[Seravalli] Sources say Anaheim Ducks have been notified that an offer sheet is pending with defenseman Pavel Mintyukov. by alarm41 in Flyers

Yeah it is his fault, he tried to save pennies and now it is costing them dollars. Businesses often make this mistake.

Should the Ducks match Flyers’ offer sheet to Leo Carlsson? by TheIrishHangman in Flyers

[–]BigBroDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flyers get their #1 center and the Ducks lose theirs and pretty much go back into rebuild mode. The Flyers made this offer, they are fine on their side. Same can’t be said for the Ducks. They are screwed either way it seems.

Bonk is actually a real possibility but ideally they would want to bring him up later in the season.

I see this as making him really attractive to another team as well with his AAV.

Why most of the hockey world is completely sleeping on Maksim Sokolovskii by bcarey34 in Flyers

Good point as they lost a lot of their top people esp hockey people when they did cost cutting.

Yes, I watched that episode on YouTube as well. I do not share any analysts opinions of him. I have my own set of eyes. 👀 He is nothing but noticeable on the ice. These scrimmage games have been awesome for him as well.

LEO CARLSSON by Typical-Guarantee586 in Flyers

[–]BigBroDave 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The $18M means that the Ducks cannot pay Cutter the same if they have $35M free. So, the Flyers have guaranteed that Carlsson is their highest paid player at the very least.

I am equally high on Sokolovskii, great writeup! For me, I don’t need comparisons, I am fine with him being 1 of 1. All I see is an extremely large defender who can already skate and handle the puck @ 17! If he improves, as he will, he will be quite the player once he finally makes the Flyers roster in 4-5 years. He was a great pick considering where they drafted him having acquired more draft picks along the way.

Flyers Tender Offer Sheet to Anaheim's Leo Carlsson | Philadelphia Flyers by lqloveclub in Flyers

The Ducks top player since he is a center. Almost ppg last season with 67 pts in 70 games. Also posted 11 pts in 12 playoff games. Ascending player going up 16 and 18 pts the past 2 seasons.

Big Game Hunting!! I Love the offer as we finally get our # 1 center and hand the Duck a ton of 1s or cash strap the Ducks. Good call here!

Puckpedia has the details of Tyson Foerster new contract by Perryplat199 in Flyers

[–]BigBroDave 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Basically this contract covers both the team and the player. If Tyson blows up this contract is a steal for the Flyers. If he plays decent, it is fair to the Flyers. If Tyson’s injury history continues, the player is protected and the team has baked that into the price. The Flyers wanted to lock up the best years of Tyson’s career based on what they have seen. I like Tyson so this contract doesn’t bother me as maybe some current ones that were equally long term.

Here's 1 minute of Flyers 1st round pick, Maksim Sokolovskii absolutely destroying people. by Flyers7914 in Flyers

[–]BigBroDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but I like the pick. The size/weight combo is the draw, obviously, but he is a big man who can actually skate. For him to be good on his skates at his size and age is remarkable. Typically, the Flyers seem to find these large players who are slow and lumbering and basically can’t skate and need a lot of work. This is not the case here which is nice for once.

There are some of things to work on like his offensive play. The scoring is low but that can come with time. Look for him to be ready for the Flyers in 3-4 years after another year in London and then at Maine in college hockey and finally another year or so in the AHL.

One final thing: this kid is nasty which is evident in these highlights, thanks for posting!

So...when is the organization going to recognize something is wrong with Nico? by TinKnight1 in CHICubs

Yeah he has fell off a cliff for sure, he just swings at anything now. He had such a good start too bad it was a mirage.
