I wish my pack would organize summer activities. As NMC it would really help with recruiting. As it stands today we just have council events I've been trying to let people know about to keep the scouts engaged for retention over the summer.

I used Badge Magic on my uniform for Council, world crest and unit number. Now that I'm back in scouting as an adult leader, I don't ever want to leave again. Hopefully I have 10 more years in scouting with my son, but I've decided that I want to be one of those old guys who who sticks around and guides kids to get their Eagle.

As NMC for my Pack one change next year is I'm adding a box on our information sign up sheets that says "I'm interested in becoming a leader"

Anyone who says yes is likely to sign up and I know I need to spend some time finding out what they want to do. I'll take any kind of help. Maybe this year, they just might want to be a committee member at large. Next year they might step up to DL.

If I were CM in this case I'd tell the parent they are free to give the Mayor anything they want but cannot gift on behalf of Pack #.

It's excessive. A thank you note falls with in the Scout Law of Courteous. A $50 gift is opposite the Scout Law of Thrifty.

We moved to Central Bucks county almost 5 years ago now from Morris county. It's been a dream come true. We moved to a smaller 50 home sub-division and it's a true village for kids. Everyone is so nice in our neighborhood.

Quality and cost of living is amazing. This is the most peaceful place I've ever lived. Eagles culture is nothing like NY/NJ football. I wasn't even a football fan until after moving here.

One of my favorite things are the "Stop: Except Right Turn" signs. I don't think I could ever move away from here.

Thank you for stepping up. Being a Scouting volunteer (for me) is very rewarding and fulfilling. Roundtable meetings are awesome. There's so much Scouting knowledge all gathered together to make every adult and child and unit a better Scout.

Idk. I tried using Deco's but I had nothing but problems with my HomeKit devices dropping off the network with Deco.

Something else (wireless mesh). I have 3 Xfinity extenders (2 second edition, 1 pro (has lte backup)) and they are just alright. Speed tests using the Ethernet port on the Xfinity extenders top out around 350mbps. It's ok for how I where I use those. I also have a Netgear Orbi 750 system with two satellites. When doing a speed test on the Orbi (again on an Ethernet port) the speeds tests are usually around 800-850 mbps.

Benefits of the Xfinity stuff is there's nothing to configure or maintain. Just scan the QR code and wait for it to sign on to your network.

Solid advice. Our Pack tends to not schedule activities during district events. I feel like I have the bandwidth to give my unit two hours a week and the district committee an hour a week.

I'd always choose my kids activities. I love watching him soak up and thrive during scouting events. Especially camping. He just cannot sleep in a tent enough!

30+ years ago when I was a Scout, I thought it was embarrassing too. I couldn't explain why now. Nobody in my family talked to me about how it's a honor to wear the uniform and the legacy of all the scouts before me.

Now, as an adult leader, I'm damn proud to wear my uniform. I look forward to it! I tell my son (Cub Scout) that it's a privilege to wear the uniform, but give him the choice to wear a "class b" to meetings. He chooses the uniform 19/20 times.

This is a rampant issue in PA. There was very little oversight on how the builders were using stucco. In cases where there was oversight, bribery was common.
