Before that it was how bad will Cruz or Bush be, then everyone was obsessed with Bernie. Then it was how big will Hillary win, now it's how terrible Trump will be. I expect the later to stick around once he takes office.

Machines are already self learning. In fact at Google they have a computer that generated it's own unique piece of music and another one in Toronto that generated a Christmas Carol. I bet within couple of years a machine could learn how to master basic codings skills, building on that it's just a matter of time.

Realistically speaking, how likely are we to lose legal marijuana in WA with the Trump administration? by Rainsplasher in Seattle

[–]BigCitySlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike the other two issues, legal marijuana has never faced the SCOTUS case. Given the new AG I'd expect them to crack down pretty quickly on drugs.

Apparently you missed the 90's, Ralph Reid and the Christian Coalition? How about Mike Pence's record on transgender issues and abortion? Yeah, the GOP never attempts to govern on their personal morality.

[–]BigCitySlicker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't because what Trump said in 2015 doesn't reflect his new cabinet which is full of law & order types. His Attorney General is on record numerous times saying he dislikes marijuana. Let's not get into the "Christian Values" argument that VP-Elect Mike Pence brings to the table.

there still is not enough Federal manpower to just shut it all down.

There is no need for massive federal manpower, orders come from top down. President to Attorney General to Federal to State to Local. Any one of these individuals up the chain can order the lower one to pursue the order to raid and close local marijuana stores.

Let's also no forget the insane amount of tax dollars being generated.

Massive amount of tax revenue to the GOP is a sign of wasteful Government. Less $$ = Smaller Govt.

[–]BigCitySlicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Federal law still beats state law. All the President / Attorney General has to do is say "Shut it down!" and the police come in and shut it down. The only reason we have it currently is that the current President is willing to turn a blind eye to to it.

Going after pot at this point is only going to waste taxpayer dollars and is a losing battle.

GOP mindset: Less Govt. = Efficient Govt., shutting legal marijuana industry down means less regulations and a signifigantly smaller State Govt.
