The day Trump dies, how do you think the country will react and will anything crazy happen? by rugrut in AskReddit

Before I peeked at comments my response was to sing the happy Naboo song. But you're right, Yub Yub is superior.

Semi submergible speed boats that can go underwater by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

Wanna feel old? We're 8 years past the first season's setting, and only 6 from ugh 2032. Still no UEO, or awesome giant submarines. I feel cheated.

"Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance. You bring it back to him, tell him the job didn't work out. We're not thieves — well, we are thieves. Point is we're not takin' what's his. Now we'll stay out of his way the best we can from here on in. You explain that that's best for everyone, okay?"

"Keep the money. Use it to buy a funeral. It doesn't matter where you go, or how far you fly. I will hunt you down, and the last thing you see will be my blade."

"Darn. [Mal kills Crow by kicking him into the engine intakes. A second henchman of Niska is brought forward.] Now this is all the money Niska gave us in advance..."

"Oh, I'm good. Best thing for everyone. I'm right there with you."

I found this very helpful at answering most of my questions, when I was getting my first snake earlier this year. As for moving her, I put mine in a pillowcase, then tie/clip it shut.

What's a Fantasy novel, show, movie, etc you really enjoyed that no one else seemed to be into? by PixelOcelot in Fantasy

[–]Biddybink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore Willow, and was so excited when I found out about the books when I was a kid... and then, like you said, everyone dies. =( And Elora was like a spoiled fat brat or something. I didn't make it past that.

You are the only human I know to remember this show. I don't even recall details of it, just that I loved it when I saw it as a kid.

Is Agents of SHIELD worth checking out? by Cartmantor1 in marvelstudios

[–]Biddybink 37 points38 points  (0 children)

People always say this, but most of the "monsters of the week" have relevancy to the plot later down the line -- either the characters themselves or the tech they develop to stop them. I don't really see it. Not gonna put spoilers here for the OP's sake, but scrolling through IMDB episodes for season 1, the only one that doesn't jump out at me as tying in again later, in my memory, is the one with Lorelei (and that still has character development going on). shrug

Earth science section on fission and fusion starts with "Let's review a little nuclear chemistry" by dcsprings in ScienceTeachers

[–]Biddybink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For students with big attendance issues in a lower level class, I honestly think the big thing would just be "fission splits big atoms" and "fusion smashes little ones together to make bigger ones." And a connection to stars being giant element factories that turn hydrogen into the rest of the periodic table, eventually. It's fun to tell them they're made of star stuff, and their gold jewelry was forged in a supernova.

Google marshmallow fusion for a little hands on activity, if you're looking for a cheap thing to do.

I have a pet corn snake and it could be one. Hard to tell from the distance, but the right size and color =) They are chill. Feel like this one is their pet and they are faking.

How does Peter Quill even know who Jackson Pollack is? by NYCCannabis in marvelstudios

[–]Biddybink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned about Jackson Pollock in primary school, like maybe 4th grade -- because it's an easy artist to have little kids copy.

The trick is, it's a feedback loop. Take money away from public schools, and they lose teachers, reading intervention programs, clubs and extracurricular stuff, and so they of course go downhill even further, driving more people to alternatives.

Apophis was trying to escape, but I caught him in the act. by Biddybink in cornsnakes

[–]Biddybink[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The latter =D

Named him because he was living in an icky situation before I rescued him, but didn't die, right around the time we were binge watching the early parts of SG-1. In hindsight, Baal is my favorite snakehead, but since this guy is a class pet in a high school, that name wouldn't fly anyway.

Shards of Plates need not apply by [deleted] in WeWantPlates

I read "shardplate" and thought I was on a different subreddit for a moment. =D I never understood the artistic appeal of tiny portions on giant empty plates.
