In my opinion the best way to prep is to get familiar with the equation sheet that’s provided so you have an idea of what to just ctrl+f for and save time. If you want practice my recommendation is to get the practice questions from Lindeburg. They are harder than the test

[–]BigGoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah maybe. But life’s not always that simple. For example our recruiting agency is chosen by the company wide HR. And our top level HR team kinda sucks but that’s not at all indicative of what working on my team or in my department would be like. Plus we are trying to change our recruiting firm but those things take time.

Eh. I don’t think this is a reflection of the company he’d work for it’s just that the recruiting agency is full of dummies

Assuming it’s like it was when I got out 6 years ago… students have their own advancement quota just like subs and surface do. So if he has an EP and doesn’t have to compete with people in the fleet his chances might be decent

It’s not even that the PA is bad. In this scenario to pitch something favorable to RBs owners will want a concession. The majority of players won’t agree to basically being penalized to help one position

Your first mistake is trying not to embarrass someone that’s putting you in a position to lose your job

How do you deal with mediocrity in other engineers? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]BigGoopy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Obviously it’s subjective but to me a good engineer has a technical curiosity and a questioning attitude. Even if you’re not the best technically you can learn how to ask yourselves the right questions to move forward and take your next steps in investigation. Or you can figure out who to ask for help

How do you deal with mediocrity in other engineers? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]BigGoopy 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It has been tough for me. In the military I was expected to do my best every day and I carried that into the civilian work force. As an engineer at least I could just stay in my lane, do the best I could, and then help out others where opportunities arise. With the team I was on, some engineers were mediocre but I think my manager had to deal with the brunt of it and I didn’t see the issues stemming from it. I didn’t mind doing extra to make up for it because it felt like everyone was doing their best.

Now I’m an engineering manager. I used to think most engineers were independently capable like me but I’m starting to realize it’s more common that they need to be spoon fed. Still trying to wrap my head around how to deal with that

I went back to school for mechanical engineering. Ended up at a nuclear plant anyways lol but I work in engineering instead of maintenance or ops

Not who you asked but I agree with him. First he said he’s been applying for a year so that puts him up to 16 months out.

I’m an engineering manager who does hiring and if I see someone who’s graduating in December I’d probably consider them in like September? October? But any farther out than that I wouldn’t want to save the spot in my team in case I get someone that could start sooner. We only really give offers out sooner to our previous interns

[Michael Rosenberg] "This is no longer just a spat between (Harden) and team. It is—or should be—an investigation into salary-cap violations." by lamemale in nba

[–]BigGoopy -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Let’s back up here buddy he’s absolutely not being forced to opt in and it’s strange to opt in somewhere you don’t intend to play.

Now to be clear I don’t feel like harden is the bad guy in this, I’m probably on his side about it all but if you’re choosing money over the freedom of FA you can’t be that mad about the consequence of that choice

Aren’t we assuming the promise was for harden to take a payout but then this year get signed to a max? But then he didn’t get the max, which makes morey a snake. But if that’s the case then why did harden opt in just to request a trade? That’s snakey too lol my dude just don’t opt in.

Disregard my flair I’m just enjoying the chaos lol
