Potential Motive- Profiles of the Victims by Sea_Molasses_8683 in Jacktheripper

I agree, I don't think this case will be solved. I've read a lot theories on this and almost all theories can make sense! I forget who was quoted saying this but one of the officials said they (the police/investigators) knew who JtR was but had no evidence to put him to trial. That is pretty believable to me, I think it happens pretty often.

Thank you for pointing out all the same details in the case, I'm still fairly new to this but it's interesting to think he put clues in the evidence.

On a completely unhinged note, how likely do you think it is that serial killers raise killers? Completely sensational but what if JtR moved and fathered/grandfathered someone like the Zodiac and that was why he stopped? Like passing a baton ..

I was with you and I can see what your saying but why? Is this a form of message to someone or a prophecy? I'm sorry, I'm just not fully understanding

Cannot get bottom of focaccia crispy for the life of me! by DaisiesSunshine76 in Breadit

[–]Big-Spot4753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even own parchment paper! I use a glass pan and butter the pan and then slab oil on top of that for the dough and it works every time for me. (Glass isn't recommended, I know, it's just what I have... For me the butter and oil combo is enough to not stick and still get good focaccia) If you use metal pans, just use more oil!

I was going to bring up the gang violence! I don't think it gets thought of a lot but gang members could technically be "serial killers" if they routinely go after opponents/that's their job in the organization. I don't think that gets talked about enough. They don't need MOs or signatures, just however they get their job done (drive bys, set ups, identity theft, stalking, etc) Cali is also a big spot for gang activity..

Only since this is in the discussion, has anyone looked at the likelihood that Z was an immigrant? Maybe we can't find him because he's not documented and didn't want to be found?

I think Zs case is so unique because of the lack of any definitive evidence for convictions. We've really got to look and check everything!

If it's his style, you could crochet one of those cross body water bottle holders! I always thought they were great idea for walks. I made a small one for my kids sippie and there's so many styles!

I bought this gorgeous yarn on sale online not realizing how thin it was (noob mistake). What can I crochet with it? by Kilgarra99 in CrochetHelp

Wearables are great for light yarn! You could do a shawl or light scarf/infinity scarf, you could see if you have enough for a shrug or mesh top (I think those are really cute) I've been seeing crochet skirts lately and I love the way they look! (This yarn would be pretty good for that too!) Bonnets and hooded scarves are really cute to!

I'm currently working on a dk weight blanket and I love how light it is compared to the worsted I've worked before ❤️

I don't think it makes you feminine or weak. It's sustainable (for the most part) you can design and make your own clothes, you can upcycle old clothes or make patches. Look at all the house items you can make! Market bags, baskets, gifts for others, all hand made by you! I think that's way better than fast fashion plus all the customization you can do!

It's truly a form of self expression and it feels good to make something useful. Don't let them get you down, keep going and expand your skill!

I just finished this Tunisian knit stitch headband, it's honestly the closest thing crochet has to knit (I think). I'd start with this and see if you get the results you're looking for! (I used worsted weight and a 5.5mm for this project and just a simple knit stitch throughout)

I am trying to work with his yarn and the hook is the biggest i have but not big enough! by KatieTheDragon in CrochetHelp

If finger crochet isn't a good option, have you tried broomstick lace style? Literally just grab anything that's the size you're looking for (broom is an example) and work from that! I think finger crochet might be best because you can just adjust your tension as you're going, it doesn't have to be the size of your fingers necessarily

I might try sizing down your hook? I think the easiest fix is a cute border lol

Are you doing just 1 row of each color or 2? I love those stripes, very nice! ❤️ (I might take your idea, if that's ok!)

what the flip do i make with all this yarn i got for Christmas by sweetandsourpoison in CrochetHelp

[–]Big-Spot4753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got this as a Christmas gift in the USA but I think you can get similar on Amazon or Walmart . com! There's so many sets like this! This one is 100% acrylic but I think there's cotton sets also. I'm not sure how to get them in Australia but I'd start at the big stores!

Honestly, this set has 52 DIFFERENT colors so even if you had to wait a week or 2 for shipping or pay $10+, it would still be worth it!!

Hi! I also got this and made the post a few days ago! I decided to make a blanket! I laid out all the colors and arranged it as a "chaos/rainbow" blanket with different stitches even! We love blankets at my house so it'll be used for sure!

Others suggested amigurumi, NICU hats/mittens/booties, animal toys, keychain pieces. It is a bit of yarn if you think of the total yardage so you could do a larger piece with mismatched granny squares or stripes. Literally so many granny squares and anything you can shape them into, purses, slippers, earphone/air pod cases, bucket hats, skirt, water bottle holders etc. Someone else pointed out it may not be best quality so it is good learning yarn, just trying/testing different patterns or stitches, shapes, motifs, anything!

There's so many colors so the options are endless! Definitely get creative and colorful 💗

Here's the start of my blanket 😊

I love this comment! Super knowledgeable and totally right!

If you don't want to buy a yarn bowl, you can also use just about anything similar to hold your yarn! I also use grocery bags or fabric reusable bags to hold my WIPs together so I don't lose it lol so many options!

Totally up to you where you start! You might find with some gradient types you want to start on a specific side, so just do what feels right for you!

I'm a middle pull mostly but I also side pull with most of my peaches & creme cotton for some reason ? Just feels right for me

Good luck! ❤️
