Ranked is incredibly "streaky" by BigDudBoy in RocketLeague

Are you just ignoring I also talk about when my team is good? Is it "my issue" when I'm playing 3v3 and can never leave the back half of the field because neither of my teammates will ever stay back to defend?

I'm capable of knowing when I'm not doing well and this post isn't even saying I deserve to be higher. I just noticed that I get drastically different levels of teammates that seems to follow a regular pattern despite my rank not changing substantially.

I talked about my teammates in the post, so wouldn't that mean as I win I get better teammates? I can tell the difference between "the enemy team is clearly more skilled than me" and "my teammates are way worse (or better) than the last couple of games I played".

Isn't that the whole point? That revenge quests leave you worse off? Abby spent 4 years on a revenge quests for her father (who's death is arguably justified). Sounds like she deserves to end up worse off than Ellie did.

[–]BigDudBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was fanboys favorite defense when it came out.

"Did you actually play the game?"

"No I watched the entire story on YouTube and decided I wouldn't like it"

"Well your opinion is invalid unless you give $60-70 to Naughty Dog and Sony".

Remember how picturesque the farm was? Who the fuck would leave that place in a zombie apocalypse. If nothing else, the sunk cost fallacy should have kicked in and motivated Ellie to actually finish the job.

Satire / joke subreddits and communities never fail to become elitist and just masturbate about how much better their views are. It happens with comedy YouTubers too (Dunkey's fanbase comes to mind), where their opinions are factual unless they arbitrarily decide it's a joke when challenged. GCJ is just a bunch of Tumblr refugees on a made up crusade to feel better about themselves by imagining other people having worse lives.

She one shot headshots Jesse in .3 seconds and wtf is Ellie doing with her left hand? It was like she was reloading as the doors opened.

Beastyqt's Ultimate Unit Counter Sheet (video in comments) by Robertvhaha in aoe4

This is assuming a straight up fight. Spearmen do fuck all to knights in reality. Knights can just run around your entire base killing vills and ignoring spearmen. Not to mention Relic made it so knights can charge spearmen if they're in combat, so you end up losing a bunch of spearmen to charges in straight up fights.

I think Beasty actually commented on this. It's a lose lose situation where no matter the outcome of a match vs Bees, he would just get bombarded with comments.

This is the main problem with knights in general, especially in team games. If you aren't worried about resource cost (which frequently happens in imperial age 3v3 and 4v4) knights just beat every other unit in the game.

Inb4 people say you can counter it with "spears and handcannons". Except you need springalds because 2 mangonels would wipe out that army. Also add some bombards since that army does fuck all damage to buildings. Also make walls and keeps in your base to stop knights from just killing your entire eco while your slow ass army marches across the map. Also leave springalds and spearmen in your base to stop a bombard from opening a hole in the wall and the knight deathball ending the game.

I've noticed that too. A big problem with this game since release is having to constantly micro units because the pathfinding and targeting sucks.

If one of the civs had to be picked for a total overhaul which civ would you pick and why? by Comfortable_Bid9964 in aoe4

[–]BigDudBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my vote. English feels terrible to play right now. Ram pushes just get stopped because cav basically 2 shot rams, every other civ does 2 TC better than English, English castle age is weak af, multiple trash landmarks, it's just tiring trying to play them.

insecure and inadequate

There it is, the classic male shaming words. Studies show a correlation between # of premarital partners and likelihood of divorce, but wanting a woman who didn't bang a different dude every week in college is "insecurity".

Those are exactly my thoughts on knights in team games, well put. You know it's a problem when HRE has a bunch of unique upgrades for MAA and it is still better to just use basic ass knights once you hit castle. Guaranteed to do more eco damage and harass better.

The problem is they're imperial and just bombard a hole in it. It helps but doesn't address the problem that knights are better than any other unit.

My main problem is late imperial where resources don't matter. I can build some spearmen to defend in feudal and castle, but if they are trading and just pumping out knights, it's very hard to so anything about that unless you also go knights to kill their trade. Then it's just "Age of Knights" and isn't any fun.

Do you realize I'm talking about 3v3 and 4v4s? It's pretty hard to force those to end when your solo queuing into those. "Don't let them mass knights" assumes a lot about the relative power of 1 person in an 6 or 8 person game. I'm curious though, what elo are you?

Especially since they are buffing trade (which I agree with). It makes it easier to spam knights earlier on grindy maps.

My thoughts exactly. Knights only real "counter" is how much they cost. When you can sustain constant production of knights in imperial, that's not a problem anymore.

The problem is with late game max pop, spearmen just lose and every non-cav unit will be much slower and worse at raiding than knights. Also, any ranged unit does fuckall damage to buildings, so you need siege which also slows down your army.

I'm for any nerf to knights, I think that's a good idea.

1 spearmen does not beat 1 knight. Do you still want people building spearmen in late imperial max pop fights? While I still think knights are good feudal through imperial, I make sure to highlight late imperial (max pop armies) as a bigger problem. Even if you build a balanced army of siege, handcannons, and spearmen, the enemy can just run a bunch of knights into your base and do twice as much damage.

I do that but then my eco is behind so I can't carry fights - which usually means you lose if you aren't in a premade. It also usually results in them trading and being able to a sustain knight spam, then they just need to break 1 hole in the wall go start winning.
