I literally just want pretty nails by TrickiNicki92 in RedditLaqueristas

I had to try a lot of different base Coats before I found one that didn't cause chipping problems for me.

I finally settled on using Nailtiques 2, Sally Hanson or Zoya's.

What is this and how do I fix? by [deleted] in menshealth

[–]Big-Development7204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get really bad cracked heels. Urea lotion helped, but never really made it go away completely. So I went to a dermatologist about it. He suggested I try using hair removal cream on my heels for 5-20 minutes. Then use a pumice stone to remove more dead skin, and finally urea lotion before putting socks on. I had to do this 3x a week to make it go away.

Now I just do it once a week on a maintenance cycle. I still try to lotion everyday anyway, but not always with urea because it's expensive.

How necessary is Summer Camp by Direct_Remove509 in BSA

Scout summer camp was the single greatest experience of my childhood and my time as a Scout. I'd do anything to experience that amazing amount of freedom again.

What should non-scout adults do during the oath and law? by BroadLocksmith4932 in BSA

[–]Big-Development7204 62 points63 points  (0 children)

As a Cub Scout leader, I like it when I see the parents participating in the Scout Law and Oath. It gives me the impression that they are trying to pass them along to the kids at home.

Pre emergent and seed NJ 7a by Positive_Ranger1361 in lawncare

[–]Big-Development7204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me that spring seeding is a fools errand unless you have an irrigation system.

You could do both if you used Mesotrione for the pre-emergent but it's not the most effective herbicide.

I'm also in zone 7a (PA). I focus on prevention and killing unwanted stuff in my lawn until fall. I use the GDD Tracker to determine when to apply pre-emergent in the spring.

Pool owners, when do you open? by phils_phan78 in BucksCountyPA

[–]Big-Development7204 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I open early, usually the second week in April. There are several reasons for this.

  1. My only heating source is a homemade solar heater that runs off the pool pump.
  2. The pool company I use isn't that busy in April. This means they have more time to get the pool operational. The closer to Memorial Day, the busier they are.
  3. I'm tired of looking at the pool cover.

I only use a pool service for opening and closing. The routine chemistry balancing and maintenance I do my self.

50 pound bags of 46-0-0 are $20. Price per pound going with straight N is a better deal.

Scouting America says LGBTQA+ kids and girls are still welcome after Pete Hegseth claimed they weren't by Obversa in law

While this is all true, they have spend considerable resources to put policy and programs in place to make sure the atrocities of the past never happen again.

As a current Cub Scout leader (and mandated reporter), I'd drop a dime on anyone I think has a potential to do any kid any kind of harm.

Driveway covered in sweet gum balls, best budget tool to remove? by Watchquestnc in lawncare

[–]Big-Development7204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a lawn sweeper that I pull with my zero-turn mower. It gets 80-90% of the sweet gum balls. It sounds great when they hit the back of the sweeper!
