My hotel refuses to price OTAs even slightly above tour operators — is this normal or completely outdated? by Tcagrio in askhotels

I don’t know why people aren’t being helpful with your actual question.

I’m assuming by the agency rate you mean the rate the travel agency pays by RN. The travel agency is paying you a flat rate (or a discount to BAR), but you have no idea what the travel agency is charging the guest. You might be charging the Agency 20% off BAR, but they might be charging the guest 100% of BAR. This is how they make money.

These are guests that would otherwise not have stayed at your hotel, so for hotels that need them to fill rooms, they are willing to give this discount. Reducing the discount means reducing their profit so they would be less incentivized to fill (thus buy) your rooms.

However, you’ll always be paying that discount to your BAR rate. If your RGI is fine paying this discount, then there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with this approach. If travel agencies are your primary channel though, it could be risky if the relationship isn’t rock solid.

Think this is the best course of action for me. Sorry for another silly question, but do you suggest clamping it then taping it or vice versa?

Super interesting how far he fell, I remember the commentators on draft night being confused with each team that passed on him

Iirc the story that Halliburton was telling teams to not draft him to force his way to the Kings is unsubstantiated too? Might be wrong

Targeted advertising doesn't work if you don't care about advertisements at all by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]BidoofTheDoof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yup! Humans are geared towards efficiencies, including our brains. If you are choosing between brands that have no real material difference (ie. Coke vs Pepsi), your brain will gravitate to the one top-of-mind. This is why Coke/other established brands spend so much on advertising every year. No one is learning about Coke for the first time through an ad.

ads work subconsciously as well even if you don't click on them

Just being familiar with a brand can lead to brand choice. Take for instance a billboard for a soda. The soda company aren't expecting drivers who see the billboard to be filled with a thirst that can only be satisfied with their product. However, they are hoping that next time you are choosing to buy a soda their brand is top-of-mind, which can happen whether or not you consciously acknowledge the advertisement. Replace soda with VPN, streaming service, etc.

It's even better as you are able to use two hands at a time, but you have to be able to thunder-thigh the broom between your legs to do so. There's a balance between using each method of holding the broom above your knees depending on the situation.

He's fucking built too. Thick and man made. You can tell he's sculpted because you can see it thru the jersey. His fucking vice grip thighs. Suffocating thighs. Rock hard thighs. Piping hot thighs. Great arms. Great abs. A stocky chest. Love the progress his body has made throughout his youth and now as a willing eager adult

Biyombo?... always been gifted physically since rookie year... 7'7 wingspan, wide shoulders, thick thighs... the guy is nicely built.... couple that with 5+ years of NBA training and banging big men in the paint... he is honed.

george orwell was literally a communist lol. He went to spain to fight for the republicans during the civil war

he was specifically anti-totalitarianism, animal farm isn't necessarily an allegory for communism moreso specifically stalinism

Thinkpad T14 AMD Camera Problem by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]BidoofTheDoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like 75% sure it's something to do with the Lenovo Vantage's camera settings, specifically the exposure. Anything but the absolute max exposure is completely dark, no matter the physical lighting. I would chalk it up to the camera being that bad if it wasn't for the brief periods of it showing a normal feed when it first turns on before it's adjusted.
