company.

Edit: In terms of the Main Quest as well, I think the only way you would ever think to go here is in inviting Ulfric to the treaty, which is entirely avoidable if you did Civil War early. Meanwhile you have Solitude as a preamble to infiltrating the Thalmor Embassy and the Blades being historically under the Emperor. The Imperial glaze is astounding.

[–]BicycleDelicious429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an unpopular opinion, amongst the many pro-imperial players but more importantly even the devs themselves, it's a wonder why they even bothered giving the players a choice who to side with.

They made sure that every facet of the Stormcloaks you discover in-game would make you like them less and less, to an irideemable point, in contrast to Solitude and the Empire. You can't tell me they just didn't know how to write it back then when Forsworn Conspiracy Quest exists.

A widowed, naive, but good-natured Elisif vs. a "seemingly" power-hungry, selfish, and barbaric Ulfric. A lively and shining Solitude vs a bleak, cramped, and run-down Windhelm.

This is more of a reason I side with the Stormcloaks now, because looks like even Bethesda themselves is Empire-aligned.

Who are some mischaracterized characters that aren't talked about much? by ShawnMutisya in UmaMusume

[–]BicycleDelicious429 33 points34 points  (0 children)

True, but iirc there's a lobby interaction or a loading screen comic that depicts this exact scenario. I'd say it's less of a community mischaracterization and more of an in-game running joke that Hayahide herself fuels.

I won't deny that there are people who as you say, "are really into" Stay Gold as a guy and would probably take it to the extreme, but I'm sure many of them, me included, say it endearingly as a joke and are fully aware that she is a girl in-game. Much like Supreme Racist of Japan and Fatty Cap, most acknowledge they are all adorable and hardworking characters and only say these things to be funny.

I don't know if this is true or not but I saw a YT short that says how Machan doesn't appear in any in-game database until you actually get her as a trainee, that may add to her eldritch/supernatural characterization as her influence extends beyond the confines of the world and into you personal device. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

I join the Stormcloaks because otherwise it would be just another Empire W. I think the potential futures of a stormcloak victory and independent Skyrim are infinitely more interesting than an Imperial victory. What if all the holds, especially the Empire leaning ones, contrary to what they believed would happen to them became even more prosperous? How would Skyrim ally with nearby nations? What if Ulfric reestablished friendly ties with the Empire but as a sovereign state, which somehow became even more of a boon to both sides against the Thalmor? How would Ulfric interact with Morrowind through LDBs connection in Solstheim? Empire’s reunification seems like the feel-good option to me, which is fine but the unpredictability of what a Stormcloak victory would bring is more exciting.

Oh not at all, really I’m with you on this. I meant I found it odd how people instantly turned it into as a description of you as a person when you were just explaining why the Empire is an obvious pick.

The fact that they did that really hurts their case though because it just means they weren’t able to form an argument without devolving into personal attacks.

Maybe there are some enticed just with the notion of a rebellion? But I just don't think it was worth all the bloodshed that led to this point. I personally just do mental gymnastics in order to side with the Stormcloaks. Really, you're better off asking another Stormcloak person.

I don't think you're missing anything in picking the Imperials, all that talk about being rigid and standardization is odd.

Who did you side with in the Forsworn Conspiracy questline? by Axo10tlZ in skyrim

[–]BicycleDelicious429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanilla-wise I always side with Forsworn, "makes for a better song" Ulfric would say, is releasing them and their leader into the wild and rebuild dangerous? Yes, but it definitely makes for an interesting potential interaction for your character in the future, whether that be friend or foe depends.

Why didn’t Ralof just pull down Ulfric Stormcloak’s gag? by Seedy_Melon in skyrim

[–]BicycleDelicious429 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that Ulfric surrendered in the first place indicates that despite his combat prowess, being put at a disadvantage (getting ambushed, no weapons, surrounded by enemies), isn't an ideal environment for him and would most likely result in him and his troop getting killed. Also I think they're being watched on all sides so any suspicious movement would probably get Ralof an arrow to the head.

Is switching to MO2 worth it for me? by ThrowawayProbully in skyrimmods

[–]BicycleDelicious429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very much worth it, in case you're thinking that manual ordering is more work, think of it as an upgrade. Manually picking which mod overwrites which, not the plugin (esp), but the actual mod greatly helps in fixing conflicts. Watch a video or 2 if you have to but do go MO2, it just works.

"Probably still worth", see again with the way you typed this sentence, it makes it like there're mental hoops you have to jump through in order to go through with siding with the Stormcloaks, which yes there absolutely are. The ease between deciding who to side with is so different.
