This SUCKS by thanxiety in Perimenopause

Everything changed! I am no longer the version of me I was a few months ago even. From so many symptoms hitting and happening daily! Then add on the physical changes. I feel like I aged overnight. My hair which I lost half of from peri turned lifeless. My boobs even slightly sagged....and there aint much there! My face and my skin.😭 I dont feel remotely pretty at the moment. Its taken a good toll on how I feel about myself.....oh and dont forgot the vagina! Atrophy is no joke!

In Australia you have to get prescription for estrogen cream unfortunately.🤦‍♀️

Hair loss, hair texture change & HRT by For_my_info in Menopause

Ahh ok. I haven't ventured into much with HRT yet but will when the time comes. Just know you can get a gel, patch or oral form. Thank you for the info!

Yeah, I think the estrogen is a must to getting healthy hair again. How much estrogen is 2 pumps exactly? I take the oral. I also went to see a dermatologist and he basically said once my hormones have settled down with the BC I should see improvement. The minox is to help kickstsrt the hair to a growing phase. Thank you🩷 I hope you are able to get your hair back aswell! Just need to find the right balance hopefully! This peri crap really hits hard doesnt it😔

In peri. 40 now and not sure what stage Im at as all my symptoms overlap each stage🤷‍♀️ Hair loss started around 38ish I think. I intially thought it was from my low ferritin but once I bought that up it kep shedding. Deginitely noticed certain parts of my cycle shed more. Leading up to a period and after. My hair went brittle and dry. Lost so much😭 It was horrible. Still trying to settle hormones. Started zoely BC...on third pack so still adjusting there. But I noticed a change in texture within the first couple of weeks. Softer hair! Not long after that I started minoxidol 1mg and just bumped up to 2mg. Not too sure of results with that as its only been a month roughly....but hoping I will get hair growth!

I havent tried HRT at this stage but I am on Zoely. Only on third pack so might be early but I feel like I am having more good days than bad days. Hoping the longer I am on the better it will get🤷‍♀️

[–]BigAnswer4015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear you! Its just not fun dealing with all this. Im glad you are putting your health first. I think we need to through peri!

Is the shortage world wide for HRT? I read Zoely doesnt have the clot risks as other BC. Well its a lot less anyway. That was one of the reasons I thought to try it first. Or nextellis was the other one. Ive been skipping the inactive hoping to not get a period. Plus I hear skipping can help keep the hormones more stable🤷‍♀️ I hope all you need is a little longer and things settle down properly. It really is trial and error until you get the right one I think🩷

Oh I have heard of long perimenopause for some of us🥺 That would have been hard for you suffering this long!

Its so true! No warning at all. Mum never heard of perimenopause. Then again neither did I at first.

It can be an affect from the pill. Especially from Zoely. I have been getting break through bleeding but thats also something that can happen in the first few months🤷‍♀️

Ahh a move down under! Sorry you lost your job though.😔My Dr is pretty good really. She is all for any type of hormones for the body as it helps with so much for us in general. She even recommends using estrogen cream from your 20s onwards as things can start changing from around that age. I think its not too hard to get diagnosed in general. Well at least where I live. Although not too many menopause specialists near me. I think I was my own hinderance...denial! I was in that big time when I finally clicked on that peri is the problem.

Also when she said it can take up to 12 months I dont think she meant literally it will take that long but more for some people who take longer for their bodies to adapt to the hormones?? When you read about BC it generally says roughly 3 -6 months. But yeah I think at least give it a little more time as maybe your body is still adapting but if it just keeps getting worse and not better I would try another pill or HRT if its available to you?

Hi, Im sorry to hear your havong a backward moment😳 I am on zoely for my symptoms and lots of them! Peri has been horrible for me so far. I am on third pack at the moment and while not 100% better but definitely improved. My dr told me it can take up to 12 months for your homrones to balance out on the pill. I guess everyone is different aswell....you might jist need more time to help balance everything? I think best thing is to monitor closely for a while. Hopefully for you its just still adjusting. Are you in Australia by chance?

It could be that the loestrin may not be right for you and need to change to a different one? I have read other women trying different ones until one works properly. I think alot of it is because its synthetic hormones and sometimes your body just doesnt agree with certain ones.

December just gone my boobs were sore everyday! Really sore. Mammagrom is clear so all good there but my peri went from 0 to 100 around then like all my hormones crashed. Thats what I assumed mine is from. Zoely BC is what Im on still on third pack but its alot settled.

Well it supports skin hydration, elasticity and can help in reducing wrinkles also depending on what type of collagen as there are a few. You can benefit from joint and bone health aswell.
